“Yes?” I ask the sandy haired boy stood outside of my car.
“Rebecca…are you…are you okay?” he asks concern coating his voice.
“Does it bloody look like it?” I basically scream at him motioning towards my smudged eyeliner and mascara.
“Err no, no I guess not” he mutters embarrassingly, hanging his head like a child who’s just been told off.
“I’m sorry Alex just things getting too me…”I mutter sadly, beating myself up for shouting at someone who’s only trying to help.
“Hey no need to be sorry, after everything that happened in there I can tell you hate me.” Alex mutters avoiding eye contact. Wait he thinks I hate him? I mean yeah I find it disgusting how he acts, my suspicions being confirmed by Kara but I hardly know him enough to judge.
“I don’t hate you.” I mutter just about loud enough for him to hear. This causes Alex to look up at me.
“You don’t?” he questions.
“I don’t know you enough to hate you or anything you really” I shrug looking into the boys chocolate brown eyes. There’s something about them that could really make a girl fall for this guy, I’m guessing that’s part of his charm to be honest.
“But before in school, how you acted.” He replies confused before I cut him off.
“I had my suspicions that from the way you acted you were a player, my suspicions were later confirmed but that doesn’t make me hate you, for all I know there could be a meaning behind all this, I just don’t want to be a part of your sick little game. I don’t need know more shit in my life but trust me, sooner or later Alex it’s all going to come around to bite you, I just met you, I don’t want to be the one to say I told you so.” I explain as Alex nods thinking, as if then on cue the cafeteria door bursts open to reveal a slutty looking blonde.
“ALEX” screams the blonde female searching round the car park. I look to Alex to notice all the colour has drained from his face and that he is staring on in shock and looks like he is about to shit himself. I tell Alex to hop in causing him to jump up and run around to the other side of the car, jump in then do his seat belt up. I quickly started the engine and reversed out of the car park driving away from the school. Once we are one or two blocks away I burst out laughing.
“What’s so funny?” asks Alex turning to look at me, seeming to have calmed down a little.
“It’s just a little ironic don’t you think?” I ask looking at Alex; his blank expression pushes me to continue. “Here I am warning you about how sleeping around is going to come back round to bite you and then as if on cue, out comes one of your little secrets.” I laugh pulling up at a red light.
“Oh yeah this is one barrel of laughs.” Alex says sarcastically causing me to laugh further. “I’m serious Rebecca; with how angry she was I thought she would rip my dick off." I can’t help but burst out laughing at this sentence causing Alex to laugh with me; slowly I pull away from the red light and carry on driving.
“Now that would have been funny and Alex…after that little escapade and shit, I think you have earned the right to call me ‘Becca.” I mutter smiling to myself.
We drive for a little just talking about random things, realising how much we have in common. We even start singing along to Blink 182 together. We get to know so much about each other in a short amount of time, it’s as if we have known each other for forever. A few minutes later I look at the time to realise its 2pm causing me to exclaim loudly. After driving for a while I pull up outside a park and get out of the car, like the child I am I locate the swings first and run over to them. I’m soon followed by Alex, who seats himself into the swing beside me. For a few minutes its silent, with both of us just drifting on the swings.
“Hey, first one to swing highest wins!” shouts Alex who kicks off the ground trying to quickly gain height from the swing.
“You’re on Gaskarth!” I scream before kicking off the ground myself and trying to swing higher than Alex. For a while we just sit on the swings laughing at each other trying to swing the highest, I can’t help but realise that this is the most fun I have had in ages.
“Okay, Okay you win.” I shout trying to get my breath back from laughing so much, we both slow down and come to a standstill just giggling at each other.
“You know Alex, I got to admit, earlier, I kinda wasn’t your biggest fan. When you basically asked me to sleep with you after knowing me for a couple of minutes I thought here we go another arsehole” I say taking in another breath before continuing “But I gotta admit, right here right now, you have changed my opinion.” Just from saying this, a small grin covers Alex’s face.
“Well it’s good to know I changed that horrible opinion.” He exclaims with a smile on his face.
“Wow first day at a new school and I bunk off half of it.” I exclaim with a laugh. I look over to find Alex looking at me. “Yes Alexander?”
“’Becca…” He begins still looking at me. I give him a signal to say keep on talking. “Why did you move here?”
