Rebecca’s POV
3 hours…that’s how long it had been since I found him, found him lying there completely still, blood leaking from his head. It had been 3 hours since the ambulance arrived and brought him to hospital, as well as myself as I was not about to let him be taken away from my sight. Now here I sat, at his bedside along with Jack. Just waiting…waiting for him to wake up.
I glance over at Jack to see him sitting in the second chair staring at Alex, never letting his sight leave him. I knew he blamed himself for this, he believed that if he had stayed in that room with him nothing would have happened, that Alex would be safe and not in his current condition. I tried to tell Jack that this was not his fault and that he couldn’t blame himself, but he didn’t listen. I sigh quietly running a hand through my hair. The small sound that escapes
from my mouth causes Jack to look up.
“Rebecca, you okay?” asks Jack quietly, his soft eyes burning into mine.
“What do you think Jack?” I reply a little harshly, more than intended. “I’m sorry I didn’t mean for it to sound like that, just stressed you know.” I explain my voice quiet.
“It’s alright, I totally understand…it is all my fault.” Mutters Jack, the last bit of his sentence quieter.
“Jack, this isn’t your fault, I told you.” I reply, leaning over Alex to hold his hand.
“But Rebecc-”
“No buts!” I exclaim, cutting him off. He nods before placing his attention back on Alex. I sit still thinking about everything’s that happened in the past 3 hours, his parents had arrived at the hospital and were currently sat downstairs having a coffee. I had refused to leave Alex’s side and they had agreed to it. I look up as I hear the door opening to find Kara standing
there.
“Hey how is he?” she asks moving over to me.
“Unresponsive but stable, the doctor says he doesn’t know when Alex is going to wake up…we just need to give it time.” I mumble back. She nods giving me a sympathetic look.
“I’ve been sent here to inform you, they found the culprit.” She replies placing her hand on my shoulder.
“Who?” I question, also noticing that Kara has now grabbed Jack’s attention.
“It…it was Kendra, they found what happened on the school's security system, they are all out looking for her. Rian and Zack are waiting downstairs, they didn’t know if anyone else was allowed up here.” Kara explains, waiting mine and Jack’s reactions carefully.
Suddenly Jack stands up, knocking his chair back and storming out of the room. I jump asking Kara to keep an eye on Alex as I chase Jack down the corridor.
“Jack!” I call out following him down an empty corridor. At the mention of his name Jack stops walking before launching at the wall, smashing his head against it, punching it, releasing all his anger in one.
“Jack stop!” I scream trying to get hold of him, failing in the process. “Jack!” I yell taking hold of his arms and making him look at me. He turns looking at me, his eyes red and puffy with tears slowly tracing down his soft clear skin.
“It’s all my fault.” He mumbles under his breath, his eyes never leaving my gaze.
“Jack no..” I mumble, the tears catching in my eyes.
“I tried to warn him Rebecca, I tried to…but he didn’t listen, he wanted to believe the good in her, he's wanted to see the good in everyone ever since he met you.” He mumbles staring down at me.
“Jack I know, but at least they know who done it, and none of us knew she was gonna turn
out like this.” I mumble back whipping the tears from his face. He shakes his head, moving out of my reach.
“But I did, I knew she was gonna end up doing something bad.” He mutters, his eyes pleading with mine.
“Jack seriously, no one had a clue, you was just basing that on how you felt.” I explain back, watching my bestfriend crumple in front of me.
“She told me, she told me she had a plan, but I couldn’t say anything otherwise she would tell. I couldn’t.” he mutters, his back hitting the wall as his whole body slumps to the floor all the while him muttering under his breath on how this was ‘all his fault’.
“Jack what do you mean, what did she have against you?” I ask crouching down in front of him, lifting his chin up to look at me. He shakes his head in a way of him saying he couldn’t tell me. “Jack please, you know you can tell me anything.” I whisper to him, staring deep into his big brown eyes that were now puffy red.
“She knew…she knew I was in lo-“
“GUYS!” Kara runs into the hallway cutting Jack off midsentence. Quickly me and Jack look up to see Kara in a panic state. “Come quick! He’s waking up! He’s waking up!” she yells before running back to the room. As if on cue me and Jack leapt to our feet, reaching the room just in time to see Alex opening his eyes.
“Alex! Oh thank god you’re alright.” I yell rushing to his side. He stares at me wide eyes for a couple of seconds.
“Alex, Lex?” I question staring into his big brown eyes. He leans away from me a bit causing me to feel hurt, the look of terror never leaving his eyes.
“Wh-who are you?” he whispers quietly.
“Alex don’t you know who I am?” I question stepping back a bit.
“No…no I don’t.”

DUN DUN DUN! There we go! Bit of a dramatic chapter, the guys found out it was Kendra and Jack was so close to admitting his feelings before he was cut off by Kara! and now Alex has no clue who Rebecca is! So so much drama!
