Alex’s POV

I yawned loudly as I hummed against Jack’s bare chest.

“Good morning” he whispered.

I looked up at him and smiled as I lent up and kissed him gently.

“Good morning to you too” I chuckled.

“How are you feeling?” Jack questioned.

I knew he was going to ask me that. I mean, I nearly died on the night after Austin’s funeral. I honestly do not know what happened but a part of me felt like Austin caused it. It felt like it was revenge for how I said I hated him. To be perfectly honest I was feeling like absolute crap. But my date with Jack sort of fixed it a little. How can you possibly know when to stop grieving though?

“Lex” Jack soothed, running his thumb under my eye.

Was I crying?

“Sorry” I mumbled, snuggling into his chest.

“It’s ok Alex, I understand” Jack replied.

I traced my fingers along Jack’s tattoo on his chest and I smiled softly.

“I’m gonna go make coffee, come down when you’re ready” Jack mused as he slipped out of bed and gave me a quick peck on the lips.

I watched him saunter out of the room before I lay back on the bed and sighed. That’s when I cracked and let the tears fall like there was no way of stopping them. I miss Austin so damn much and I wish it was all just a fucking dream.

“I miss you” I whispered into nothing.

I let out a shuddered sigh as I sat up in bed and slipped out, grabbing some sweatpants. I walked to the mirror and fixed my hair a little before leaving the room. I could smell a delicious breakfast flowing out of the kitchen and I smiled as Jack sat at the table with coffee and food.

“Hey Jack, what do you think about adopting?” I questioned.

Jack’s eyes widened as he spat his coffee everywhere, choking loudly as he gasped for air. What the hell Alex where the hell did that come from?

“Isn’t it a bit early to be thinking about that Lex?” he questioned, wiping coffee from his chest.

I raised an eyebrow curiously before blushing furiously.

“Oh no! Not that kind, I mean a pet” I mused.

“Oh” Jack replied, looking into my eyes.

“Well?” I asked.

Jack shrugged as he poured out more coffee.

“I don’t see why not” he replied.

My eyes widened as I jumped up and down in excitement. He’s actually serious about it!

“I’m going to go look at places!” I yelled, turning away.

“Alex” Jack grumbled.

I stopped in my tracks and turned back to face Jack.

“Sit and eat” he ordered, pointing to the food across from him.

“Fine” I whined as I pouted and sat down.

Jack’s such a grouch in the morning, I might just call him Oscar The Grouch from Sesame Street. I chuckled quietly as I ate some of my food. I suddenly felt Jack’s leg brush against mine and I gazed up as I saw him reading the newspaper. I smirked as I rubbed his leg in return and I heard him curse under his breath. He’s such a damn tease. I smirked as I finished my food and stood up.

“Later babe” I purred as I walked away to look at pet adoption.

I was so damn excited.

*Time lapse two hours*

“Alex will you settle down” Jack mused, keeping his eyes on the road.

“But I’m excited!” I whined.

“Well you can get excited when we get there, you’ve got the biggest puppy eyes ever” he replied.

I pouted as I settled down in my seat and looked out of the window. I don’t know what I want. A cat? A dog? Maybe something a little more unique? Such a hard decision, but I guess you get that feeling when you see a certain one.

“Almost there Lex” Jack spoke.

I looked up as I saw the shelter and a smile spread on my face. This is it, finally going to adopt a pet with Jack. We pulled into the parking lot and found a spot and I stepped out of the car and started to walk to the shelter.

“Alex!” Jack yelled.

I stopped and turned around as Jack jogged up to me and slipped his arm around my waist.

“Slow down will you” he chuckled.

“Sorry” I mused, giving him a soft kiss on the nose.

Jack smiled as he took hold of my hand and we walked inside. We were greeted by a woman at the desk and Jack filled out some paperwork while I looked at photos of some of the animals they had here. I got halfway through the dog photos until a certain one caught my eye. I tilted my head as I gazed at the photo. I looked to the other side to see a bio on the dog. A Staffordshire Bull Terrier, 3 months old, black with white paws, white chest, white dip at the tail and a white crescent moon shape on the top of its neck. It didn’t say what gender it was but I could tell by how masculine it was that it was male. I found myself being pulled in by the beady brown eyes, something no one could resist.

“Do you still have this dog?” I asked, turning to face Jack and the shelter owner, whose name was Clarice.

She squinted her eyes before pursing her lips slightly.

“We do, but he’s not doing so well on being adopted. He stays curled up in the corner of his kennel and doesn’t budge. I’m afraid we can’t keep him any longer, he may have to be put down” Clarice explained.

My heart dropped, a few tears brimming in my eyes. I don’t understand how they can do this. They all deserve another chance at life and this seems so unfair.

“Can I see him please?” I begged.

Clarice nodded as she showed us through and Jack and I walked down the hallway where all the other animals were. I saw another worker there as he was taking a dog out a kennel and I immediately recognised it as the dog I wanted to see.

“Wait!” I yelled, walking forward with Jack.

“Can I help you?” the worker asked.

“We asked to see this dog, we may be adopting him” I replied.

“Good luck kid” he scoffed, letting the lead go.

I crouched down and eyed the dog before me. He looked scared, his tail was between his legs and his eyes looked rather dark.

“Hey little buddy, I won’t hurt you” I whispered, holding out my hand.

The dog crept towards me as he sniffed my hand and I ran my finger under his chin before slowing moving my hand up his snout and rubbing it gently before I scratched behind his ear and then the top of his head. Tears filled my eyes as I saw the dog start to wag his tail and move closer to me before ending up in my lap as I hugged him lose. The worker’s jaw dropped as I cried even more, this one is it.

“This one, we’ll get this one” I whispered, looking back at Jack.

Jack’s POV

“Any thoughts on names?” I asked, unlocking the front door.

“I’m not sure yet, something unique and not such a cliche dog name” Alex replied.

“So, something like Amon-Ra?” I questioned with a smirk.

Alex looked at me and shook his head as he let our new dog off his lead.

“Don’t be a jerk, Jack” he chuckled.

“Aw, sorry precious” I soothed.

Alex scoffed as he walked away but I pulled him back, wrapping my arms tightly around his waist. He smiled as his hands rested on my chest and our noses touched slightly.

“I love you, you know that right?” I mused.

“Jack, I would never doubt it for a second” he whispered, moving his hands up under my jaw. “I mean, after everything that has happened, it just made me love you more and realise how important you are. You are the only one I love Jack” he added.

I smiled slightly as I brushed my lips against Alex’s and he grinned, placing a quick kiss on my lips.

“Oh come on, you can do better than that” I chuckled.

Alex laughed as he ran his hands to the nape of my neck before pulling me forward and connecting our lips. I hummed softly as I gripped the thin fabric of his shirt, deepening the kiss. I always enjoyed these moments with Alex. The kiss soon became heated and I groaned as Alex bit my lip playfully before pulling away.

“Not in front of the dog babe” he chuckled.

I rolled my eyes as I kissed his nose and sat down on the couch. I raised an eyebrow as I looked at our dog.

“I think I might have a name” I spoke.

“Oh?” Alex questioned, looking over at me.

“How about Mihael, it’s a name for the Angel of Loyalty and he seems like a pretty loyal dog” I replied.

Alex turned to the dog as he patted his head and looked into his eyes.

“Mihael, how does that sound?” he questioned.

With a brief wag of the tail I knew that was the fitting name.

“Mihael it is then” I chuckled.

“Call him over” Alex replied.

I looked over at Mihael and tapped my knees gently.

“Come here Mihael” I commanded.

Mihael pricked his ears up as his attention was now on me and he trotted over to me, placing his paw on my knee.

“Looks like we’ve got a name!” Alex cheered.

I smiled as Alex walked over to me and sat down, resting his head on my shoulder.

“We’re like one big happy family” he hummed.

Family. That just reminds me of something. I haven’t told my parents about Alex and I.

*Time lapse one hour*

“Thanks for coming out and helping me Billie” I mused, walking into the mall.

“No worries man, glad I can help in a dire situation” he laughed.

“Shut up you, I want this to be perfect and romantic and I’ve never really been good at this shit” I mumbled.

“You just want in his pants” Billie scoffed.

I blushed as some middle aged woman stared at us and Billie burst out laughing. Thanks a lot Billie.

“Ease up Jack, all you need to do is relax” he soothed.

I nodded as we walked into a small shop, basket in hands as we started to go down the aisles and pick out things.

“So, any sexy clothing to wear before hand?” Billie teased.

“Shut up” I chuckled, grabbing some candles from the shelf and showing them to Billie.

“Pretty sure Alex likes vanilla scented things, not strawberry” Billie mused.

“Of course you would know” I replied, sending him a smirk.

Billie rolled his eyes and smiled.

“He told me at dinner when we first met you guys” he replied, disappearing down an aisle.

I turned back to the shelf to look for vanilla scented candles and some jars to sit them in.

“Hey Jack!” Billie called.

I turned around as Billie walked around the corner with a police outfit and handcuffs.

“You’re joking right?” I questioned.

“Oh come on Jack, a little role play never hurts in a relationship. You can save the fancy candles and rose petals for another day” he replied with a pout. “Alex would love it, I’m sure” he continued.

I sighed as I shook my head at him and walked over to him, putting the outfit in my basket. I then realised we had to go to the checkout and I didn’t want to blush like a moron.

“Here, you go to the register” I muttered.

“Nope, you’re going to grow up and go, come on” Billie issued as he ushered me to the register.

The cashier greeted us as he started to scan the things and gave me a questioning glance and I just smiled sheepishly.

“We’ve got a bust night, right babe?” Billie spoke, slapping my ass gently as I scowled.

I’m assuming he just did that so not to make me get even more nervous. Dammit, I hope I don’t fuck this up.

*Time lapse four hours*

I’d planned to arrive back at the house in my uniform and surprise Alex. I hope to god he didn’t freak out. I walked up the front steps as I knocked on the door and heard footsteps. The door opened and my hat was tilted downwards as I caught a glimpse of Alex who was just wearing an oversized shirt, fuck, so very hot. I smirked as I held the handcuffs up in my hand.

“Alex Gaskarth, you’re under arrest, anything you say or do will be held against you” I purred seductively.

Alex smiled as he bit his lip slightly.

“Well, can I be held against you, Officer Barakat?” he whispered teasingly.

My breathing hitched as I stepped forward and pushed Alex inside, locking the door. I attacked Alex’s lips as he moaned and gripped onto my hair, throwing my hat away. He started to work on my buttons as I wrapped his legs around my waist and carried him upstairs. I kicked the door open as I lay Alex down, attacking his neck as he moaned.

“Did I forget to mention you have the right to remain silent?” I purred.

“Bite me” Alex growled through his teeth.

I smirked as I actually bit on his neck, earning a satisfied gasp from Alex. I trailed my hand down his right thigh as I slipped the oversized shirt off him, throwing it away. Alex ripped the rest of my shirt open as he threw it away and then popped the button on my dress pants as I stood up and kicked them off. I went to lean back down but Alex shook his head as he gripped his teeth to my boxer line and pulled them down and I moaned slightly.

“Get on the bed” he purred.

I obeyed as I lay down and Alex slipped his boxers off before straddling me. He grinned as I sat up slightly and connected my lips to his as he slowly slid down on me and I gasped into the kiss and Alex groaned.

“Fuck” I moaned, biting his bottom lip.

Alex moaned as he started to move his body and I gripped his hips tightly as I thrusted upwards.

“God Jack!” he screamed.

I grinned as I picked up the pace and earned heavy groans from Alex. He kissed me fiercely as I gripped onto his hips more. I could feel myself getting closer, fire burning in my stomach. I gave a few more thrusts before hitting Alex’s sweet spot.

“Jack!” he screamed, his body quaking.

I groaned as I slowed down, releasing my orgasm as I panted heavily and fell back on the bed, Alex in tow as he nuzzled into the crook of my neck.

“That was quick, but amazing, I love you” I whispered.

“Mm, I love you too” he soothed.

Haha Jack thought Alex meant kids :') But yay! I jumped on the band wagon and made them get a puppy. The dog's appearance is similar to my dog, that's what I based him off. But my dog's name is not Mihael his name is Haggis cause I'm Scottish so Scottish name xD. Anyways, sorry it took so long to update I got writer's block and what not.
