Mistakes
Now and Forever
I rolled over and realized I not only wasn't in a bunk but I wasn't even on my bus. I sat up and I found myself on a couch. I looked down and noticed I was in my bra and panties. I covered myself up and looked around on the floor for my clothes. Someone moved on the couch next to me, it was Vic. "Morning." He said rubbing his eyes.
My eyes were opened wide, I don't remember anything... anything. I noticed he was in his boxers. "Did we... like..." I said pointing between Vic and I. "No we didn't. Do you not remember?" I shook my head while breathing out a sigh of relief. "Do you?" I asked. "Yeah, You came over here hammered." "Why?" I asked really confused. "And why are we in our underwear?" I asked.
"You came over and tried to sleep with me-" I pushed my hands over my mouth. "No! I'm so sorry-" "You said it was because he did it again, and you wanted to be even for a change." I ran my hand through my hair. Oli cheated on me, again? No, it has to be a lie. I saw my shirt and leaned forward for it. "Paige, I'm gonna take a shower and get dressed. You do the same and come back I have to talk to you."
I looked at him. "What did I do?" I asked. " Nothing, I just need clarification with some of the things you said last night." He stood up and walked out of the lounge. I stood up and grabbed my shorts. I pulled them on and threw my hair into a messy braid. I held my shoes in hand and left the bus. The sun was bright but I could see the lingering storm ahead. I walked around searching for my bus. I walked by a guy wearing sunglasses.
I kissed his cheek and stole his sunglasses. "Thanks." I said back. I continued walking to my bus. I found it and opened the door. I walked back and searched through my suit case for some clothes to wear. I pulled through going through everything. I pulled out a plaid shirt and some jeans. I put on my socks and shoes. I stood up and decided to grab my phone and wallet out of my bunk.
I pulled back the curtain and there sleeping together, was Tay and Oli. I was seething with anger. They were both naked.I reached in and grabbed my phone and wallet. I shut the curtain and ran off the bus. I walked back to Vic's bus. I knocked on the door. Jaime answered the door. "Hey..." He said. "Hey, is Vic out of the shower?" I asked. "Yeah, come on in." He said. I stepped on and Vic walked out of the back lounge.
"I need to know what's going on! My boyfriend is in my bunk with another girl!" Vic nodded and pulled me to the back lounge. He sat me down next to him. "Ok, I'm telling you what you told me." "Ok." I said pressuring him to go on.
"You did the song with Oli and after you ran off stage. You were dodging the ATL guys, you found Mike and decided to go to a bar with him. You got hammered. The came back to your bus and sitting there was Tay and Oli, he sat you down and properly told you he didn't wanna see you anymore and that he thinks he loves Tay. You started to cry and ran off the bus but ran into Alex where you had an argument and then you came here and demanded someone sleep with you. You then pulled me into the back lounge and ripped off my clothes. You took off your own.
You couldn't take it upon yourself to do anything and sat down on the couch. I sat next to you and asked what was wrong. You said that you only loved one person and you weren't sure if they would even take you back after all the shit you've put them through." "Did I tell you who?" He nodded. "Will you tell me?" He looked at me. "Paige, You know who it is." I looked down at my hand I suddenly realized how lonely my finger is with out the most beautiful wedding ring on it.
I could feel the tears well up in my eyes. A smiled spread across my lips. "He'll always take you, he loves you. He'll wait forever for you." Vic said placing a hand on my shoulder. I looked up at him and started crying, I lunged forward at him and pulled him into a hug. "I love you, Vic. You're awesome." I said. I let go of him and stood up. "Thanks for the love." He said with a laugh. I ran threw the bus and opened the door. I jumped off looking around.
First thing first, I need to tell Alex. I needed to tell him that I will always love him but he was my first love, not my true love. I ran around the park. "Paige! Why are you running?!" Josh yelled at me. A crack of thunder went through the air, reminding of that the task at hand was extremely important. "I've gotta find Alex! Have you seen him?!" I yelled back. "I think he's over by his merch tent." He said. I ran over and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "Thanks." I said and ran. I found where the merch tent was.
"Alex!" I yelled and waved my hand. His head shot up and he looked at me. He smiled and I waved him to come closer to me. He jumped over the table and ran over to me. I pulled him into a hug. I still had a few tears in my eyes. "What's with you?" He asked. "Oli broke up with me." He smiled but tried to his it. "And you're happy?" I nodded my head. "I don't get it." "I know but you will." I took his hand and pulled him towards his trailer. I found us something to sit on.
"I'm not going to like this, am I?" He asked. My smiled faded a little. "No, probably not." I said. I used both my hands to cup his. "Oli broke up with me last night and got back together with Tay. I got extremely drunk and yelled at you yesterday... Do know what it was about?" I asked. "Yeah, you said I was your first love over and over again. I didn't understand and that's when you ran off." I took a deep breath. I went to speak.
"Paige, I know what this is about. You've finally made a decision and it's not me, I was never your true love. Some one made me realize, that when you love something seeing that person, whoever it is, be happy is worth everything. Some one told me one time: " I'd rather not have her than loose her. " He was right. I'd rather see you happy than loose you completely." I had tears streaming down my face, I was biting my lip.
"Alex." I said and took him into a hug. "I love you, I will always love you." "I know just not the way you love Jack. And that's really ok with me, He helped me realize that he loves you more than I could ever properly give you, you deserve him." I pulled away and looked Alex in the eyes. "Thank you, Alex." I said and kissed his cheek. He nodded. "As long as your happy." He said giving me a smile and kiss on the cheek.
He stood up and pulled me by my hands up with him. "Please go find him and tell him before I beg you to stay." He said while biting his lip, he had tears in his eyes. I kissed his cheek again and ran off. I turned around and made a heart at him. He smiled and wiped his face. I turned back around. I started running frantically. I saw Zack and ran up to him. "Za-ack." I said out of breath. He ran over to me cause I was heaving and leaned over. "Paige, you ok?" He asked.
I waved him off. "Yeah I'm fine. Do you know where Jack is?" His face went white. "Zack?" I asked. "I don't think he needs to see you right now." "Why?" I asked. "Cause he saw you with Alex last night, arguing. He said that you said love." "I did but he doesn't know what's going on." "Paige-" "Zachary Steven Merrick, I love him and I would like to tell him!" I yelled. Zack's eyes flew open. I grabbed his shoulder trying my best to be intimidating. "Where is he?"
"He's over by the stage somewhere." He said. I let go and started running to the other side of the venue parking lot. I pushed past crowds of people. I bumped into people yelling out excuse mes' and sorrys'. I saw a flash of blonde. Suddenly my heart launched it's self into my throat, giving my stomach enough room to tie itself into a knot and flip.He turned and was walking away. I ran and screamed.
"Jack!" He turned and looked at me running toward shim. I kept going, full speed. I got closer and closer and stopped in front of him. He looked a little sad. "Jack." I said and smiled. "What Paige?" He asked in a disappointed tone. I suddenly got all nervous, like prom but way worse. Like my wedding day. "Jack I-" "I know you took Alex back don't worry, I can be happy for you." "No Jack-" He just waved his hand and tried to walk away. I suddenly felt like my heart just got ripped out of my chest.
I grabbed his hand and placed it over my heart. "Jack, please don't leave. you didn't even leave and I swear I felt like I was gonna die. I can't believe I did that to you." "Yeah, it hurt. I've lived with it a long time." He said and pulled his hand away. "Jack, you don't have to live with it anymore." He didn't turn around though. "Jack stop walking away..." I didn't know what else to do. I ran to him and tackled him to the ground.
"Paige what are-" I pushed my lips to his. He kissed back instantly. I missed this so much, the feeling of his lips on my own. I missed him. "I love you, Jack Bassam Barakat. I wanna marry you, I wanna be there for, two birds of a feather now and forever." I said. He smiled the biggest grin and just stared. "I love you." He said. I bit my lip and he pulled our lips back together. He rolled us over. I wrapped my arms around his neck. "You just quoted Nightmare Before Christmas." I smiled and nodded still having our lips connected.
"Will you marry me?" He asked, he pulled away from my lips and look down at me. We were still laying on the floor. "Of course, you're my true love. I love you." I said and he smiled. He stood up and pulled me with him. He pulled out hi wallet and both our rings. "You carried them around with you?" I asked, staring at his face. I felt tears in my eyes. He blushed but never looked up to meet my gaze. "Yeah, I was waiting for you to come home to me."
He finally looked up. His right hand went to my cheek wiping away the tears rolling down. "It took longer than expected... I never should have left." He leaned in and kissed me. I wrapped my arms around his neck and he wrapped his around my waist. He picked me up and spun me around. Another crack of thunder rang and suddenly torrential down pour covered us both. He put me down and pulled away. He slipped the ring on my finger.
"I love you, Jack." He smiled. "How many times around gonna say that?" We were screaming over the sound of the rain. "I have a lot of time to make up. Forever babe." He smiled. I smiled back. "Come on let's go to my bus, we can watch a movie or something. I doubt we'll still have to play in this rain." Then another crack of thunder with massive amounts of lightening punched the sky. I nodded and Jack ran pulling me behind by my hand. I laughed at trying to keep up with him, he also gripped at my hand so tight.
We reached the bus and he pulled me on. We walked back to the back lounge. "Why were you running so fast and you gripped at me hand so hard." I asked. We were standing so close our chests were almost touching. "Cause no one is going to sweep you out from under me again." I smiled. "Take off your clothes." I said to him. "I wanna lay here in our underwear, I wanna feel your body against mine." I pulled off my shirt and he unbuttoned his skinny jeans. I took off my shorts and helped him with his shirt.
He pulled me into a kiss. Everywhere his finger touch he set off fire atop my skin. I loved how it felt though. He place his hands on either sides of my hips, rubbing little circles into the underlying bone. I placed my arms around his neck, playing with the hairs on the back of his neck.
He pulled me onto the sofa. He clicked play on the remote and Home alone started. I rolled my eyes. "What?" He asked. "Nothing, just typical Jack, I like it." I pushed him back with my head on his chest. Our legs tangled into one anothers. Jack's fingers ran through my hair and I could hear his heart beat. I felt him mouthing the words of the movie. I missed this... I missed us. I took in a deep breath, remembering how he smelled. I love it.
I turned my head and kissed his chest, he kissed my head. "Jack, I love you. I will never leave again. I will always be here." He placed another kiss to the top of my head. "I love you, too." I turned my head to look at him and he just smiled. "I love you more than you love Home alone." He looked at me weird. "That's not as much as I love you." I leaned forward and kissed his lips again. "Than I guess my love for you is unfathomable for you." I said. "Fine if were using big words... Diddo." I laughed and contined to kiss the man I am hoplessly in love with.
