My Fair Chance

Have You Seen This Girl?

Alex was lost. Mentally, emotionally and literally. One shot of whiskey turned into four, four turned into six, six turned into slurred words and dramatic thoughts. Brooklyn was eating away at his heart. Of course he didn't love the girl. That would be too easy and Alex Gaskarth never really falls in love. If anything, he hated the girl, if for nothing more than the simple fact that she rejected him. Who does she think she is? No one rejects Alex, and they damn sure don't do it for Zack Merrick.

Still, not even the idea that he hated her was enough to keep him focused on the street signs. Frankly, Alexander Gaskarth had no idea where he was. He knew that he was drunk. He knew that his legs were tired and his feet were entirely too heavy, and he knew that a girl was troubling his mind, but that was the extent of his memory.

Had it not been for the buzzing of his phone, Alex may have been lost forever. Somehow, though, he managed to dig into his skin-tight pockets and retrieve the device that was vibrating against his thigh. His bushy brows furrowed and he tried to make out the face on the screen, but his vision was too blurred. How he managed to swipe the screen will forever remain a mystery.

"Ri-Ri," Alex slurred, a sloppy grin forming on his chapped lips. "Whatcha doin' boo-thang?"

"Do I even want to know how much you've had to drink tonight?"

"Probably not. I lost count after this many," Alex held up one hand to indicate how many drinks he'd had, but that didn't even make much sense to his own brain. "Maybe it was more than that."

Not even bothering to explain to Alex that he couldn't actually see the number he held up, Rian sighed into the phone. Drunk Alex could go many ways, but one wrong word and Rian knew he'd probably never find his friend. It was easy to send a very drunk man into a very drunk rage.

"Alex, do you remember where you are?"

"Nah, bro. I made it to Baltimore but I'm not sure if I made it to Neverland."

"Neverland? Are you searching for someone in Neverland?"

"Yeee-ah.There's a cute little spitfire that I'm trying to find. Tell me, Ri-Ri," Alex snickered, his voice breaking into a song, "Have you see this girl?!"

"Alex. You wouldn't by chance be looking for.. Brooklyn, would you?"

"That's her. That's the girl of my dreams, bro."

The line went silent. Rian, who was doing his best to remain calm, was livid. The entire band and crew were, honestly. One minute, they were getting ready to go out for drinks to celebrate the start of tour, the next minute, the lead singer has gone missing. Naturally, it only took Jack a good five minutes to explain to everyone, excluding Zack, that Alex had one of his ridiculous plans up his sleeve. However, none of them had expected Alex to catch a flight back to Baltimore, knowing damn well they had a show to place in less than twelve hours.

And now, they've got a show and a drunk lead singer, wandering the streets of Baltimore, alone.

"I think I'm gonna go to sleep now, dude," Alex yawned, his body becoming so heavy that he felt like he couldn't keep going. There were lights ahead, so at least he knew he was near life, but the cold pavement felt so good against his burning-hot flesh. It would had been perfect if the world had not been spinning so quickly around him.

"Don't do that, buddy. What if I told you I could bring Neverland to you?"

"I'd say you're full of shit. No one could fly in this weather. The wind must be insane."

"Why would it be so windy, Alex?"

"Because. The world is spinning so fucking fast."

"Keep talking to me. Tell me about the weather."

As Alex began to ramble on about how fast the world was moving, Rian had a plan of his own. With his speaker on so he could still hear his friend, he began tracking the device that Alex was currently connected to. In a matter of minutes, he had Alex's exact location.

"He's in a bad part of town," Rian mumbled to Jack, concern dancing through his orbs, "you need to call Brooklyn. She's the only one he'll go home with."

Nodding, Jack began to dial Brooklyn's number. Not wanting to upset the drunk man on the other line, Rian turned off the speaker and pressed the phone to his cheek.

"You hanging in there Alex?"

Rian glanced to Jack, hoping and praying that Brooklyn would not only answer the phone, but agree to go find his very drunk friend. His drunk friend who, to Rian's fears, had become oddly silent.

"Alex? Alex, are you there?"

Notes

So this sucks, but I'm just trying to see if anyone is even still reading this. So, yeah, there's that.
