The Broken Rhythm
Chapter 10
Rhythm’s POV
“Goodnight Nashville!” My dad yells to the crowd, ending the first date of tour. I really liked it alot, even for my first ever tour it wasn’t half bad. Jack and my dad were fooling around and they even kissed while the crowd screamed Jalex. I have to say I’m gaining trust once again with men and boys in general. The whole crew is kind to me, especially Evan, I like him a lot, he’s very funny! It feels like I’m living the dream, I got a rockstar dad who loves me so terribly much, and all of his friends who love me just as much and would risk their lives’ just to protect me from evil. If this is love then I must be in heaven, someone please don’t wake me up from this dream
Alex, Jack, Zack and Rian walk off stage, well Alex runs off and comes towards me with a huge grin on his face, picking me up and spinning me around.
“How were we? Did you like it? If you didn’t I can let your stay on the bus next time or you can stay with my parents?” Alex asked quickly, putting me down and now walking to the bus.
“You were awesome! I loved it and I want to stay on tour with you, I wonder if I’m dreaming to be honest with you.” I say, answering everything in order.
“That's good, I’m glad you're here with us, your know that?” Alex says as we get to our bus.
Danny walks in the bus and then says that we all need to go to the back lounge because of his big announcement.
All of All Time Low and the crew walk into the back lounge, along with me, we all sit down but instead of sitting in a seat I take my place on Alex's’ lap.
Danny walks in a few minutes later and with a red-headed, big boobed and dumb looking girl.
“Everyone this is Sandy, my girlfriend.” He says, all of us staring in shock.
“Why is there a kid on the bus?” Sandy says, twirling her obviously dyed red hair.
“That's Rhythm, Alex’s beautiful little girl he adopted not too long ago. Don’t be mean to her though, she’s been through more than anyone here on the bus and don’t ask her anything about what she’s been through either, its a sensitive topic.”
“So why does she have all those bruises?” She says, smacking her gum and making me annoyed so I jump of Alex’s lap and I shove her out of my way and head to Alex and I’s shared bunk.
I hear some yelling between Alex, Danny and Sandy but I ignore it, nothing I can’t handle. I stare up at the ceiling of the bunk and drown out the noises to think about where I’ve go to where I am now. I was just a useless soul not too long ago, getting beaten everyday and then somehow I had gone to court, went to an orphanage and now I’m here. I’m on a tour bus towards some other destination. Most people would kill to be me right now, and if I were them I’d be wishing the same.
As I’m reminiscing into my little world of now I hear the bunk’s curtain move, person laying down next to me.
“Rhythm, I’m sorry you just had to hear all of that, but I need to lay down some rules okay?” Alex says to me, six foot body turns towards me.
“Lay them on me. I didn’t do anything wrong out there, did I?” I ask, gaining more confidence as I live with Alex.
“Okay well shoving Sandy was a little bit uncalled for but I admit I’d do the same thing. She had no right to question you just as Danny said to not ask questions, but I’ll let is slide this time. Now for rules, I don’t want you talking to Sandy. Just by looking at her I know she’s no good and just using Danny for money, that’s why I’m wary about dating people. Another thing is that when we go out shopping for food, or just in general I need your to tell me if you need anything, we don’t stop a lot so if you need something or think you're going to need something we’ll get it otherwise forget about it. Lastly if you need to talk to anyone you got me, Jack, Zack, Rian and all of the crew. I can tell you’re taking a liking to Evan so talk to him if you need to. But remember we’re all gonna be there for you.” My dad says to me, holding my hands.
“Thanks dad, I love you. Can we talk about something?” I say.
“Tell me anything.”
“What’s Jalex” I ask.
“Our fans like to think Jack and I are dating, and they put our names together so Jalex.”
“Do you like Jack?”
“I’m not really sure to be honest. If we did go out together would your mind?” He says a bit worried.
“I’d be cool with it, I saw you two kiss on stage and I thought it was cute.” I say honestly.
“Well that's good, but it’s almost midnight. We’ll be going shopping in the morning when we get some gas so we’ll get food and stuff while we're out. Get some sleep, I’ll be hanging with the guys for a bit longer but I’ll come back to sleep soon okay? Remember we're sharing a bunk.” Alex says, kissing my forehead and closing the curtain to our bunk, and letting sleep take over my body.
