"I'm going to go pee." Jack blurted in the food court.

Like I guessed, a majority of the girls knew All Time Low was at the mall. They didn't come up to them, though. Instead they pointed and whispered. One had came up and asked for a picture, and the guys were more than happy to oblige.

I was the one who took the picture.

Anyways, after going store to store acting like idiots, we got hungry and headed to the food court. Jack and Rian got Taco Bell, and I went and got some Subway. Alex and Zack didn't eat.

After Jack headed out, Alex turned to me, raising an eyebrow. He sat across from me.

"I'll make it quick," Alex began. "What's going on between you and Jack?"

I slowly sighed. I chewed on my straw. "Nothing."

Rian looked confused. "Woah, there's a thing between you two?"

I glared at Alex. "No. Nothing at all. What would be going between us, anyways? It's illegal, for fuck sakes."

Alex stayed silent, just blinking and staring at me. "That doesn't stop anything." he finally said.

"Alex, there's nothing going on, at all." I rose my voice.

"He cares about you." Zack piped in.

We turned to him.

"I can tell. He looks back at you when he's ahead, to make sure you're still there. He smiles whenever you talk. When he wasn't here, all he'd do was talk to you online, on the phone. But what confuses me is why you were a secret... Not the point. He cares for you, Macy. Do you care about him?"

"Yeah. I really do," I turned back to Alex. "I don't get why we can't be friends without people thinking there's a thing going on." My eyes slowly swelled with tears.

Jack came back to the table. From his view, all he probably saw was me glaring at Alex, Rian still stuffing his face, and Alex glaring back. "What's going on...?"

I looked up at him. No one spoke.

Except Alex. "Five bucks when she turns eighteen, you two are going to fuck."

Jack looked down at him and gave him the finger. "You don't say that sort of stuff, asshole!"

He grinned, ear to ear. "I do it all the time!"

"Not when she's around!"

I looked awkwardly at the two. "You guys talk about me when I'm not around?"

"No." they said at the same time.

"Yes." Zack said, smirking.

The guys turned to him.

"Oops." he said, raising his hands in the air.

"Anyways," I started, grabbing my stuff. "I'm going to head out."

I didn't have to. I wanted to. What Zack and Alex had said stirred my head and I didn't want to handle it anymore. I was either going to start sobbing right there, or I'd leave. Leaving was the best choice.

"Do you need a ride?" Jack offered.

I shook my head. "My friend just got off work. She works here." I lied. I was just going to call Molly and ask for a ride. I needed to leave.

"I'll call you later." he smiled.

I gave a tight smile back. "Nice meeting you all. Maybe I'll see you again."

"I plan on it." Alex looked in my eyes. I held the gaze for a second before turning away.

When I was a few feet away, I heard Jack snap. "Okay, what'd you say to her?"

I wanted to stay and eavesdrop, but I figured they'd realize that I was right there.
So I continued walking. I pulled my phone out and dialed Mol's number.

"Hello?" she answered after the second ring.

"Can you pick me up from the mall?" I asked quietly.

She hummed a "uh-huh."

Since we lived somewhat close, she didn't take long. She picked me up from the Macy's entrance.

I got in her Jeep.

"Is everything alright? You seem upset."

I swallowed a lump in my throat. "Yeah."

She pulled out of the parking lot. "Well, since you're okay... We need to start planning your birthday party. Oh, by the way, you should invite your uh... friends."
I knew who she meant.

I groaned and buried my face in my hands.
