So long as nothing in your story changes, that's fine. I'd say mostly for editing purposes. Everyone is allowed spell-check and a proof reader, I suppose. (:

Is it okay for a person to read over the fan-fiction? I always feel more comfortable if a friend reads over it.

You can make it as long as you want to. Personally, I love to read stories with length. If need be, you can make it a short-story, just no more than four chapters. By all means, if you have a good idea, don't let a word count stand in your way!

I would love to enter this contest! I know you said that there is no word count but what would be considered to long for a one-shot?
