I'm going to comment and say I like this story and that it is good.
I like this story and it is good.
The whole 'once you fall and don't get back up you get scared' thing reminds me a lot of the balance beam in gymnastics. You can't be scared of falling, that is essential.

You are partly right there, they can't lie down completely unless they're giving birth, but they do lie down in kind of like a sit position (check the link). And, don't worry, Jack will be back very soon :)) I kind of miss him aswell.
I'm not saying horses can't lie down because you're obviously experienced with them however I for some reason or another was under the impression that it hurt or killed them because of the way their intestines were placed so do they have to lie a certain way or are they completely fine with lying down? I'm enjoying the story by the way #bringjackback
