ok this is super cute and i know some cats act like real friends. also i know that cat was scared and that's why she ran but i still prefer dogs

Yay story time!
So I was just rattling about in the garden when I heard a meowinng sound, I checked, and found a cat, she was not shy, came up to me, she was obviously hungry and she had wounds all over her body. My grandparents and I had never seen her before. I gave her food and pet her, she purred and we were happy. The next few days, she always came whenever one of us was in the garden, but she preferred me. I tended to her wounds, they healed, and soon she was okay with the other cats as well. She never once bit me, nor did she scratch me, she was the lovliest cat ever.
Meanwhile, I had to leave because it was at my grandparent's house, but they say she is their companion now, she comes to them all the time, cuddles them and is just generally very attached.
So yeah, I'd say it definitely depends on the character and the experiences a cat has made in it's life whether or not it can be a good companion, and what I think about the scratching and screaming is, that she was probably very scared and felt the need to protect herself by doing these things.
Dogs and cats are different, I think cats have simply more individual character traits. I like dogs too, but cats are what I prefer :)

cats are cute and super smart and stuff but most of them dont really care about you. a dog will be your best friend! i took a cat from the streets 2 weeks ago to see if i could find a home for her but she hated my dogs, so when she got close to the biggest one, she put her nails INSIDE my neck and 'screamed' and when i put her on the floor, she ran and i've never seen her again. cats dont care if you want to help them, they will be with you cause you give them food and maybe somewhere to sleep. if it was a dog, im 90% sure that she would stay and wait for me.
