i'm sorry that you didn't like the ending. the alternate ending is actually a good idea.

I really loved this story till the end. I just hate reading stories with sad endings like that. You could always make an alternate ending and have a sequal to that one. I have seen a lot of people do that have the ending they had first, and then decide to do an alternate one where Alex did not die.
