I Had A Dream Last Night...

1/1

There it was, peering over the horizon. Home of many good memories and some I'd rather forget. It was already getting on quite late into the day, the drive out taking much longer than planned due to the stunning girl sat next to me in the passenger seat. Not that I'd change it for the world. We were currently cruising down a long straight, the last one before we hit the gambling capital of the world, Las Vegas. I glanced over to my right to see the stunning girl sat next to me, the wind whipping through her hair and the sun reflecting off of her oversized sunglasses.

"Almost there!" I shouted over to her, my voice still being partially carried away with the wind, that despite the late hour, refused to let up even the slightest bit. She turned to smile at me in return, just being able to make out her excited giggles over the roar of noise.

After another five minutes of driving down long roads surrounded by nothing but rock and sand, we'd arrived at our destination for the night, the hard rock hotel. I parked in the indoor parking lot, being too lazy to put the roof back onto my car and to open the door I tried to jump up over the door to impress the girl stood waiting for me. Just my look to fall onto my face then. We both started laughing hysterically, hers genuine laughter, mine trying to cover up the fact I'd just made a massive fool of myself on the first night of our roadtrip. I smiled knowing that my friend that lives here had kindly checked into the hotel for us earlier so all we had to do was take our suitcases up then we could enjoy everything this amazing city has to offer.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
"Oh my gosh, everything is so pretty here! Look at these lights, they're so bright!" the girl walking slightly to the left of me exclaimed. Just one look over at her and you could tell that she was loosing herself in those lights, I wish I could take a picture to savour this moment but it wouldn't do it justice. Wouldn't do her justice and wouldn't do that look in her eyes justice. By now we were stumbling home, holding onto each other's arms for dear life.

"This isn't working, we're still about fifteen minutes from the hotel!" Tay giggled in her high pitch.

"I don't have any change though babe!" I yelled back. Considering we were going through a housing area and it was almost three am we probably should have be trying to quiet our voices a small amount.

"Let's go to San Fransico then!" Tay squeaked out. Even in my drunken state I laughed at the stupidity of her idea.

"That'd cost us even more! A lot more!" I tried to get through to her.

"I don't care! We're going back to that hotel, taking whatever possessions of ours we can find and we'll get your friend to drive us!" Her eyes were bright and her smile was twenty miles wide, I just couldn't deny her. With that in mind I got my phone out of my pocket and rang my friend. The second he picked up he could tell I was drunk (why he was sober at three am I don't know), but he agreed instantly.

Not more than twenty minutes later were we stood on the sidewalk outside our hotel, two suitcases and a bunch of alcohol taken from the mini fridge in the room in our arms. I looked to my right to see the blinding flash of my headlights peering from over the top of the hill, where the entrance to the hotel car park as located. I shielded my eyes but still happily grabbed everything I could. Tay was sat on the curb, practically jumping in her seat with excitement for yet another car journey to another place she was yet to explore.

The ride passed fairly quickly, having sing alongs between the three of us to classics like Third Eye Blind's 'Jumper' and Blink-182's 'All The Small Things'. After about half an hour Tay passed out in the back seat, her head rested on my shoulder. We turned the music down when we realised Tay had slipped off while trying to maintain a quiet conversation, which resulted in me falling asleep, my head resting atop of Tay's.

-------------------------------------------------------

The next morning I woke up with a groan, I also realised I was in a bed and had no idea how I got here. I looked to my left to see a note from Jason, quickly scrawled out on one of those notes with the hotel logo on the always leave you on the bedside table. 'Managed to get you two and the luggage into a room with help from the employees. You're welcome ;)' I couldn't help but grin at the note left by Jason, he was so considerate towards others, after the amount of times I've rang him for favours while I'm drunk I don't know why he stays friends with me.

I stumbled out of bed and over to the big bay window fixed into the wall in our room. What I saw was a stunning view. The golden sandy beaches of San Francisco with the emerald green water gently rippling and lapping over the shore. I felt a smile pulling at my lips, realising how much of a treat I was in for in this beautiful city.

I was knocked out of my thoughts when I heard Tay coming to behind me, just those little sleepy noises she makes, but I still found them adorable in every way possible.

"Mornin'" she mumbled after a minute of trying to compose herself after her sleep.

"Morning" I replied back with a grin "Have you seen where we are? This place is beautiful..." I trailed off, gazing out of the window again.

"San Francisco. What time is it?" Tay spoke while trying to stifle a yawn, it was honestly one of the cutest things I've ever seen. I allowed my eyes to trail over to the digital clock blinking back at me, carefully placed right in the centre of a desk pushed again a far wall of out room. My mouth dropped open when I saw that it was already five in the afternoon.

"Ummm, yeah I think we'll only be doing the night activities of this city for today" I explained to her then the room was filled with her giggles.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

"This place is so pretty" Tay observed, braking the silence we'd fallen into. We were currently seated on the sand on a stretch of rather deserted beach. The party lights strung up around the bars quite far back into land were allowing a soft glow to reach us, only enough for our faces to be bathed in a gentle light, but we were too far forward for anyone say at the bars to see or hear us.

I took in the sight around me and couldn't help but grin. The tiny sand particles that glisten in the dimming sun, the different shades of blue and green occasionally lapping at our feet, the glow of the different reds, oranges and yellows as they hid themselves under the horizon and the beautiful girl sat next to me. It really did make me wonder how I got this lucky.

"You know" I heard a feminine voice from next to me say, "I'll never go back to Poughkeepsie, not until I have to at least." she stated, making me smile wildly at her.

"You know what else?" Tay questioned.

"What?" I responded with a laugh.

"I've never had sex on the beach." she explained looking me straight in the eye.

"Oh?" I said with a smirk as I rolled closer to her.

"Yeah, oh." she responded with a giggle.

I started to learn forward as Tay did the same, as I got closer I could feel her breath puffing out, tickling my cheeks. I closed the small gap between us and pressed my lips against hers, I could feel her smiling into the kiss.

Suddenly, I felt like I was being knocked over by a truck at full speed, everything was going fuzzy, I had no idea what was going on.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

"Wakey wakey sleepy head!" I heard Tay singing into my ear, I rolled over slightly until I was burying my face into the crook of her neck, basking in the warmth it provided on a cold winter day like today.

"S'too early" I mumbled out, the sleep still evident in my voice. I heard her laughing then felt myself being pushed over onto the other side of the bed.

"It's two PM, you're so lazy!" she squeaked out. I glanced over to the digital clock on the bedside table, only confirming her statement, that yes, it is two PM.

"Oh... In my defence I was having an amazing dream, we were in Las Vegas and beaches and bright lights and it was fun." I replied, still only wanting to go back to the beach from my dream. The golden sands and the crashing waves were enough to make me desperate to go back, in real life or just in my dreams again. Tay started giggling again at my outburst, I loved her giggle, it was like music to my ears... Wow brain, you're in extra cheese mode this morning.

"Ahh, I love you. You're so crazy, but that's why I love you, Alex." Tay replied through her laughs, which seemed to be quite a task as she was bordering laughing hysterically. I smiled a lazy smile back at her before replying.

"I love you too, Tay."
