When I Say Jump

Chapter 1

"Jack, let's going! I'm going to be late, and Mr. Gaskarth is going to kill me if I'm late again!" May was tapping her foot in an annoyed manner. Her arms crossed over her tiny chest. He long chocolate hair was pulled back into a bun and her beat up ballet slippers we neatly tied up her calfs.

"Okay, okay, calm down. I'm coming." Jack said walking down the stair in a sluggish way. He knew he was pissing his sister off, but he really didn't care. This, along with extra chores, and no social life for the next two months were his punishment for sneaking out last Friday night and not returning home until almost twenty four hours later. He bit his lip and smiled at the memory.

"It was worth it." He mused to himself. His bestfriend Rian had gotten tickets to see there mutually favorite band Blink-182. Although, the tickets were originally mean for Rian and his other friend Zack, some family matter had came up and Rian was short a person to join him on the endeavor. So, what else to do but call your best friend and have him tag along? And Jack was glad to, even if he knew the consequences of his actions. He laughed slightly to himself as May glared at him.

"Come on, Dick Face, I'm going to get in trouble. By the time we get there they'll already be done with the stretches!" May exclaimed handing Jack his leather jacket and keys.

"Bye Mom!" She called opening the door. Jack followed behind his little sister closing the door. They both climbed into their respected seats and Jack started his car up.

"May, turn the radio on." Jack commanded his sister. She did as asked and turned it on. Without looking, Jack flipped around the mix tape he made on iscomputer until he was satisfied with a song that came on. He settled for "Josie" by Blink-182 and began to mumble the lyrics to himself. May smiled fondly at her brother and began to sing along with him intimately they were both practically screaming the lyrics.

"I know that everything
Know that everything
Know that everything
Everything's gonna be fine."

The both yelled smiling at each other. The next song came on and May turned the radio and looked at her brother.

"Are you going to stay and watch my lesson?" She asked her brother in an almost hopeful voice.

"I don't know, maybe, don't you have a new instructor, do you think he'll want me to stay and cause a distraction?"

May bit her lip and frowned. "I don't know..." She trailed "He's kind of a dick," she began again, "and he's not even our teacher. He's like a student aid or something like that. I think he's the owners son or nephew or whatever. I don't know. But he's really, really good, he's been dancing since he was like, able to walk or something ridiculous like that. He's been on Broadway and all these other places. I know he's going to the same college as you on like a full dance scholarship." She finished. Jack was impressed with the last part. Although Jack wasn't the best of kids, he did not play around when it came to school. This explains why he graduated early and got a full scholarship to one of Maryland's most prestigious schools. He nodded his head as he pulled into the dance studio's parking lot.

"I guess I'll stay, unless I get kicked out, then I'll just... go to the coffee shop or something."

"Okay!" May beamed. She climed out of the car and grabbed her duffel bag from the back. Jack sighed and smiled at his sister.

He followed her into the studio. He had only been in there a few times but he knew his basic way around. To May's session room, to the main secretary offices and to the bathroom. Everything thing else was a blur or he just didn't know how to get there.

May walked to the elevator and pressed the appropriate floor number then the "Close Door" button after her brother walked in the small box with her. The buttons lit up, until they were at the top of the building were the main dancer's gym was. The doors opened and May walked out followed by her brother. She faced the large double door and sighed.

She pushed the large door open and tried to sneak in unnoticed by her instructor who was helping her fellow dancers stretch.

"Nice of you to join us Ms. Barakat." Her instructor said not looking up. Jack looked at his sister and saw the embarrassmet on her redding face.

Jack rolled his eyes. "It was my fault she was late." Jack spoke up for his sister as she fixed her bun that was beginning to sag.

Her instructor, who's name Jack couldn't remember even though him and May just got finished talking about him, looked up at him, annoyance written on his face.

"And you are...?" He asked walking away from his student and over to Jack.

"Jack, Jack Barakat. I'm May's brother." Jack stuck his hand out being polite. Alex looked down at his hand and frowned. Jack saw the look in his face and dropped his hand to his side. We fuck him, he was just trying to be polite.

"Please make sure that the next time May has a session, she is not late. I do not have time to dilly dally with my student when there are moves that need to be taught." With that he turned away and went back over to help his student he was working with before.

Well, it looked like Jack wouldn't be staying today, or ever for that matter.
