Alex’s POV
I woke up and found myself being spooned by Jack which made me smile as I started to trace my finger up and down Jack’s arm which made him sigh loudly as he moved closer to me and began to wake up.
“Damn we missed breakfast.” Jack said sleepily which made me chuckle.
“I have cold pizza down the side of the bed on the floor if you want pizza.” I said and Jack turned his nose up.
“It’s too early for pizza.” Jack mumbled and I rolled my eyes as I lifted his arm up and got out of bed.
“Where you going?” Jack asked and I smiled.
“To relive my bladder if you really want to know.” I said and Jack sighed.
“Too early and hungover for your sarcastic mouth.” Jack said and I smiled.
“Get used to it sunshine because it’s going nowhere.” I said and walked into the bathroom and used the toilet and I looked at the shower and decided to have a shower while Jack was either dying or waking up.
We left the hotel and we was back at Jacks just relaxing while Jack was doing some work in the sitting room.
“I was thinking.” I said and Jack looked over his laptop at me and I couldn’t help but think how cute he was with his glasses on.
“About what?” Jack asked and I looked down.
“About giving up my apartment and moving in with you.” I said as I messed with my hands and I heard Jack move and the sofa dipping beside me.
“Okay I can understand if you don’t want me too now and that you want me out of here because I make too much of a mess and everything.” I said and Jack made me look at him and he kissed me softly which I returned.
“I want you too move in. So you can phone the people today and say you don’t want the apartment and we can get the rest of your stuff today.” Jack said and I smiled.
“Are you sure?” I asked quietly and Jack kissed me again.
“I’m 100% sure about this.” Jack said quietly.
I couldn’t help but smile as I looked at Jack as he stood up and went back to the other sofa and went back to work.
“Thank you.” I said and Jack looked at me.
“Why you saying thank you?” Jack asked confused.
“For not giving up on me and believing I can change.” I said and Jack smiled.
“Your very welcome and I wouldn’t of given up on you even if you begged me.” Jack said which made me smile and I let Jack get on with what he was doing and I went to sort my apartment out.

I was at work getting glasses of the table and I went back behind the bar where Alec stood next to me.
“So you haven’t been at work for 3 nights now, where have you been?” Alec asked and I looked at him and smiled.
“Oh you got the D from Jack?” Alec said as he raised his eyebrows.
“Nope not yet, but I went to a really fancy party and went to this fancy hotel where the cushions probably cost more than what was my shit box apartment did.” I said and Alec frowned at me.
“Wait what does that mean? Your leaving us?” Alec asked and I shook my head.
“It means I’ve moved in with Jack. I’m not leaving here, you guys are family and I wouldn’t leave here.” I said and Alec smiled at me.
“Okay you are going to have to tell me what happened at this party and at the hotel.” Alec said and I chuckled as I rolled my eyes.
“You sure you’re not gay?” I asked.
“If I was then I would of snatched you up ages ago.” Alec said and I frowned at him.
“Don’t worry, I don’t think Jack would like sharing you anyway. So tell me the juicy details about what happened.” Alec said and I told Alec what happened.
“You know, I’m starting to think you actually come here to see the girls dance and that your not really gay.” I said since like always Jack was here for a drink.
“And it’s not for that reason, I quite enjoy watching you behind the bar.” Jack said and I just rolled my eyes at him.
“That’s what you say but I know your eyes are glued to the girls.” I said and I heard Alec chuckled from behind me.
“Who’s eyes wouldn’t be on them, those customs don’t leave much for the imagination.” Alec said and I frowned at him.
“See, he gets me. Anyway you know girls don’t float my boat and you know how I feel towards you.” Jack said as he had some of his drink which made me frown at him.
“You haven’t said anything yet.” I said to Jack as I walked off to give some customers their drinks before I went back to collect some glasses and then I was back behind the bar.
“I take it the conversation we was having has now been discontinued?” Jack asked just as Ness showed up.
“You guessed correctly.” I said as I got Ness her usual drink and gave it too her which made her smile.
“So your the famous Jack our Alex talks about.” Ness said and Jack looked at me and then back to Ness and offered her his hand.
“So he does talk about me then?” Jack asked and I rolled my eyes as I huffed and went off and cleaned tables and sort tables out and hoped Ness doesn’t say too much which I trust she won’t.
“Well someone is in a grump tonight.” Jack said as he walked into the bathroom while I was having a shower.
“I’m not in a grump.” I said and Jack chuckled.
“Yeah you are, I can tell when your not in a grump and you are in a grump.” Jack said and I looked down and ignored Jack.
“Lex talk to me. Is it because I was watching the girls?” Jack said as I finished having a shower and quickly dried myself off and I wrapped the towel round me and stepped out the shower.
“It’s nothing okay, just drop the subject.” I said as I walked past Jack and went to what was my room and sat on the bed which is something I haven’t done for a while.
I looked up and saw Jack leaning against the door frame.
“I know you want me to drop the subject but I want to explain myself how I feel towards you.” Jack said and I sighed as I stood up and walked into the wardrobe and put some bottoms on and walked back out to the room.
“If you know I want the subject dropped then why are you continuing the conversation?” I asked as I sat on the bed again.
“Because we’re both adults here and so we are going to talk about it and we don’t act like children here.” Jack said and I looked down and looked at my wrists and I felt dirty for some reason.
“Can we talk about this later? I want to be on my own at the moment.” I said quietly.
“Your stooling this Alex.” Jack said with a bit of seriousness in his voice.
“I’m not stooling.” I said quietly as this feeling inside me was bubbling away and I haven’t felt it for a long time.
“Then why don’t you want to talk about this?” Jack asked and I felt some tears roll down my cheeks as I look away from Jack.
“Because I’m scared okay, I’m scared because the last person I felt like this towards abused me. How I can think you could like someone like me because I’m a nobody, I should be nothing but shit on your shoe because that’s all what I am is shit on people’s shoes.” I said loudly as I looked at Jack and I didn’t care if I was crying now.
“Wait I thought you was just with your pimp and he sorted you out to people from a young age.” Jack said confused.
“It doesn’t matter okay.” I whispered as I got off the bed and walked past Jack and went downstairs and sat down on the sofa.
I don’t know how long I was left alone for but Jack came into the sitting room and since I was now lead on the sofa I felt Jack lift my legs up and sitting down on the sofa and he started to mess with my leg hair.
“You might not think it matters but it does matter Alex.” Jack said and I sniffed as I shook my head and hid my face in the sofa as I just broke down.
I felt myself being pulled up and arms being wrapped around me as I cried into Jack’s chest.
“It’s okay, everything is going to be okay now.” Jack said quietly into my hair and kissed the side of my head.
I just shook my head as I sniffed loudly as I pulled back and looked at Jack who smiled at me as he wiped the tears which had fallen.
“Now that’s a face I never want to see again.” Jack said quietly.
I looked down but Jack stopped me and he made me look at him as he kissed me which I returned and I could tell Jack wanted to take it further but he didn’t want to at the same time.
“Please.” I whispered and Jack frowned at me but he realised and smiled at me as he kissed me again.
I moved so I was straddling Jack and Jack moved and picked me up as I wrapped my legs round as we started to make out.
We got to a room where Jack out me down and he stood back and I automatically looked down and felt like I got this all wrong.
“I’m sorry, I’ll just go.” I said quietly as I grabbed a hoodie and I went to walk past Jack and he caught hold of my arm.
“Why you Sorry?” Jack asked and I looked down.
“Because I’m just stupid okay. Just let me go okay.” I said and I know Jack was confused.
“I’m very confused now Lex.” Jack said and I shook my head.
Jack let me go and I felt him watch me walk off and I went downstairs and went to sit outside.
I have no clue how long I was sat outside for but I felt someone sat next to me and the smell of hot chocolate filling my nose.
“Now it’s late and bloody freezing, how about we go back inside and talk.” Jack said and I shook my head.
“It’s late and you have work in the morning, it’s already late I can’t keep you up away longer.” I said quietly as I picked the hot chocolate up and started to drink it and smiled slightly.
“You coming to bed?” Jack asked dropping the subject and I shook my head.
“I’m not tired, but you can go I’m just going to stay here.” I said quietly and Jack sighed at me but accepted it.
“Okay, don’t stay out here for too long.” Jack said as he kissed the side of my head and he got up and left me alone and I felt a tear roll down my cheek again and it was going to be one of those nights where I couldn’t stop crying.

I woke up and found myself in bed which made me frown as I don’t remember falling asleep and I sat up and noticed a note on Jack’s side of the bed and I read it and basically saying Jack had gone to work and that he had phoned me in sick so I wasn’t going to work tonight and that Karen was going to be in.
I was making myself a drink when someone walked through the front door but I didn’t turn round because I was too busy staring at the tea bag I was messing with.
“Lex?” I heard Jack asked as he stood next to me.
“Yeah.” I said quietly and I felt Jack’s hand on my arm.
“I’m really worried now Lex.” Jack said quietly and I looked at him.
“I’ll be fine, just give me until the end of the week and if not any better then you’ve got to take me to psych.” I said quietly and Jack frowned at me.
“I found my paperwork with what’s wrong with me. I can’t talk about it but you can read it. It’ll answer your questions you have of me.” I said and Jack nodded.
I watched Jack turn round and picked up my big file of paperwork.
“I’ll understand if you want me out after reading that. I can also understand if you hate me as well.” I said which made Jack frown at me.
“Just read and you’ll understand.” I said as I walked off and went to my room.
I was lost inside my head when someone sat in the bed and I look and saw Jack.
“Well that wasn’t really a nice thing to read.” Jack said as he put my file on the bed.
“What can I say a lot of shit has happened.” I said quietly as I looked at my file.
“Yeah a lot of shit has happened and I generally wouldn’t wish what has happened to you on anyone.” Jack said softly.
“I can understand if you want nothing to do with me now.” I said as I rolled over and looked at Jack and he lead down on the bed and wiped a stray tear away which was rolling down my cheek.
“What I’ve read isn’t going make me not like you any less than what I do now. I just have to show you I’m not like them and that I just have to look after you.” Jack said softly which made me smile as I sniffed quietly.
Jack pulled me into his chest which I allowed and he held me close to him and he kissed the top of my head.
“I promise I’ll look after you and protect you. I also promise I’ll never hurt you.” Jack said quietly and I pulled back slightly and looked at him.
Jack kissed me which I returned.
“Get some rest, you look exhausted.” Jack whispered and I nodded as I let my eyes shut with Jack’s heartbeat lulling me to sleep.
I woke up and I was alone in bed and it was dark outside which made me frown and then the smell of food being cooked came to my senses which made my stomach rumble loudly and I forced myself to get out of bed and I went downstairs.
I walked to the kitchen and saw Jack cooking in just his trackies while drinking a glass of wine and I couldn’t help but smile as I walked towards the island and sat on one of the chairs.
“Something smells good.” I said which made Jack jump as he turned round to look at me with a smile on his face.
“Well I hope it tastes okay.” Jack said and I smiled as Jack poured me out some wine and gave it too me.
“Thanks.” I said quietly as I watched Jack cook us food.
“It’s nice to have someone to cook for these days.” Jack said and I looked at him.
“Didn’t you cook for Sam?” I asked as Jack dishes up the meal.
“Nope, to be honest me and him lived separate lives. I just wanted someone to come home too and he just wanted money.” Jack said.
“Surely that was more lonely than not being with someone.” I said and Jack smiled.
“Yeah I guess I was lonely. Maybe that’s why I spent more time at work than with him. But Sam wasn’t exactly the best company in the world.” Jack said.
“If he was like that, why did you ask him to marry you?” I asked and Jack chuckled as he walked over and put my food in front of me.
“I dunno, It’s not as if I’m getting any younger and most of my friends are married and have families and I guessed I felt like I needed to fit in but I’m actually better off without that asshole and I feel like I’ve found someone better than Sam.” Jack said and I smiled at him as I started to eat my meal and I couldn’t help but hum at how good it was.
“Was Sam older or younger?” I asked as I looked at Jack as I chewed my food.
“He was 2 years older than me.” Jack said and I nodded as I looked down.
“And the fact I’m 8 years younger than you doesn’t concern you.” I said as I ate more of my food.
“Nope, age is just a number and if your soulmate is younger than you then that’s how it is.” Jack said and I looked at him.
“You think you see me as your soulmate? Please you can do better than me.” I said and Jack put his hand on my knee and I frowned at him.
“Yeah I really do and I don’t think I can do better.” Jack said and I looked down not knowing what to say but Jack made me look at him.
Jack lent forward and kissed me which I returned but this kiss felt different and I smiled as I cupped Jack’s face as the kiss got more heated and Jack pulled back and looked at me as we both panted slightly.
Jack caught hold of my hand and gently pulled me to stand which I allowed.
I could see in Jack’s face he was looking for any warning signs that I was going to freak and I smiled at him as I caught hold of his hand.
“I won’t freak.” I whispered as I turned round and we went upstairs.
We went to Jack’s room where Jack pulled me towards him which made me giggle as I put my hands on his chest as I looked at him and I felt Jack mess with the bottom of my top and Jack looked at me for permission and I nodded as Jack took my top off and looked at my chest which made me look down but Jack made me look at him and he kissed me again which I returned and it quickly got heated and Jack turned us round and pushed me against the wall which made me gasp when my bare back hit the wall.
I pulled back and looked at him as I took his top off and only just noticing his Jack skeleton tattoo which made me frown.
“Never put you as a tattoo person.” I said and Jack chuckled.
“Well I am, surprised you never noticed before now.” Jack said and I traced my finger over the tattoo.
“It takes me a while to take all the details in.” I said quietly and Jack smiled as he kissed me again and as he did so he picked me up and walked us over to the bed and we got down to business.
