Tough Lover

.

Alex’s POV

“So now I have some random dude in my apartment. Not complaining too much though he’s good looking and he actually tidies the apartment.” I said to one of the people I’m friendly with on the streets. This one happened to be called Robbie.
“Then why don’t you go with him then? Beats having to to do this for the rest of your life and feeling dirty.” Robbie said as they went to pass me the joint but I shook my head to it.
“Because he’s just gotten out of a relationship and why would someone with money be interested in a low life like me?” I said and Robbie looked at me.
“Come on, it’s not like your like the rest of us, you’ve got you head on the clean side of things and you ain’t that bad looking either. So what if he’s just gotten out of a relationship doesn’t mean you can’t help him fuck the problems away.” Robbie said and I just rolled my eyes at him.
“Note to self I’m not coming to you for relationship advice.” I said as I walked off since I had a customer.

“Where the fuck have you been? We’ve been busy and you weren’t here.” Alec said as I quickly walked behind the bar.
“Oh yeah the place looks really busy, anyway it doesn’t concern you where I have been okay. The main thing is I’m here now Alright.” I said as I looked at Alec who frowned at me.
“What?” I asked confused on why he was frowning at me.
“Why do you have a black eye?” Alec asked and I looked down and looked back up at Alec again.
“It doesn’t concern you okay. Just don’t keep looking at it.” I said as I turned round to do some work when Alex caught hold of my arm.
“It does concern me, we are family here and we look out for each other.” Alec said and I looked at him.
“This doesn’t concern you okay. I’m fine so just let me do my job.” I said and I walked off and went to clear some tables up but couldn’t really move fast because every part of me just hurt.
When I got back to the bar I looked up and saw Jack.
“Oh Christ now what, did Alec call you to say that I’m fucking broken or whatever bullshit he has said.” I said bluntly and Jack frowned at me.
“I fancied a drink so I came here and also to ask if there’s a spare key.” Jack said and I rolled my eyes at me and just walked off leaving Alec to deal with Jack.

It was closing time and I was putting my jacket on and was walking out the door when someone caught hold of my arm and I looked and saw it was Jack.
“I don’t have time to talk, I have somewhere to be.” I said as I pulled my arm out of Jack’s hold and went to walk off again where Jack stood in front of me and I looked at him and sighed loudly at him.
“What the fuck do you want Jack!” I said loudly and Jack frowned at me as he turned round and walked off which confused me and then Jack pulled up in a car.
“Get in.” Jack said and now it was my turn to frown.
“Thanks, but I really need to be somewhere.” I said and Jack lent over the seat and opened the door and looked at me.
“That person can wait, you need food and a drink so I’m taking you for food and to have a drink.” Jack said and I looked down and smiled slightly as I walked towards the car and got in it.
“And for the record you’ve just lost me 200 dollars.” I said as I crossed my arms over my chest which made Jack chuckle.
“Well I can pay you the 200 dollars if you really must.” Jack said as we drove off somewhere.
“Well I guess dinner and drinks are on you then.” I said and Jack chuckled.

We sat in a comfortable silence until we got to this restaurant and I looked and couldn’t help but look at it with a opened mouth.
“Okay, when you said food I thought you meant like a McDonald’s or something like that not a fucking posh restaurant.” I said as I looked at Jack as he got out the car and I followed his lead as watched as Jack gave the car keys to this man and walked round and stopped when he got to me.
“Well you’ve been working hard and you deserve a treat.” Jack said and I frowned at him slightly.
“A treat is not having to go on the streets for a night and going to bed at a normal time. This isn’t a treat more like a date.” I said and Jack chuckled.
“Well I can assure you that this isn’t a date but in fact a treat of fine dining instead of whatever crap you eat.” Jack said and I rolled my eyes.
“What’s wrong with a pot noodle or super noodles?” I asked and Jack smiled.
“It’s not good food, now come on food isn’t going to wait for us.” Jack said and walked off and I followed a couple steps behind him.

We was sat round the table and to be honest I felt really out of place here.
“Relax, you have a right to be here as well.” Jack said quietly.
“Says a guy in a suit used to this lifestyle compared to the street kid who is in jeans and a tatty shirt.” I said and Jack rolled his eyes.
“Believe it or not I was once where you was.” Jack said as I scoffed and drank some of this wine and sat back in my seat.
“Please, you grew up around money. I can tell, you have the face of someone who grew up with money.” I said as my stomach grumbled since I was really hungry and food wasn’t here yet.
“Maybe so, but I do know what it’s like on the streets.” Jack said and I sat forward and crossed my arm on the table.
“Family kicked you out because you like dick and not tits?” I asked and Jack looked at me hard.
“Not the conversation to be having in a public place Alexander.” Jack said seriously and I just smirked at him.
“Yes sir.” I said and Jack frowned at me as I stood up.
“I’ve got your back.” I whispered in his ear as I headed towards the toilets and had a piss and looked at myself in the mirror.
“Just don’t go there, it all ends in tears.” I said quietly to myself as I washed my hands and dried them and went back to join Jack where our food was waiting.
“Damn this looks good.” I said to myself as I picked my knife and fork up and started to eat the food which made Jack chuckle and I looked at him.
“How old are you?” Jack asked and I frowned at him but I was going to answer the question anyway.
“22, what about you?” I said and Jack looked shocked at how old I was.
“Still a baby, but I’m 29.” Jack said and I scoffed.
“I’m not a baby thanks, got enough life experience than most people my age.” I said.
“Also explains why you lack manners and so blunt about everything.” Jack said and I laughed sarcastically.
“I have manners thanks and for your information I’m not blunt, I’m just blunt round certain people and sadly you are in the group of people where I can be blunt to and not worry about you getting butt hurt about it.” I said and Jack laugh quietly and it was a laugh I didn’t like from past experiences.
“And I think you don’t give a shit if I get butt hurt or not and you will still be blunt.” Jack said and I resisted the urge to clap sarcastically.
“Someone has finally figured me out.” I said quietly as I had some more of this food.
“You got family?” Jack asked and I shook my head as I looked at Jack.
“My mother died when I was 8, my so called dad was never in my life.” I said and Jack frowned at me.
“You have no family?” Jack asked carefully.
“Well the guys at the club and on the streets are my family. As for blood relations, nope I have none of that.” I said and Jack smiled sadly at me.
“I don’t want sympathy for it, it happened a long time ago and I’m over it.” I said quietly and I started to pick at my food.
“Thanks for the meal Jack, it was lovely.” I said as I stood up and walked out the restaurant and tried to find my way home.

By the time I got home it was really late.
“Jesus Alex I’ve been worried sick about you!” Jack said as he stepped towards me but I took a couple of steps back.
“I never asked you to worry about me.” I said as I looked at Jack.
“Well someone has to worry about you.” Jack said and I sighed.
“You’re aren’t my mother, my mother is dead and six feet under! That is the only person I would allow to worry about me but since she’s dead I don’t want anyone to worry about me!” I shouted and I grabbed a thicker jacket and turned round and got hold of the door handle when Jack spoke.
“Don’t go to the streets, don’t let me kick you out of your apartment.” Jack said and I sighed loudly.
“I don’t want to spend the night with a roof over my head.” I said quietly.
“But even so don’t let me kick you out, it’s not even my place.” Jack said and I sighed.
“The streets are home to me, I was given this place when I didn’t want it. Just let go to the streets for tonight and I’ll be back tomorrow.” I said as I opened the door and walked out before Jack to say anymore.

I went to the park and found my spot and lead back in the grass and looked at the sky and sighed loudly when I was looking at just clouds which was annoying but I stayed there u til I was cold and I moved to find a better place to sleep for the night.
