"Alex, There will be a new person coming here today, Around noon" Kelly, My nurse came into my room and sat down on my bed.
My eyes snapped open in horror. I hate when new people come. I never know if... They're coming.
I looked at her and she smiled sadly "I haven't even gotten to the bad part." She frowned "Wh-Wh-What?" I whispered delicately.
She is the only person I talk to Because she's proven that she's a protester. They can't hear me when I'm with her unless they're in the same room possessing a human.
"Were out of room in other rooms. So he has to share your room" He voice was soft, not knowing how I'd react. Obviously, it wouldn't be a good reaction.
"WHAT!" I shouted. Quickly clasping my hands over my mouth after I did. Looking around frantically "Ke-Kelly they heard" I whimpered, she shook her head "Sweetie, no one heard. I promise"
I looked over at her with tear-brimmed eyes. "Wh-What if he's... You know..." I whispered. She shook her head "Background check and everything. He's safe. Gets a little angry sometimes but that's it"
I nodded, still unsure. "Promise?" She nodded "Now let's get you your pills. Yeah?" I nodded and followed her to her office, Where I took my pills.
I had to be monitored now since last month when Hillary told me I had to save up the pills and take them all. Hillary hasn't been around much since. She's mad that I'm still alive.
"What you thinking about Lex?" I sighed "Hilary" she nodded and frowned "She here right now?" Shaking my head I sat down on her couch "She's mad... Shes mad because I didn't listen to her properly. I didn't save enough pills"
Kelly sat forward "You do know Hilary is only a voice, right?" I sniffled "Yeah... But she's also my only friend..." She quirked an eyebrow at me "Okay! I have Patrick but... I can't speak to him." I mumbled
She shook her head "lunchtime, Alex" I nodded with a small sigh and walked out. As I stepped out of Kelly's office I saw who I assumed was the new kid being pushed in, a look of disgust on his face, The look fell though, when we made eye contact.
I averted my gaze and quickly made my way to the lunch hall... Oh, he definitely looked like one of them.
