Glow
The following week the boys were set to do acoustic performances and in-store signings which are things I know that they love doing. I love when they go acoustic, especially Alex because it really showcases his voice which I couldn’t love more. Meanwhile, I’m focusing on my ovulation to see which days I’m most fertile because although I did say that we're just gonna see what happens, I'm definitely ready for kids now. I have never been in a better place during my life, so what better time than now?
While Alex was still out getting groceries, I put on Last Young Renegade and pressed shuffle and got to cleaning. I quickly fell in love with the album which showed another, more serious side to them and it's an outstanding group of songs.
Step outside in the midnight rain
King 'n queen of the streets again
Got young blood running through our veins
And it keeps us numb like novocaine
Alright
We can go all night
'Cause we got a whole lot of fight in us
And I see a long road
That we gotta follow
Before tomorrow catches up
Oh, just take it easy
Hold onto this feeling
All our friends are leaving
And we ain't got nowhere to go
Caught up in the afterglow
"Can't stay here, but ya can't go home"
Did you hear that line somewhere before?
And you look just fine on your own
But we look better in the afterglow
Alright
We can go all night
'Cause we got a whole lot of fight in us
And I see a long road
That we gotta follow
Before tomorrow catches up
Oh, just take it easy
Hold onto this feeling
All our friends are leaving
But we ain't got nowhere to go
Caught up in the afterglow
We ain't got nowhere to go
Caught up in the afterglow
Oh, just take it easy
Hold onto this feeling
No, we don't need a reason
'Cause we ain't got nowhere to go
Caught up in the afterglow
When the lights go down
Come find me in the afterglow
Waiting to be found
I'll meet you in the afterglow
When the lights go down
Come find me in the afterglow
Waiting to be found
I'll meet you in the afterglow
I was wiping down the table in the dining room while Baz and Peyton were chilling in the living room.
"Hey guys. Where's mama?"
The last track was playing when I heard footsteps. I turned around during the first chorus, pressing pause and placed a hand over my heart when I saw Alex.
"How long have you been standing there?" I said with my heart racing.
"Since the beginning of that song. Let it play."
"Alex..."
"Please. I love it when you sing along to our music."
As comfortable as I am with singing ATL or hell, anything else around him, sometimes I just don't feel like it and I don't understand why. I bit my lip as I looked at how adorable he was being right now, so I surrendered and gave in.
"You're so lucky I love you. You can hear it once we get the groceries in the house."
"We? I'm gonna bring them in."
Just as I opened my mouth to speak, he interrupted me.
"No. I'll take care of this. You've been cleaning, babe."
"Ok."
I finished that and went searching for the sweeper, so I could run it; it was the last thing I needed to do. Ten minutes later, I unplugged it and rolled it down the hallway, so I could put it away when I heard the fridge shut; all of a sudden, I was hungry, but I knew that would have to wait till I continued playing Afterglow for Alex.
"I'm done." I said.
I walked into the dining room to find him sitting with his feet propped up on another chair.
"Awesome."
"Can I sit here?"
"What's the magic word?"
I rolled my eyes.
"Please."
"Nope. Try again." he said with a smug look on his face.
"You're a dick."
"That's too many words."
"How about..."
Instead of actually asking the question, I sat in his lap, trying to get him to change his mind. I pressed my lips to his and placed his hands on my hips; he gripped them and moved his feet, so I could sit. When I did so, he had a sad and pathetic look on his face.
"Have I ever told you that you're mean?"
"A few times, yes."
I propped my feet up on his legs to further irritate him.
"Really mean."
I laughed.
Then, he began tickling my feet and wouldn't let them go.
"Come on, Alex. Stop." I said in a not so serious voice.
"Nope."
"For fuck sake's, let them go."
I was getting moody now.
"I'm not gonna play that song if you don't stop."
"You’re lying.”
“I’m not.”
When he saw my phone beside me, he reached for it and grabbed it.
“Give it, asshole.”
He just stared at me.
“I’m not kidding. Can I just have it?” I asked, sighing.
After seeing the look on my face, he gave me my phone back and let me go.
“Thank you.” I said annoyedly.
I got off the chair and went to the fridge to get something to drink.
“I thought you were gonna-“
“Chill out a minute. I’m thirsty. Cleaning’s a lot of work.”
He sighed.
“You’ll be okay.” I said giving him a sympathetic look.
Once I took a drink, I actually started the song and I saw him smile which caused me to melt. How the hell am I supposed to focus? When his vocals began, so did mine and he looked like he was enjoying every single second of it. He brought his lips to mine when the song was over and took me by surprise, but it was the best surprise ever as I brought him closer to me. He picked me up and sat me on the freshly wiped table.
“I love you.” he said, touching my face.
“I love you, too. Hey. I need to talk to you about something.”
“Is everything okay?”
“Great. You know how we said we were gonna wing it with us having kids?”
“Of course.”
“I’m keeping track of what days I’m most fertile.”
“You can do that?”
“Yes.”
“So, what days are you good for this month?”
“It started with yesterday and ends on Wednesday.”
“Sounds like we’re gonna have a lot of sex.”
“I have no complaints.” I said, kissing him once again.
“Wanna start now?”
“Absolutely.”
He picked me up and off we went to our bedroom.
Aw, cute update. <3 Sorry it took me a minute to comment.
Excited to see more. :)
