Another three weeks passed and I was due to have Alex come home. I wouldn’t be able to meet him at the airport, so he’s going to meet me for my ob appointment which is coincidentally the same day. "All good things I hope." he said, moving hair out of his face.

A minute later, the cold gel was on my bare stomach while I held his hand. This is how it’s supposed to be; Alex being beside me during the most important moments. “She’s beautiful and she’s not even here yet.” he said with the sonogram picture in his hand.

I placed my head onto his shoulder.

“No. I’m not.”

He kissed the top of my head.

“I love you.” he said.

“I love you, too. Hey, I wanna call Miranda and Jack tell them the great news.”

I moved and took out my phone; I put it on speaker and called her.

He laughed.

“My appointment went well. We found out what we’re having and drumroll please.”

She actually did one.

“So, when I talk to you, I can refer to her as Scarlett? Right?” Miranda asked.

“Well, I’m gonna let you go, hun. I know you have to work soon.”

I sighed.

“Unfortunately. Ok. I’ll talk to ya later, then. Bye.”

“Bye.”

I hung up and put my phone in my purse.

“Do you really have to go to work?” he whined.

“Yes. Now, who’s the baby?” I asked, raising an eyebrow.

“Can you blame me? I come back, go to this appointment and then, your job is taking you away from me for nine hours.” he said against my shoulder.

He began laying kisses on my shoulder and when I had moved my head aside, those lips were on my neck.

“Alex.” I breathed, running a hand through his hair.

“Yes?”

He looked at me with a hunger in his eyes.

“I have to go. I can’t be all hot and bothered going into work.”

“Sure you can.”

“I gotta be able to concentrate. I don’t need to mess up any orders.”

“Ok, but tonight, we both know what you're gonna concentrate on."

He smirked and I smirked back.

"I do. Let's get going. I still have to change into my work clothes."

He nodded and kissed me. The drive was a short one and I truly wasn't happy about it as I hesitated to open the door; he noticed.

"Of course I don't. I just got you back an hour-and-a-half ago and now I have to go." I said pouting.

"What time do you need me back here? Nine?"

"Yes."

And with that, I got out of the car and headed to the restaurant. I quickly changed and was in the kitchen where I saw Jayla.

"Yes and well. We found out what we're having."
