Everything is fine

Alex’s POV

It was the first day off school and I was not ready for it but it was the case of having to be and being there for Eddie since he needed me as I know the other kids would pick on him.
“You know your outfit literally screams out that your gay.” Eddie said and I chuckle.
“Well I am gay.” I said and Eddie chuckled.
“You ready for today?” Eddie asked as we walked to school.
“Nope, wish I was high though.” I said and Eddie looked at me.
“Don’t worry, I won’t do nothing stupid. I’ve got to look after you.” I said as I messed his hair up and he just glared at me and we got to the school and since mum already picked everything up for us so we went into the school.
“What lesson do you have first?” I asked and Eddie looked at his time table and he smiled which meant it was maths and he was really good at thanks to him having autism.
“Well good luck but I’m sure you won’t need it.” I said and Eddie smiled and he went to his lesson and I went to my lesson.

I was kicked out of my first lesson for disturbing the class and the second lesson too bad at least I managed to stay in that lesson and now it was sports.
I don’t do sports and always skipped this lesson in England.
“Gaskarth.” The teacher said and I groaned loudly to myself as I walked over to him.
“You called.” I said as I lent against the wall.
“Why aren’t you getting changed?” The teacher asked.
“Let’s see because I don’t do sports.” I said sarcastically and the teacher frowned at me and just glared at me.
“Well you do now so put you gym kit on.” The teacher said and walked off.
“Well actually I don’t and you can’t force me to do something I don’t want to do.” I said and the teacher stopped and looked at me hard and marched over to me.
“I can make you do something, and you are doing this lesson.” The teacher said and I looked at him.
“Technically you cant because it’s against my human rights.” I said and the teacher frowned at me.
“Christ your one of those.” He said as he crossed his arms.
“My mother is a lawyer. So yeah hate to say it sunshine I’m one of those students.” I said sarcastically.
“And also I have no gym kit so you can either send me out of class and I’ll find something better to do with my time.” I said and the teacher kept on glaring at me.
“So I’ll take that as get out of my class.” I said and walked off.
“That’s a after school dention Mr Gaskarth.” The teacher said after me.
“No can do, got things to do.” I said and walked out the changing room.

School had finished and I was just waiting for Eddie to come out when the boy with the blue strip in his hair walked over to me.
“So your the kid which challenged the sports teacher.” He said and I looked at him and blew the smoke out of my mouth since I was smoking.
“So what if I am, What’s it got to do with you.” I said attitude rolling off me.
“Just wondered, not many people challenge him like you did today.” The boy said.
“Well I’m here to push everyone buttons and see how long it takes for me to get out of this shithole.” I said and the boy nodded.
“Say you want some weed? I’ve got some on me and I don’t want it.” The boy said and I frowned at him.
“What’s the price?” I asked.
“Nothing, just think of it as a welcome to the shithole.” The boy said.
“Thanks but I’m not smoking that stuff anymore.” I said and looked round him to see if Eddie was close but he wasn’t and I had a bad feeling.
“Look I need to find my brother.” I said as I walked back towards the school.
“Does he look at lot like you and seems really awkward around people?” The boy asked and I stopped and looked at him.
“Why?” I asked seriously and the boy shrugged his shoulders and I walked over to him quickly and pinned him to the wall by his throat.
“Tell me Why the fuck do you want to know.” I growled and the protectiveness for Eddie shined through.
“Some kids was gathering around him, I don’t know what was going on so I just walked past.” The boy said and I squeezed on his throat harder.
“Tell me where.” I growled.
“The main corridor.” He struggled out and I let him go and ran towards the main corridor.

Sure enough there was a huge group of people gather shouting fight and I knew I had to get in the middle of it and beat the little bastard which was hurting Eddie.
I ran over and pushed my way through and saw this kid really beating the shit out of Eddie and I went over and pulled the kid of Eddie and punched him really hard and kept on doing that until I felt he had gotten the message.
By the time I was done the kids face was pretty beaten up and bloody.
“Don’t you ever go near my brother again and if you do I will fucking kill you.” I growled and by which point a load of teachers showed up and everyone walked away and I went over to Eddie who was curled up in a ball while the teachers went over to the other boy.
“Eddie, let me look at what they have done to you.” I said softly as I sat next to him and Eddie shook his head.
“No, you are not Alex.” Eddie sobbed and I touched his arm which made Eddie look at me.
“Lex.” Eddie sobbed and sat up and threw himself at me and I held him close to me.
“It’s okay Ed, I’ve got the little bastard back for this.” I said quietly and I hugged him.
Eddie pulled back and I looked at his face and it was all busted.
“Alexander, Edward. My office now.” The head said and I looked at him and Eddie went back into his shell and moved off me so I could stand up and stand in front of him in a protective way.
“That bastard beat him up. Eddie would hurt a fly.” I said seriously.
“I don’t care, my office now.” The head said seriously and I looked at Eddie and I helped him to stand and we went to the heads office.
We got to the heads off and Eddie sat down and I looked him over to see how back it was and it broke my heart that someone could do this to Eddie.
“It’s okay Eddie, I’ll sort this out okay.” I said softly and Eddie nodded and I sat in the chair next to him as the head sat in his chair behind the desk.

“What happened?” He asked seriously.
“That little bastard beat my little brother up.” I said in no mood for this.
“And that gave you the right to beat him up because?” The head asked.
“Because he hurt my little brother. You do realize Eddie has autism so there that means he can’t stand up for himself like the rest of us, he’s easy picking for the bullies because of what is wrong with him.” I said and looked at Eddie who was looking down not liking this situation at all.
“You should of gotten a teacher.” The head said.
“What fucking good would of you done? Pulled them apart and give that little shit a telling off and then he would be back in school the next day, don’t tell me that isn’t true because it is I’ve seen it happen.” I said seriously.
“Yes he would of gotten told off and he would of been out of school for 2 weeks.” The head said and I sarcastically clapped my hands.
“Take it from me if that little shit didn’t like school then he would like not being at school, he wouldn’t see it as a punishment he would see it as a achievement and then as soon as he walked back into this school again he would be right back at picking on Eddie.” I said.
The head looked at Eddie.
“Eddie isn’t a fighter, he is a gentle soul who sees the good in everyone. This shouldn’t of happened, he is a child with autism who’s struggles enough with coping in a school environment so he doesn’t need this to make not like school anymore.” I said and the head looked at me.
“So you’re the one who lets the fist do the talking, I’ve seen your school records and let me say you will not be getting kicked out of this school.” The head said seriously.
“Well I will make it my mission to get out of this school then. Trust me when I say I can make you life a living hell and that is what I’m planning to do.” I said and sat back in my seat.
“So what you going to do about that little shit or are my fists going to do more talking because I’m more than happy too to protect Eddie.” I said seriously.
“Punishment about other students will not be discussed with you.” The head said.
“Okay, come on Eddie let’s go home. I’m sure mum would love to hear how this school allowed you to get beaten up and then maybe they’ll get some homes truths spoken to them.” I said as I stood up and Eddie did as well.
“Don’t threaten me young man.” The head said and I chuckled.
“You don’t want to get in the wrong side of our mother.” I said and gently pushed Eddie out the office.

When we got home mum was home.
“Hey boys how was your first day?” Mum asked and she looked at Eddies face.
“What the hell happened to your face Ed?” Mum asked.
“Some little bastard beat him up. But don’t worry I laid my fists into him.” I said seriously and mum looked at me.
Mum wasn’t the sort of person who liked me beating other people up but when someone hurt Eddie she allowed me to get away with it.
“Alexander you know I don’t like violence but in this case I’m glad you got the little shit.” Mum said as she looked Eddie over.
“They didn’t bother giving you anything for your face?” Mum asked as she walked over to Eddie and looked at his face.
“They gave me nothing, they treated my like shit.” Eddie sniffed and mum smiled sadly at him.
“It’s okay sweetie, tomorrow I’ll be having words with that bloody school. But because of this you know I can build a case.” Mum said and Eddie looked at me and I smiled at him in a reassurance.
“I don’t understand.” Eddie said quietly.
“Basically if this happens again then mum will have evidence if they decide to not take notice on this. If that happens then Mum will have a strong case.” I said and Eddie nodded.
“Do it.” Eddie said quietly and mum smiled at Eddie and they went upstairs.

I was lead in bed thinking before I went to sleep when someone walked into my room and crawled into bed with me.
I knew it was Eddie as if he was going to have a bad night then he would always climb into be with me.
I rolled onto my side and cuddled Eddie.
“You okay?” I asked.
“My face hurts, and loads of flashbacks are happening from when we was over in England.” Eddie said quietly.
“Well I promise you that nothing will happen like it did in England.” I said quietly.
“I know you’ll keep me safe.” Eddie said quietly and I smiled sadly at him.
“I’m going to go for a cigarette, you staying with me tonight or you going back to your bed?” I asked.
“I’ll go back to my room, I just wanted a cuddle.” Eddie said and I smiled as I got up and stepped over him and went outside.

I was smoking my cigarette when the front door opened and shut and Mum sat next to me.
“It’s not a joint.” I said and mum chuckled.
“I know it’s not, can smell the difference.” Mum said and I smiled slightly.
“How your arms looking now?” Mum asked since my arms was scared.
“They look fucked.” I said quietly since I rarely look at my arms and I rarely wear T-shirt’s which showed my arms.
“Have you been using that stuff I suggested?” Mum asked and I shook my head.
“The scaring is too deep, I’ll get used to it one day.” I said quietly and I looked at mum.
“Sweetie you know I’ll do anything for you right, that I’m here to support you if you need someone.” Mum said and I sighed.
“I know.” I whispered and mum smiled at me.
“So there any cute boys that have caught your eye yet?” Mum asked and I chuckled since both my parents know I’m gay since I was 14 and they didn’t care since I gave the gay vibe they was just waiting for me to tell them.
“Not really, I mean there is one who keeps on trying to talk to me but I don’t know if he’s a good one or a bad one.” I said and mum chuckled.
“You’ll work it out, you’ve learnt the hard way and now you know what to look for.” Mum said and I looked down and flicked my cigarette away.
“I’m going to get an early night. Have to face the shithole again. Oh I don’t think Eddie will go to school tomorrow because of what happened.” I said and mum smiled and nodded slightly.
“I know, I hope this hasn’t knocked his confidence.” Mum said and I stood up.
“I hope so too.” I said quietly and I went inside and went to my room.
Eddie had crashed in my bed which made me smile as I pulled the covers over him and I got my other pillow and grabbed the blanket I had and I lead on the floor and I got myself comfy and fell asleep as well.
