break me

feb. 03 - 3:04am

Moira was numb. Her body didn't register anything as she trudged back to her apartment five blocks away. Or was it four? Maybe six? She had lost all concept of time and space, her body was simply on autopilot now, navigating the empty streets of Tempe with her friends and roommate still at the party.

The only thing Moira was acutely aware of was the way her phone buzzed in her tightly clenched hand. She didn't even have to glance at it to know who was calling her, and she didn't feel like talking to anyone right now. It was a mistake to call someone as soon as her bare feet hit the pavement outside the apartment building, but she panicked, she didn't know what to do.

She still didn't know what to do.

An involuntary shiver ran up her spine as a sudden gust of wind brushed past her. The once knee-length dress was now ripped and all disheveled, and it wasn't doing anything to help protect her from the Arizona Winter night. Not like she could pay attention to the way her skin froze or how her teeth kept chattering. She could only focus on the sick memories that kept replaying in her head over and over again, how her body ached in a way that wasn't normal, and how everytime her eyelids shut, she just saw those monstrous green eyes staring her down and ripping out all the good parts of her soul.

Suddenly the world was spinning and Moira couldn't take it anymore. Her body collapsed and she fell to the ground in a messy, sobbing heap. Anxiety was something she was no stranger to, but this was different. It was like that monster squeezed not only her lungs but her heart. She wasn't sure if the cold in her body was internal or external. She wasn't sure if those screams she heard were in her head or falling from her mouth. She just wasn't sure of anything anymore, and it felt like the only thing she could do was lay there on some random street in Tempe and sob over what transpired in the small, dark bedroom only hours ago

At least Moira's friends were right when they told her this was a birthday she would never forget.

Hmm what the hell happened to her? I have my suspicions but I’ll have to wait and see if I’m right.. can’t wait to see how her seeing jack again goes!
