Jack’s POV

It was the day we was all going to be starting a fresh start.
I couldn’t wait to go back home and see mum and the rest of the family as it has been too long I’ve seen them in person and I’ve just missed mums hugs.
I rolled over and looked at Alex who was awake and he was just watching Jay sleep since we let him sleep with us last night as there was nothing in his room as we managed to sort it all out and either got rid of it or put it in storage.
“You ready for the new start?” I whispered which made Jack jump slightly as he looked at me and smiled.
“I’m ready. Are you sure you’re parents are going to be okay with Luna and Terri staying with them?” Alex asked and I smiled as I nodded.
“Yes as they’re coming at the end of the week and staying for like 4 weeks before they come back and go to Wales.” I said and Alex nodded looking like he was in deep thought.
My alarm went off which made Alex sigh as he sat up and looked at Jay who was still fast asleep since it was now 3 in the morning.
Alex gently climbed over me and Jay and walked out the room and a few minutes later he came back in and got changed.
“Baby, everything okay.” I said as I got out of bed and quickly checked that Jay wasn’t going anywhere and I walked over to Alex.
“Just really nervous about today, meeting your family in person and not over Skype and how he is going to behave on the plane and in the airport and if Luna is going to be okay here with Terri until the end of the week.” Alex said and I kissed him which Alex returned.
“Well my family can’t wait to meet you and Jay in person and I know mum will help with Jay if you want to go back to school or go to college like we had planned originally. Well I know you’ll have some vodka in your drink to numb the nerves since you don’t want to take medication. Just dunk his dummy in the vodka, it should knock him out.” I said and Alex looked at me with a frown.
“It’s what mum and dad did with me when they moved from Lebanon to America.” I said and Alex chuckled.
“And now look at you, your a fucking alcoholic.” Alex chuckled and I pulled him close to me and kissed him a bit hard than what I should of done.
“Shush nobody should know.” I said and Alex giggled quietly and kissed me.
“No wooing me Barakat, we have a grumpy baby to deal with as well as the suitcases.” Alex said as he walked off and checked we had everything and he picked Jay up who sighed loudly and he turned round and looked at me and I quickly got changed and grabbed all the stuff.
Luna stayed up and she saw us off and we headed to the airport.

We was waiting to get checked in and Jay was not a happy baby and he was making everyone know about it as well.
“Christ Jay just shut up okay. I know you’re not happy about being here but neither am I but I promise you’ll like it where we’re going.” Alex said as he knelt in front of the push chair.
Jay reached his arms out and Alex smiled as he picked Jay up and Jay quietened down a little.
“Now I remember why I hate traveling with a grumpy baby.” Alex said and I chuckled as I sat on the suitcase and Alex sat next to me as we weren’t going anywhere soon.
“I’m sure he’ll be okay once we move from here.” I said and kissed the side of Alex’s head.
“Still hopefully he’ll go for a nap soon anyway so we’ll get some quiet from him.” Alex said as he rested his head on my shoulder as Jay got himself comfy on Alex’s lap and watched Alex on his phone.

It took a while but we managed to get ourselves checked in and now we was waiting for our plane to get called and after Jay had his nap he was in a better which I think Alex was thankful for as he was in a grump as well.
“Glad someone cheered up.” I said as I sat on the floor to play with Jay while Alex tired to get some sleep but I doubt he would as he always needed to make sure that me and Jay was okay.
“And about time too little man.” Alex said as he messed with Jays hair.
“I’m not doing this in a hurry again.” Alex said as he sat up and lent forward and I moved and sat between his legs and Alex rested his chin on the top of my head.
“Going to agree with you in that.” I said and Jay looked at me and Alex.
“Juice.” Jay said and I looked in the bag and got Jay a juice and handed it to him.
“Ta.” Jay said as he drank his drink.
“How much longer?” Alex asked.
“We have another hour before our flight is called.” I said and Alex nodded and he stood up and went over to Jay who looked at Alex.
“I’m just going to change him.” Alex said and picked Jay up and I watched him walk towards the toilets and I looked at my phone and smiled when I saw that mum had sent a text wishing me and Alex a safe and quiet trip.
Our flight got called which made me worry as Alex wasn’t back yet and I stood up and got all our stuff and I looked round and saw Alex carrying Jay.
“Sorry it took so long, Jay found a teddy he wanted so I got him it and the que was really long. But I got us nibbles though and I had my bit off vodka so it’s your turn now and I’ve sorted Jays dummy out as well so he can have that in the plane.” Alex said quickly.
“Shit I think I do need my medication here take Jay for two seconds.” Alex said and I took Jay from him as Alex looked through the bag for his medication.
Alex took a couple and I handed Jay back to Alex which he smiled at as we walked to where we needed to board and we boarded the plane.
We found our seats and Alex gave Jay the dummy which made him frown at first but he seemed to enjoy the flavour of the vodka.
“You ready for this?” I asked as I looked at Alex who smiled at me.
“I’m ready for this new adventure.” Alex said quietly which made me smile and I kissed Alex who returned my kiss and we looked at Jay who looked like he was falling asleep already.
“How much vodka did you put on his dummy?” I asked quietly and Alex shrugged his shoulders.
“Don’t know but as long as I can get some sleep I don’t really care right now.” Alex said and I just rolled my eyes.

Luckily Jay was out of it for the whole flight and Alex managed to get some sleep as well so we was just walking through customs and getting our luggage and after we got our luggage we went looking for mum who was picking us up.
“So what does you mum even look like?” Alex asked and I looked at him with a frown.
“You’ve seen what my mum looks like.” I said and Alex rolled his eyes at me and Jay screamed loudly which made me look at him since he was in his pushchair.
“Can I help little man?” I asked as Jay started to laugh at what he was doing.
“The kid is nuts.” I said and Alex chuckled.
“Have you just realised this very important bit of information.” Alex said as we went looking for mum.

“Jack.” I heard someone say which made me frown and I looked round and saw mum with a sign saying welcome home which made me smile as I looked at Alex.
“Don’t let us stop you.” Alex said softly with a smile and I walked over to mum and pulled her into a huge hug which she returned.
“Never thought you be coming back Jacky.” Mum said quietly and I kissed the side of her head as I pulled back and looked at her.
“Well I’m am, I also brought Alex and Jay with me.” I said and looked behind me where Alex was giving Jay a cuddle.
“Is that Alex and Jayden?” Mum asked and looked at me as I nodded.
“Yep, that’s the boyfriend and your grandson.” I said and mum looked at me confused.
“Alex asked me if I wanted to adopt Jay and I said yes so Jay is my son.” I said and mum smiled widely and pulled me into another hug.
“Introduce me to these handsome boys then.” Mum said and I chuckled as I walked over to Alex and Jay.
“Mum this is Alex and Jayden.” I said and mum smiled as she gently pulled Alex into a hug being careful of Jay who was giving her a dirty look.
Mum said something to Alex and he smiled sadly at her as he looked at me and he smiled at me.
“Come on, you both must be really tired.” Mum said as she took a suitcase and Alex put Jay in his pushchair and we followed mum to the car.

We got home and there was a welcome home banner across the door which made me smile and I looked at Alex who looked unsure.
“Babe.” I said softly and Alex looked at me.
“You okay?” I asked as mum walked over to us.
“You okay boys?” Mum asked and I nodded.
“Yeah, hey we need some space. We’re just need to sit down and get our thoughts.” I said and mum nodded.
“Want me to take Jay for you?” Mum asked and Alex held Jay closer to him.
“We’ll be fine mum.” I said and she nodded and went inside and I looked at Alex.
“Can you hold Jay for me please.” Alex said quietly and I nodded and took Jay of him and Alex sat on the top step and he started to smoke a cigarette.
“Baby are you okay?” I asked and Alex nodded.
“Just very tired and jet lagged and I have a pounding head ache and I just want cuddles.” Alex said and I sat next to him.
“Don’t sit him next to me while I smoke. Don’t want him thinking that smoking is a good idea.” Alex said and I put Jay beside me blocking the smoke from him and kept a hold of him.
“Well we can go in settle down and have a coffee and you can meet everyone and then you can have a nap and have cuddles.” I said and Alex looked at me.
“We’ve probably got painkillers inside as well if you want painkillers.” I said and Alex nodded as he looked behind him.
“I thought my house was big.” Alex said quietly and I chuckled.
“Would of thought that mum and dad would of downsize when all of us grew up.” I said and Alex smiled slightly.
“What if they don’t like me or Jay?” Alex asked.
“Well everyone loves babies and he has Izzy kids to learn stuff from and who doesn’t love you British accent, it’s bloody cute and stands out loads.” I said and Alex smiled and Jay started to whine as he climbed onto my lap and I wrapped my arms around him.
“Let’s go inside.” I said and stood up and looked at Alex who stood back up and flicked his cigarette away and walked over to me and he messed with Jays hair.
“Do you think that we can make a living out here Jack?” Alex asked thinking aloud.
“Yeah, yeah we can make a living out here. We just need to find our feet first.” I said and Alex looked at me.
“Promise we’ll stick it together.” Alex whispered and I smiled and lent forward and kissed him.
“I promise.” I whispered against his lips and kissed him again.
We went inside and let Alex face the music of my crazy family.

Alex had gone upstairs to go to bed and Jay was also in bed and I was sat downstairs picking at the dinner mum had cooked.
“You okay Jack?” Mum asked and I looked at her and nodded.
“Yeah, it’s just been a rough couple of months back I’m England.” I said and mum frowned at me as she sat next to me around the island.
“What’s been going on? Have you and Alex been fighting?” Mum asked and I shook my head.
“Me and Alex are stronger now than we ever have been. It’s just been a hard couple of months with what has happened to Alex. I’m hoping that moving back here will let Alex heal and grow to be the person who I fell in love with.” I said and mum smiled.
“I saw you two outside with Jayden. You two are meant to last, you ha e that gorgeous little boy who wants a stable family and you and Alex will give him that.” Mum said and I smiled.
I heard someone walk into the kitchen and I looked round and saw Alex.
“When you coming to bed?” Alex asked sleepily.
“I’ll be there in a minute.” I said and Alex shuffled over and perched on my lap and I wrapped my arms round him.
“Want some of this?” I asked Alex and offered him some of the food and he shook his head.
“I’m not hungry.” Alex said quietly.
“Shit what’s the time in England?” Alex asked as he stood up and walked over to the bag which we hadn’t unpacked yet.
“I don’t know.” I said and Alex got his medication which made mum frown at me.
“Oh well, better late then never.” Alex mumbled as he took his medication.
“Baby come to bed.” Alex said and I smiled at him and walked over to mum and kissed her cheek and said goodnight to her and I walked over to Alex and picked him up which made Alex smile and we went to my old room.

“Do your parents know that I have bipolar?” Alex asked as he watched me get undressed from the bed.
“No, I didn’t tell them because I believe that you should tell them when you are ready to tell them.” I said as I walked over to Alex and climbed over him.
“I’m scared Jack.” Alex whispered and I looked at him.
“Why babe?” I asked and Alex looked down.
“What if this isn’t what we thought it would be. What if we spilt? What’s going to happen to Jay if that happens. What if this completely ruins us.” Alex said as a couple of tears rolled down his cheek.
“Right now we don’t have to worry about any of that as we are settling in, there’s a lot of changes which are going to happen and we’ve just got to take this a day at a time. We’re not going to spilt because we have been through hell and we are as stronger now than what we was before Jay arrived in our lives. We’ve got this Lex and now it’s just me and you against the world.” I said and kissed Alex which he returned and I rolled us over so Alex was under me.
“Until I’m comfortable in this house I’m not having sex with your parents under the same roof.” Alex said and I chuckled.
“So having sex with your dad was fine.” I said confused.
“Okay you have a point but dad would somehow know when we was having sex.” Alex said and I smiled and kissed him.
“Anyway I’m really tired as well.” Alex said and I smiled and rolled off Alex where he cuddled into my side.
“I love you Lex, please don’t ever forget that.” I said quietly and Alex smiled.

“I love you too.” Alex whispered and he fell asleep and it wasn’t long before I fell asleep as well.
