The Lion and The Lamb

Alex's POV

"I don't want people finding out yet. I just want to enjoy this little time we have together with just us" I said as Jack walked in the bedroom with a towel wrapped round his hips losey which wasn't helping with my situation either.
"What's the worse they can do? Anyway, everyone knows we are both gay and if anyone cause any shit then I can punch them." Jack said and took his towel off leaving him completely naked.
"Jack shut the door and the curtains." I scolded as I got up and shut the door and curtains.
"Anyway, the worse they can do is throw a load of hate towards us and beat us up. I don't want that to happen. Yeah people know we are gay doesn't mean they like it, they just have to accept it. You are not punching anyone." I said and lent against the chest of draws.
"What? It's only your room next door and nobody is home. Well lucky for you that when I came out everyone who didn't like it said their peace and left me alone. I'll make sure nobody will hurt you. But babe, I get to hurt people." Jack pouted and I just rolled my eyes at him and turned round and got ready for school.
I was just putting my ripped skinny jeans on when I felt arms wrap round me.
"You trying to give me a boner?" Jack whispered in my ear and nipped it.
"Just want to keep you on your toes. Now move so I can brush my teeth and you can get dressed." I said and I pulled on one of Jacks tank tops on.
Jack bit his lip as he let me go.
"I'll be wanting sex later." Jack said.
"I'm not your sex doll." I said and walked out the room to the bathroom to brush my teeth.

"Is that your hat Alex is wearing?" Finn asked as he joined me and Jack at lunch.
"Is that you top he's wearing as well?" Josh asked as he joined us.
"Why does it matter to you." Jack said and looked at them.
"You two are fucking aren't you?" Josh said with a smirk on his face.
"No." Me and Jack said together.
"Yeah you are. You two have this new relationship vibe about you." Josh said and I looked at Jack.
"I mean, I don't give a shit if your in a relationship with each other, as long as Alex knows how demanding you are about sex." Josh said and now it was Jacks turn to look at me.
"Just tell them, I know your dying to." I said and I felt my phone go off.
"Me and Alex are together." Jack said but I didn't hear what everyone else was saying as the number which was calling me was a number I didn't know.
"Lex you okay?" Jack asked and I nodded and stood up and walked and answered my phone.

"Hello?" I said u sure of who this was.
"Hello, I'm a doctor calling from the hospital in your area." The person said.
"Why are you phoning me?" I asked really confused because dad only phoned me last night to check in on me and make sure I wasn't dead.
"Are you Dean Gaskarth son?" The doctor asked.
"Yeah I'm his son, can you tell me what is going on here." I said confused what was going on.
"You need to come down to the hospital." The doctor.
"Why? Tell me what's wrong with my dad." I said as I walked back over towards Jack and the others.
"I think it would be better if you came to the hospital where you can be told in person." And he doctor said and I rolled my eyes and I sat down at the table and put my stuff back in my bag which made everyone frown in confusion.
"Okay, I'll be there in a hour or something." I said and hung up and I went to stand up but Jack caught hold of my hand.

"Alex what's going on?" Jack asked.
"My dad is in hospital and I don't know what is wrong with him." I said quickly feeling a panic attack coming when Jack stood up.
"Want me to come with you?" Jack asked and I shook my head.
"No, I just need to go and find out what's wrong with dad." I said feeling my breaths quicken.
"Babe, sit down and calm down yeah." Jack said softly and guided me to sit down which I did.
"Calm down, once you have calm down then me and you can go to the hospital." Jack said and I nodded and tried to calm my breathing down.
"Here, focus on my heart beating and just listen to me okay." Jack said and i nodded as Jack put my hand on his chest and I could feel his heart beating which made me smile.
After a while I calmed down and Jack kissed my forehead.
"Let's go to the hospital." Jack said softly and I nodded.
"If the teachers ask where we are say a emergency came up." Jack said.
"Sure, hey Alex." Finn said and I looked up as I got hold of Jack's hand and held it tightly.
"Hope your dad is okay. He's about the only teacher everyone likes." Finn said and I nodded.
"Cheers Finn. I'll talk to you later." Jack said and we walked off.
I couldn't give a shit that everyone knew that me and Jack was together. All I care about right now is making sure that dad is okay.

We got to the hospital and I felt like I was literally about to lose my mind.
"Hey, your going to be okay." Jack said softly as we walked towards intensive care which wasn't good.
I came to a haunt when we got to the doors and Jack stopped and looked at me.
"Babe what's the matter?" Jack asked.
"Last time I went into intensive care was when I nearly killed myself and I keep on getting flashbacks from when mum was in intensive care." I said and I felt myself shake.
Jack pulled me into his chest and kissed the top of my head.
"You and your dad are going to be okay." Jack said quietly and I nodded.
"Let's go and talk to the doctor." Jack said and I pulled back where Jack caught hold of my hand and we walked into the intensive care unit.

"I..I..I'm looking for my d..d..dad." I stuttered when we got to the desk.
"What's the surname?" The woman asked and looked at Alex.
"G..G..Gaskarth." I stuttered and I felt myself shake.
"His name is Dean Gaskarth." Jack said for me and the woman smiled and looked at her computer.
"Would you like to follow me?" The woman asked and got up from behind the desk and walked round.
I felt for Jacks hand and when I found it I held it tightly.
The woman smiled and she walked off with me and Jack following her.
The woman stopped when we got to this room and I looked and saw dad with loads of tubes and wires all over him and Jack ran his thumb over my knuckles.
"I know it looks terrifying but he's in the best place." The woman said.
"What happened to him?" I asked quietly.
"I'll leave that for the doctor to tell you. I'll let him know your here." The woman said and I nodded and looked back in the room.
"Thankyou." I heard Jack say and the woman walked off.
"I..I..I can't stay here." I said quietly and looked down.
"Just wait until the doctor tells you what's wrong with him and then we can go home." Jack said and I nodded and looked back into the room.

The doctor came over to where me and Jack was sitting.
"Mr Gaskarth, I'm doctor SoSo and I'll be looking after you dad while he's staying with us." The doctor said and I nodded remaining quiet.
"What happened to Dean?" Jack asked for me.
"Mr Gaskarth was involved in a car accident, as a result of that Mr Gaskarth has got serious head injuries as well as a spinal injury and cut and bruises around his body. He also have bruised kidneys at the moment." The doctor said.
"Is he going to be okay? He's going to be be able to come back to work and all that?" Jack asked.
"At the moment it's hard to tell. With a serious head injury there could be issues along they way, but it hard to tell right now since we have in under sedation just so his brain can just have a bit of a rest as there was some swelling on the brain." The doctor said.
There was only one question I had on my mind.
"Is he going to die?" I asked quietly.
"Again it's like him being okay and coming back to work. Swelling in the brain can be serious. But hopefully the outcome will be good and Mr Gaskarth will be up and wheeling himself around." The doctor said and I looked at him.
"What do you mean by wheeling himself around? My dad loves going out, he loves his job and he won't be able to cope if he's stuck in a wheelchair." I said.
"Again it's like with his head injury, time will tell how serious the spinal injury is." The doctor said and I nodded and looked down.
"Do you want to see him?" The doctor asked.
"Not today, I'll just let him rest and I can get my head round this but I'll be back tomorrow." I said.
"Okay I'll put you and this young man in the visitors list. So I'll need your names and what relation you are." The doctor said.
"I'm Alex Gaskarth, if you haven't guessed already he's my dad." I said and the doctor smiled and nodded and looked at Jack.
"Jack Barakat, I'm Alex's boyfriend. Dean is like a father figure to me." Jack said and I looked at him and smiled.
"Okay so both your names are down so all you have to do is just say your name at the desk and you can go and see your dad." The doctor said and I nodded and stood up, Jack followed my lead.
"Just phone me if anything happens." I said and the doctor nodded and I walked off with Jack following.
When I got home I just broke down into Jack chest arms.
