I Need a Get Away

I Need a Get Away

Alex sighed as he got out of the taxi. He had no idea where he was, he chuckled sarcastically to himself, inwardly screaming "What were you thinking when you got on that plane with nothing but money?" He shook his head and started to wonder around, completely lost. As he looked up, he noticed that it was dark. He sighed and slid down the wall and placed his head in his hands, inwardly cursing himself for not asking where the nearest hotel was. He curled into a ball, figuring that he would have to spend the night on the street.

The night was starting to get colder and Alex was curling tighter into a ball, silent tears falling down his face. He was scared, really scared and he had no idea what to do. He was scared because he was Vulnerable and on the streets. He was scared because he had nowhere to go and he had little money. He had counted up what he had and figured that he had enough to last him at least a week in a relatively cheap hotel. But that was his problem he had no idea where he was and where the nearest hotel was. He would have asked someone but he was honestly terrified of everyone who walked past. He thinks that he might have ended up in the roughest place in town.

It was a few hours later when Alex was curled up into a tight ball and on the corner of a street, he was probably the only person on the street, well that was what he thought anyway until he heard footsteps coming around a corner. He bit his lip and wrapped his arms around his knees, praying that the person would either just walk past him or if they were nice, maybe help him. He couldn't decide which one he wanted more.

The footsteps got closer and closer until they stopped and there were a battered pair of converse standing in front of Alex. Alex bit his lip and lifted his head up until he saw a man with a confused expression on his face and a little girl on his shoulders. "Hey um, are you okay?" The guy’s voice was like velvet, Alex noted. He bit his lip and nodded softly.

"Y-yeah, I am" He couldn't help but blush at how prominent his British accent was. He looked up to the American man and took his hand as he offered it out for him. "Thanks" He muttered. He glanced up to the girl on the guys shoulder and smiled softly and smiled to the guy before letting the smile drop.

"Are you lost?" The guy asked rather awkwardly as he took the girl down from his shoulders and onto his hip. Alex nodded in answer to his question.

"Y-yeah, I am" He bit his lip slightly "C-could you maybe tell me where the nearest hotel is?" He rubbed his arm awkwardly to which the guy only smiled.

"Sure I can, I'm staying there. It's a bit of a walk though" Alex smiled slightly and nodded, biting his lip.

"That's okay" He nodded, he looked to the guy.

"I'm Jack" The guy said with a smile before pointing to the little girl on his hip. "And this is Lilly" He smiled, "She's my daughter". Alex nodded slightly; he was shocked because Jack really didn't seem old enough to have a daughter.

"I'm Alex" He smiled slightly and looked between Jack and Lilly. "Should we go?" He spoke a little awkwardly and shivered.

"Yeah" Jack smiled and put Lilly back onto his shoulders "It's just this way" He pointed down a long road before he started to walk. Alex nodded and started to walk alongside Jack. He glanced up to the guy as he walked and smiled to himself. He was cute; he had almond shaped eyes and a rather large node with black hair which had a splash of blonde in it. He was taller than Alex and a lot skinnier but he made the whole look work. Alex smiled before looking away with a blush.

"So Alex" Jack spoke smoothly "Judging by your accent, you're obviously not from around these parts" Alex smiled and shook his head.

"No, I'm from England" He found himself blushing although he didn't know why. He glanced up to Jack and bit his lip.

"Nice" The other man commented and kept walking "It's not too far from here now" Alex nodded and hummed softly.

"How old are you Jack?" He smiled up to the man. "No offence but you seem way too young to have a daughter" He glanced up to Lilly and smiled.

"I'm 24 and I had Lilly when I was in High school" He watched as Jack bit his lip "Her mother and I dated for a while but when Lilly was born we just drifted apart. I now only get to see my daughter every other weekend" Jack sighed and shook his head.

Alex bit his lip and looked to Jack "I'm sorry" He murmured "That must really suck" He looked at Jack with slightly sad eyes.

"It does but I get by" Jack shrugged. Alex nodded and shivered slightly. This time Jack noticed and wrapped his arms around Alex's shoulder and pulled him a little closer. Alex blushed and looked up to Jack.

"Thanks" He murmured and smiled slightly, leaning into Jack. He looked around as they walked a smile still on his face.

They eventually made it to the hotel, as they walked they made conversation about who they were and what their stories were and every now and again Lilly would chime in about her school and her friends and honestly Alex found it adorable. Within a half an hour walk, Alex felt himself falling for Jack.

They walked into the hotel lobby and up to the front desk where Alex proceeded to book himself a room for a few nights. The woman behind the desk gave him a key and Alex ran over to Jack who was smiling back to him. "Which room are you in?" Jack asked as Alex stood next to him.

Alex glanced down to his key "236" He looked back up to Jack who was just grinning.

"That's directly opposite our room” Jack grinned and Alex couldn't help but to grin along with him. They went up to their rooms and Jack took a now sleeping Lilly into his room before going back out to Alex.

Alex smiled as he saw Jack again and bit his lip as the younger boy walked over to him. "So, Lilly and I were wondering whether you wanted to spend the day with us tomorrow." He watched as Jack bit his lip with a glint of hopefulness in his eyes.

Alex couldn't help but to grin and nod, "Yeah, that sounds great" He bit his lip softly. "What time do you want to see me?" He bit his lip and smiled to Jack.

"About nine is great?" Jack bit his lip and Alex nodded.

"Yeah, that sounds great" He bit his lip with a smile. His heart started to speed up as Jack leaned in closer and lightly kissed his cheek. Alex blushed and grinned slightly, smiling up to Jack.

"Night Lexy" Jack murmured before backing up into his room. Alex grinned slightly and gave a shy wave to Jack.

"Night Jacky" He whispered and also backed into his room. He watched as Jack closed the door before walking into the room and running to the bed with a huge grin on his face. Tomorrow is going to be great, he thought to himself before stripping down and going to sleep.

+++++++++++++++

The next morning Alex woke up to a knocking at his door, he groaned and got out of bed and went to answer the door. By the time he opened the door nobody was there but Jacks door was closing just as he looked up. A small smile played at Alex's lips as he looked down and saw that that there were a pile of clothes with a note on top of them. A grin spread across Alex's lips and he picked the clothes up and took them back into the room and put them on the table before he started to read the note.

Lexy,
I figured since you travelled here with nothing but the clothes on your back and the little amount of money in your pocket that you would need clothes. You look around the same size as me so I have left you some of mine (: See you later Lexy and don't be late.
Lilly & Jacky

Alex grinned at the little note and folded it up and put it into his wallet. What? He was sentimental like that. He looked to the clock and decided that now would be a great idea to get ready so he ran off into the bathroom to shower.

It was half an hour later when Alex was showered and changed and locking up his room. He shook the handle to make sure that it was locked before skipping across the corridor and knocking on Jacks door. The door opened a few seconds later to revile a very good looking Jack. "Hey!" He grinned and looked up to Jack who just grinned back.

"Hey" The younger man grinned and stepped out of the way of the door to let Alex in, "Come in, we're almost ready" Alex smiled and nodded and stepped into the room. He looked up to Jack and smiled "Thanks for lending me some of your clothes" He blushed slightly and looked up to Jack.

"It's no problem, Lexy" Alex smiled and nodded and watched as Jack ran into the bedroom and grabbed Lilly before coming back into the room. He put a coat on her along with her shoes and picked her up and sat her on his hip. "Okay, we're ready” Alex smiled and nodded and opened the door for Jack.

As they started to walk down the corridor, Jack reached out and took Alex's hand with his spare hand. A small blush made its way across Alex's cheeks and he glanced up to Jack with a small smile who immediately returned it.

"So, what are we going to do today?" Alex asked as they finally made it out onto the street.

"Well, I was thinking that we could maybe go ice skating?" Alex glanced up to Jack and bit his lip, he had never been skating before and he honestly had no idea what to do. "What’s up Lexy?" Jacks tone had turned from one of excitement to one of worry.

"It's just that I have never been skating before and I don't know how to do it" He blushed slightly and looked down as they walked but his head soon snapped up as he heard a soft chuckle.

"I'll teach you, Lexy. Don't worry" Alex smiled and lightly squeezed Jacks hand in appreciation. He rested his head on Jacks shoulder for the rest of the walk to the ice rink.

After about twenty minutes the three of them had their skates on and were just about to get onto the ice and that was when Alex found out that Jacks five year old daughter could skate like a professional. Okay, so she couldn't skate like a professional but Alex couldn't skate at all so when he saw the little girl take to the ice like she was born to do so he couldn't help but to feel a little jealous.

"Come on then, Lexy" He looked up as he heard his name and saw Jack standing on the ice with his hand held out to him. Alex bit his lip before taking Jacks hand and shakily stepped onto the ice.

"It's not fair that a five year old can skate a lot better than what I can" He pouted and looked to Jack who just rolled his eyes.

"She's been skating for a few years now" He smiled and wrapped his arms around Alex's waist. "Now what I want you to do is to just keep your feet still." Alex nodded and did as Jack said, giggling as he felt Jack move and they started to glade along the ice. "I kind of like this" He heard Jack murmur into his ear.

"Why?" He smiled and turned his head to look at Jack.

"Because I get to hold you close" And yeah, that set a load of butterflies off in Alex's stomach and had him blushing like a madman.

"I like you holding me close" He murmured in return, his blush only darkening as the words left his mouth. He felt Jack kiss behind his ear and just smiled and sighed happily.

"You wanna try something different?" Alex bit his lip and nodded at Jacks words, squealing when he felt himself being spun around. He felt Jacks hands on his hip and he looked up to meet Jacks eyes. Jack smiled to Alex and pushed him backwards, the whole time he was leaning their faces closer together. Alex felt Jacks warm breath on his face and closed his eyes, he felt something hit his back and realised that Jack had pushed him into the barrier. Alex bit his lip and opened his eyes for a split second to see Jack leaning closer to his face.

He closed his eyes again and also leaned in to Jack, a few seconds later their lips were brushing together softly. Alex wrapped his arms around Jacks neck and kissed back softly, savouring every second. This was perfect and he never wanted the moment to end. After a few minutes, Jack eventually pulled away and rested his forehead against Alex's with a smile.

"I've wanted to do that since yesterday night" He whispered.

Alex smiled and played with the hair at the back of Jacks neck. "So have I and it was absolutely perfect" He whispered in return, looking into Jacks eyes. Jack leaned in and lightly kissed Alex again for a few seconds before pulling away with a smile.

"Come on, let’s do another lap and then we can go to do something else" He smiled and pecked Alex's lips and pulled him away from the barrier.

++++++++++++++

It took the two another half an hour to skate around the rink, this was due to Alex's lack of skill in skating but the eventually made it around and after much persuading and many bribes of ice cream they managed to get Lilly off the ice as well.

They were now currently walking back to the hotel, Lilly was wrapped up in Alex's jacket and falling asleep on Jacks shoulder and Alex was tucked under Jacks arm with Jacks coat wrapped around his shoulders because Jack insisted on it and didn't want Alex to get cold. They made it back to the hotel and they all went into Jacks room. Alex went to sit down as Jack put Lilly to bed.

Jack came back a few minutes later and sat down next to Alex and pulled the younger boy into his side. "How many nights do you have your room for?" He asked and pressed a kiss to the shorter man's hair.

"A few more nights" Alex said with a sigh, curling further into Jack. Did I forget to mention that they were now dating?

Jack sighed slightly and nodded "Well, I was thinking that when I go home, which is in a few days. Would you like to come with me? I'm not asking you to move in with me, I just don't want to lose you just as soon as I got you" Alex giggled as Jacks blushed and nodded.

"I would love to come with you, Jacky" He smiled and softly kissed his boyfriend. Alex held Jacks lips for a few minutes before standing up and walking to the door; both boys had a grin on their faces. Before Alex could open the door, Jack pulled him back and kissed him again, lightly stroking his cheek.

"G'night baby boy" He murmured before opening the door for Alex. Alex smiled and pecked Jacks lips once more.

"Night Jacky" He whispered before leaving and going into his own room, completely happy. He didn't feel scared and vulnerable any more, he felt content and happy and that was all due to Jack.

Maybe sometime brash and quick decisions were the best ones to make.
