Dark affairs

"Mickey" he exclaims smiling brightly coming towards us with opened arms.

Lisa trailing behind him with an expression I can not decipher. When he reaches us he quickly bro hugs Jack and then turns to me to pull me close to his chest. He nuzzles his face into my hair at the side of my head and whispers,

"God I have missed you so much."

This took me by surprise but before I can react the greeting is over and he pulls away turning towards Lisa

"And this is my wife. Lisa this is Mickey, I told you about her, she works for our label and was involved in song writing and audio production for us last year".

Lisa has a slightly sour look on her face but tries to smile non the less and stretches out her hand to greet me. I take it and pull her close to kiss both her cheeks and she seems a bit taken aback by my very Un-American greeting.

"Oh Mickey, yes he talked so much about you." She says after a moment of thinking. If that was true or not I couldn't distinguish but either way, I didn't care.

"Yeah, Hi Lisa, likewise, he wouldn't shut up about you." That was a blatant lie, the truth was he never talked about her but what could I've said?

"Oh and actually my name is Michelle, the whole Mickey thing is sort of an inside joke." She looks at me with a raised brow.

"Oh I see." Was all she answered. I feel the need to explain myself and start to ramble.

"well I wore a Mickey Mouse T-shirt the day we met. Alex here" I waved in his direction.
"found it hilarious telling me it reminded him of Flyzik and called me Mickey and that somehow stuck." I trailed off noticing Lisa didn't even listen anymore.

Jack broke the slightly uncomfortable atmosphere by pulling me to his side, tucking me firmly and a bit over protective under his arm and yelling a tad too loud.

"DUDE, IM SO STOKED , THIS IS GONNA BE AN AWESOME NIGHT!"

Sounding way too excited for the occasion. I look at him raising my brow in a silent question and he just shrugs back at me and pulls me forward to our designated table for dinner.

This whole double date thing had been Alex's idea. Jack and I were confused as to why he wanted us to meet because the boys usually don't hang out much when off tour. And Jack had told me he wasn't really in the mood for this before we left for the night out with his best friend and his newlywed wife so I knew his enthusiasm was completely fake.

We sat down at the small round table in the back of the restaurant and a waiter appeared almost immediately to introduce himself and hand out the menus. After a bit of small talk about what to order and the waiter taking our selections we were left with nothing to do but stare at each other.

I had never seen both of the guys so awkward and out of things to say before and I was wondering if it was Lisa's presence or mine that made both of them feel so uncomfortable.

After a few moments of silence Lisa leant forward on her elbows with her hands clasping together and a smirk on her face.
"So are you guys" she motioned between Jack and I "seeing each other?"

I couldn't help but be a bitch about it as I replied, shrugging and trying to sound very casual.

"Yeah I do but if Jack wouldn't hide behind his menu I could see him a lot better, thanks for asking."

I can hear Alex beside me snorting with suppressed laughter. She gives him a glare and turned to me opening her mouth to speak when I cut her off.

"or is this your attempt in sneakily asking if we have sex?"

She looked at me appalled and took a deep breath for what I thought was a snarky comeback but now Jack cut in stuffing a piece of the complimentary bread in his mouth and again yelling far too loud.

"YEAH DUDE, WE HAVE SEX AND ITS FABULOUS!"

That's when I lost it and I couldn't help but burst out laughing. Jack joined me in this so the only one not amused at our table was Lisa.
Alex had a smile on his face but it seemed forced as he
bent over to me and whispered.

"You were always a bombshell in bed."

I subtly but strongly shove his knee away that was touching mine and glared at him.
What kind of weird game was he playing despite sitting here at a table with his wife he shamelessly tried to flirt with me.

Okay we had a short affair while producing their album a year ago but he made it very clear that it was nothing serious and that there were no feelings involved on his side. I on the other hand was devastated when he dumped me because I really really liked this idiot but I got over it and moved on.

We hadn't spoken in months and then I randomly ran into Jack again at a party and we went on a few dates after that.
Somehow Alex found out, I suppose Jack has something to do with that and came up with this double date idea which leaves us here on this wonderful evening in this lovely restaurant in a hell of an awkward atmosphere.

We struggle through the main course with a lot of one sided conversation and uncomfortable silence going on at the table, when I clear my throat asking in a low voice.

"Does anyone know where the restrooms are?" Jack is about to open his mouth turning to point in a direction when Alex nearly jumps off his seat, exclaiming.

"I can show you, I need to go too."

With that he grabs my arm and practically drags me towards the back of the restaurant. In the corner of my eye I can see Jacks brows shoot up in confusion as his gaze follows us.
When we round the corner to the toilets, I pull out of his vice like grip and turn to him frowning.

"Alex, what the heck, let go of me. What is this all about?"

He turns to me and presses his body against mine as I walk backwards to escape the embrace until my back hits the wall.

"Mickey, you look so hot tonight, I've missed you so much, I'm so turned on right now, you have no idea what you do to me" he whispers into my hair and let's his lips graze my neck.

I'm stuck between his body and the wall and I can feel his excitement. His hands roam my body and his mouth places gentle kisses down my neck, I close my eyes and inhale his familiar scent as my head falls back against the wall to give him better access. I'm so close to giving in but a second later my brain springs back into motion and I realise what's happening. It takes all my willpower to push him away but then the anger starts to bubble up inside of me. I'm furious.

"Alex, fuck off, what a dick move is that? You were the one that dumped me and went and got married, don't you dare say you missed me while your poor wife sits out there totally oblivious to what's going on."

He looks at me with a mixture of shock and embarrassment at my outburst.

"I'm sorry" is all he manages while he looks like a kicked puppy. " but I miss you so much"

I huff and am about to turn away when a thought crosses my mind.

"You know what I think, Alex? I believe this is only your inflated ego talking here, you can't get over the fact that the two people that have pined after you for so long have now finally moved on. That the great Gaskarth who all the girls and boys want to be with, has finally lost his charm."

He stares at me dumbfounded and blinks a few times. "What two people?" He asks but his voice is shaky.

"Oh come on, you know exactly who I'm talking about." I hiss and turn to enter the ladies room.

I am taking my time in the bathroom and I lean over the sink to splash my face with some cold water as I check myself in the mirror, my cheeks are flushed and my eyes blaze with anger. Once I have cooled down and deem myself okay to go back out I straighten my dress and take a big breath.

When I come back to the table Alex and Lisa sit there with blank faces while Jack is already standing and turns around to me faking a kiss on my cheek while he whispers in my ear.

"This shit sucks, let's get the fuck out of here, this is awkward as hell."

I turn back to the table a fake smile plastered on my lips as I completely ignore Alex and grab Lisa's hand.

"Uhm, yeah it was so great meeting you but Jack and I will have to leave now, I have, like work in the morning and uhm, yeah, so it was a lovely evening and thanks for dinner..." I ramble on.

Jack who has taken a hold on my elbow and already pulls me away from the table as he throws his napkin on his empty plate again yells far too loud, earning glares from the other patrons in the restaurant.

"YEAH, DUDES, THIS WAS AWESOME, LETS DO THIS AGAIN, SOON."

As if on cue we both turn around and nearly sprint out the door and over the parking lot towards his car.

Jack slumps against the side of the car running his fingers through his hair groaning.

"I don't know what Alex was thinking, this was the worst double date I was ever on."

"I don't know either, Jack but you seriously have to work on your acting skills you were horrible just there." I tease him snickering.

"I know" he whines "I get so nervous when I feel uncomfortable and I start yelling dumb shit, I'm sorry."

He messes up his hair some more then rubs his face and looks at me through his fingers like a little boy that got caught with his hands in the cookie jar. I have to smile at his demeanour.

"Hey, how about we get dessert at the ice cream shop down the road, my treat? " I bump his side with my elbow trying to cheer him up. His head snaps up and his grin nearly splits his face apart.

"Heck, Yeah!" he shouts fist bumping the air and opens the passenger door shoving me inside before he runs around the front and jumps into his seat immediately starting the car.

"Ice cream is the only thing that can save this shitty night. I'll have a strawberry Sunday with looooooots of vodka" He shouts as he turns to reverse his car out into the road.

I have to shake my head. He is such a man child.

Okay this is my new fanfic, I haven't planned this out yet but I have the plot figured out...kinda. Well what do you think? Is it worth going on? Would you like to read something like that?
