Don't You Go and Carry On With Your Life

"Wait wait wait you're going where with who?" Kellin asked excitedly. He and Kylie were in my bathroom while I got ready for dinner with Alex. I knew he heard me the first time, he just wanted to hear me say it again.

"I said I'm going to the Brazilian Steak house with Alex." I was in the middle of putting in my contacts, but stopped to playfully roll my eyes.

"Daddy this is like the greatest news ever!" He exclaimed. "What made you change your mind? Was it counseling?"

"Kind of. Dr. Pope said that Alex and I need to spend time together to like start over and get to know each other again."

"Then you two can get remarried?"

"No, it's just so we'll have a stronger relationship." I told him.

"So maybe next year?" He asked.

I walked out of my bathroom without answering him. He and Kylie and followed me out of my bathroom and to my room. I sat on my bed to put my shoes on. Alex was going to be here a minute now to pick me up for our "friendly" dinner. It wasn't a date. This was just two guys, who used to be married, going out to eat together.

The doorbell rang as I was looking over myself in the mirror. I attempted to go get it, but Kellin beat me to it.

"Daddy your date is here!" Kellin called out as he opened the door for Alex.

I rolled my eyes and walked to the door with Kylie. Alex and Kellin were chuckling and try to stop when I got there.

"Hey, you look great." Alex greeted me.

"Thanks, so do you." I told him. "Okay Kells, I'll be back later. Make sure Kylie is in bed by eight and no visitors." I warned.

"Yeah I know. Now you two crazy kids go enjoy yourselves. He doesn't have a curfew so you can keep him for as long as you need." Kellin told Alex and I scoffed. I walked out of the house with Alex right behind me chuckling.

"I'm already starting to regret this." I grumbled as Alex pulled his car door open for me.

"Come on, I promise this will be fun!" He said.

I stepped into the Range Rover and he closed the door for me and got in on the driver's side. He started his car and drove us to the Brazilian steak house in downtown. We were silent for most of the car ride. We asked about each other's day but that was it.

When we made it inside of the restaurant, Alex told the hostess that we needed a table for two. We followed her to a booth and sat down across from each other. It was a really romantic restaurant. The lights were dim and each table had candles on them. This wasn't a place friends would really go to together.

"I'm really happy Dr. Pope suggested that we do this." Alex said as we looked at our menus.

"Why?" I asked.

"Because it's been so long since I've been able to take you some where nice. Plus I kinda like the idea of starting all over. It's like we're on our first date all over again." He said and I chuckled.

"This feels like a first date to you?" I chuckled.

"Yeah! I feel like we're getting to know each other again."

"If you say so."

"Red or white wine?" He asked.

"You know I only drink white." I playfully rolled my eyes.

"It's our first date so I don't know anything about you." He joked. A waitress came by and Alex ordered a bottle of white wine for us to share.

"So Jack, what do you like to do in your free time?" Alex asked after the waitress left.

"Are we really doing this?" I asked and he nodded. "Okay, I um spend time with my kids." I answered.

"You didn't tell me you have kids. Are they from a previous marriage?"

"Yeah, and their dad is an asshole."

"Really? Well hopefully I can treat you better than he did."

"We'll see about that." I said and he chuckled.

The waitress came back to take our food order and left us alone again.

"Do you have any kids?" I asked, playing along with him.

"Yeah two, and their dad is amazing."

"What makes him so 'amazing?'"

"Well for starters he's smoking hot." He said gesturing to me and making me blush. "He's also a great father to our kids and he was a great husband."

"Why’d you two get divorced? What happened?" I asked and he sighed.

"I made a dumb mistake that caused him to leave me. . . I cheated on him." He said.

"Oh wow. How do I know that you won't cheat on me since you've cheated on him?" I really wanted to hear his answer so I would know if he really changed.

"I've changed a lot since then. I've become more mature and learned how to solve my problems by talking instead of just running away. I've been honest with my ex-husband about what happened and why it happened so he knows that I'm serious. And I found us a couple’s counselor to help us create a stronger relationship. I've um also accepted the fact that he might never forgive me. I know it's a risky chance to try to trust someone who's cheated before. That's why I'm doing so much to fix my mistake. I want him to see all the effort I put in fixing us so he knows that I'm serious about getting him back. And trust me if I ever get him back I'd never do anything to lose him again." He explained. This was the first time I felt like he really meant it.

"It sounds like you really miss him." I stated.

"I do. I really do." He said while staring into my eyes.

"I'm sure he misses you too." I said and he smiled.

For the rest of dinner Alex and I talked about our lives outside of marriage. Of course nothing really changed, but it was still kind of fun to do. I was also happy that Dr. Pope suggested that we do that.
Now Alex and I were walking back to his car. He opened his car door for me again and I got in. I think it was just a habit of his to do that for me.

"So where to now? We can go get dessert or go see a movie? Or I can take you home if you want to call it a night?" He asked.

"Um whatever is fine. I'm not really in a rush to get home." I liked the time we spent together so far so more time with Alex couldn't hurt.

"Oh I have an idea." He said and started the car.

I didn't ask where we were going. I just sat back and looked out of the window to see if I could get an idea of where he was taking me. I noticed that we were near our old neighborhood. He made a few familiar turns until he stopped in the parking lot of a park we used to go to a lot when we were younger.

"What are we doing here?" I giggled.

"You said you didn't care where we went." He said and got out.

I took my seat belt off and got out as well. I waited by my door while Alex went to his trunk for something. He closed it and walked to my side holding a blanket.

"Come on." He said and walked towards the park. I looked around before following him.
Alex walked to an empty spot and laid the blanket down. Then he laid down on his back and stared at the sky. He noticed that I was still standing and he patted the spot next to him. I got down on my knees and turned to lay on my back next to him. I looked up at the millions of stars glowing in the sky.

"Did you honestly bring me here to look at the stars?" I asked.

"Yep." He answered.

We used to come here some nights after our dates so we wouldn't have to go home. The thought of doing it now made me smile. Alex thought space was the most interesting thing while I didn't care much about it. I just tolerated doing it for him.

"Where's the Big Dipper again?" I asked.

"It's right there." He pointed up and traced the pattern with his finger. "I've must have shown this to you like a hundred times before. Don't you want to know about any other constellation?"

"Nope." I laughed.

"Suit yourself." He chuckled. We silently stared at the stars until he spoke again. "Do you remember the exact moment we first met?" He asked.

"Yeah, it was my first day of school. I sat next to you in algebra." I said.

"No it was in English." He turned to me.

"English?? Alex it was algebra with Mrs. Simmons." I argued.

"No it wasn't. It was English with Mr. Gilbert."

"I didn't have English with that guy. I had math with you my first year that's it."

"No because I used to help you write your papers for his class."

"Lex, I sat down next to you and your friend Josh in chemistry remember? You asked me to help you with your homework at lunch one day and that's when we started to become friends."

"Oh yeah that's right." He said.

"I swear you have the memory of a gold fish." I joked.

"That was like twenty something years ago!" He defended and I laughed.

"But yet somehow I can still remember it." I said and he rolled his eyes.

"I miss bickering with you." He admitted.

"Me too." I sighed. It was weird, arguing practically ruined our marriage but it was something we both missed doing. Maybe we just missed doing anything with each other.

"I miss kissing you too."

". . . What's stopping you now?" I turned towards him to ask.

He looked at me to see if I was serious before pulling my face towards his. He connected our lips quickly and kissed me passionately. I ran my fingers through his hair and he tightly gripped my waist. He rolled over, also on top of me, and placed his left leg between mine. I smiled into the kiss and licked his lips making him open his mouth for me. His tongue immediately went to mine as the kiss got more intense. Alex slightly pushed down on my leg and I could feel he was getting hard. I was in the same boat myself. I pulled away to tell Alex we should slow down before we ended up having sex in the middle of the park, but his lips went straight to my neck making moans escape my lips instead of words. I ran my hands up his back as he sucked and bit all over the left side of my neck. There was no way I could stop him now; it felt too good.

"Lex." I moaned as he pressed his legs between my thighs.

"Tell me what you want." He mumbled against my neck.

"You. I want you." I gasped.

"We can't right here. Having sex in public is a misdemeanor. We could be charged five-hundred dollars." He said, sounding like a lawyer given he was one. "Let's go to the car." He suggested and I nodded.

We both got up and Alex picked up his blanket. Then we walked to his car and he unlocked it for us. We both got in the back seat so it would be flat like a bed. I laid down on the seat and Alex climbed on top of me. We went back to making out for a few more minutes.

Alex pulled at the ends of my shirt and I sat up slightly to let him pull it off of me. He removed his own shirt next. We both got out of pants as best as we could in the back seat. His back seat was pretty big so it wasn't that hard. He slide my underwear off of me next and kissed my thighs.

"I missed this so much." He said and threw my legs over his shoulders. He slid down lower between my legs until his face lined up with my hole. Then he began to lick it up and down making me cry out.

"Fuck! I missed this too!" I moaned.

Alex stuck his tongue in and out of me until I was begging him to stop before I came. He pulled away and leaned over to the front of the car to his glovebox to get the lube. When he was done I took the lube from him and lightly pushed him back into his seat. He sat down looking at me confused until I got on my knees in front of him. I kissed all the way up his thighs until I right between his legs. I grabbed his dick with one hand and pulled it to my mouth. He laid his head back against the headrest and placed his hands on my head. I bobbed up and down taking more of him in my mouth making him moan.

It wasn't long before he was telling me to stop. I pulled away and wiped my mouth with the back of my hand. He laid me back down on my back and I handed him the lube. He popped the cap and poured some in his hand. He coated it on himself and used the excess to stretch me a little. He climbed back on top of me and got between my legs.

"I'm not gonna last long." He warned, making me burst into laughter.

"It's okay. Neither am I." I told him. I missed sex with Alex, I really never stopped being sexually attracted to him. This was something both of us was going to really enjoy.

Alex lined himself up with me and slowly pushed in. It felt amazing to feel his body pressed to mine. Even hearing his breathing speed turned me on more. I brought his face down to kiss me while he pulled out and pushed back into me.

Alex switched to a familiar angle and bolts of electricity ran through my body.

"Fuck!" I called out and he pushed into it harder.

"There?" He asked.

"Yes." I whimpered.

He continued to abuse that spot until he cause me to come all over my stomach. I cried out his name and he leaned down to kiss me as he got closer. His thrust became sloppy and he pulled out and jerked off until he was coming on my stomach also. I ignored it for now because I was so exhausted and feeling euphoric.

Alex opened the compartment in the middle of the two front seats to grab tissues. He pulled a few out and cleaned up the mess on my stomach. Then he laid down next to me.

"That was better than I remembered it to be." I joked and he chuckled.

"That's because I've been wanting to do that for so long." He said and kissed me.

We laid down for twenty more minutes, sharing lazy kisses and talking about nothing. We finally got up and put our clothes back on. Having sex in the back of Alex's car also made me feel like we were in high school again. It felt right.

Alex let his backseat back up and we both got back in the front seats. We looked at each other and laughed once we were settled in. He started his car back up and drove in the direction of my house.

"Can we get ice cream?" I asked and pointed to the McDonald's that was coming up.

"Of course." He said. He turned into the McDonald's and went into the drive-through line. He ordered a vanilla cone for me and paid the cashier. Then handed me the ice cream cone and started driving in the direction of my house again. I thanked him and contently licked my ice cream.

"You look so sexy eating that." He said, making my cheeks heat up.

"Pervert." I chuckled.

I stuck the ice cream cone towards him to share and he ate some of it. We finished the cone together before he could get to the house. He pulled into my driveway and put the car in park. It was almost midnight so I wasn't going to make him walk me to my door.

"You don't have to get out. I can walk myself. But thank you for everything tonight. I really really enjoyed spending tonight with you." I told him.

"You're welcome, I really really enjoyed tonight with you too." He leaned over to kiss me. I pecked him on the lips a few times.

"I should go in and check on the kids. Call me tomorrow." I said and he nodded.

"I will. Goodnight Jack."

"Night, Lex." We kissed one last time and then I opened the door and hopped out of his car. He watched to make sure I made it in the house before driving off.

Once inside, I took a deep breath and leaned against the door. Tonight with Alex was perfect.

"You're home pretty late." I heard Kellin say and I jumped.

"Oh Kellin! You scared me. Sorry, yeah we um had dinner and went to see a movie." I partially lied.

"What movie did you guys go see?" He asked.

"Um that new one with Chris Pratt."

"Mhmm, did you two have fun?"

"Yeah I surprising really enjoyed going out with him tonight."

"Good I told you you wouldn't regret it!" He gloated.

"Yeah sure." I chuckled. I was just happy he bought my lie and wasn't suspicious that anything else happened. "Well I'm gonna call it a night. I'll see you in the morning." I said and he nodded and attempted to go back upstairs.

"Oh and Daddy?" He called out before I could go off to far.

"Yeah?" I answered.

"You should put an ice pack on your neck to get rid of the bruising." He laughed and continued up to his room.

I sighed but then smiled as I went to the freezer to get the ice pack.
