This Love is Dangerous

Prologue

It was hard to wrap my head around. Dad mentioned that he got a job offer in the States that paid a lot more money. He said it was a great offer and he took it. He gave us a week to pack and then we were gone. We left Essex with a simple bye and were sent to a different country. Just like that.

America was weird. Everyone smiled at one another if they passed each other in a store our just outside. It was a lot more humid than Essex. The weather was little warmer than it should be for October as well. My family blended in pretty easily among the Americans, except for our accents.

Our new house was very nice. We were located in Maryland in the rich neighborhood. The houses surrounding mine were probably just annoying business men. That was the type of environment that was around us.

My siblings took the move very well, thankfully. My little brother was excited to see America and meet some new friends, he said he was tired of the friends he had. My sister was a little disappointed at first but then was okay with it when she also was offered a position at the organization.

She was 18 so she could work with Dad. The company was about bettering the lives of homeless youth. They would travel all the time on the weekends for different events. Their work was really inspiring. Mom was a priest. She found the local church was looking for a new priest since their last priest did drugs. She quickly took the offer.

For me, I wasn't too thrilled. It's not easy going into a new high school at the age of 16. Everyone already had their friends and their clubs. I'm just going to be the random new kid who sticks out like a sore thumb. They also will probably want me to say a bunch of random words because of my accent.

We have been in America for about a week now. We all start school tomorrow. I'm going to be a junior, my little brother, David, is going into seventh grade and my older sister, Ruth, was a freshman at the university of Maryland.

That Sunday, we all sat down at the table to have dinner. Mom made a huge feast of turkey, potatoes, carrots and green beans. She also made a sugar free cherry pie.

"This all looks amazing, Mom!" David said. He grabbing his fork and stabbed into his turkey but Dad cleared his throat to make him stop.
"We always say Grace before every meal, you know this David," Mom said with a slight laugh.

Mom said thanks for the food but all I could do is pray that school was going to go well tomorrow.

Notes

Hey everyone! I was the author of a very popular story in 2013 but it sadly is no longer on the website. So, I decided to write a new one that I've been wanting to write. In this fic, Alex's family has a accent, okay? I want British Alex.

Anyways, enjoy!
