Long Live Us
Three
"Stella, wwake up we're here," Jack shook me awake and I saw we were in front of the house that was going to be our studio for the next few weeks. I yawned and stretched.
"God I am so damn tired," I rubbed my eyes as I climber out of the van.
"Let's lay down ground rules before we head in. Number 1, no couples in the same room. Number 2, no sneaking into your partner's room. Number 3, you may swear but too much will get you in trouble. And Number 4, no trouble making like fights or drinking without supervision. Am I clear," Dad said to all five of us.
"Yes," Tom replied for us. Aubree was sound asleep in his arms and Nate was leaning against him trying to stay awake. I was leaning on Jack, trying to stay awake enought to walk inside.
"Also, the girls are getting a room and the boys are getting a room. Us adults will have a room together and Mike with have his own," Uncle Rian added.
So with our rooms assigned, we all grabbed our bags and took them inside. I was bummed that we were all separated to sleep. I mean our parents let us all bunk with our significant other during Warped Tour, what was being in the studio that made it so different?
Once I had my bags in my room with Aubree, I changed for bed and climbed in, falling back asleep when my head hit the pillow.
I woke up the next morning to my dad and Uncle Jack cooking breakfast, I sat down at the island in the kitchen and yawned wide. I was tired still, but I knew I had to be up so I could get some writing done today.
"Morning, Stell," Dad greeted me.
"How are you up this early," I asked him.
"Being a father to four kids trained me to try to rise early," he replied.
"Bullshit," I replied.
"I set an alarm," he smirked.
"Knew it," I returned his smirk.
"So do you plan on writing today," Uncle Jack asked.
"I think so," I told him.
"We can work with what songs you have and we can see if we can make what lyrics you have good ones to start with for the EP. I won't make you write fresh lyrics until you guys do a full length album," Dad added.
"I can work with that," I agreed.
I was excited to get right to work. For right now, want to just enjoy being a newly signed band and just arriving to the studio. I was glad to be working with my dad as a producer to provide all the help I could use. This was going to be a grand adventure, but I was ready for it.
