Jack Barakat and Christina Lawson Engaged!

Big news for the pop punk world, as All Time Low’s Jack Barakat, 24 and Midnight’s Christina Lawson, 21 have officially announced their engagement! The couple have been dating since late 2009, as documented in All Time Low’s music concert Straight to DVD, and the two couldn’t be happier.
“Decided to take the plunge and ask Sally the big question.” Barakat posted on Twitter as a way to announce the joyous news. And yes, ‘Sally’ is Jack’s nickname for Christina, referencing Nightmare Before Christmas’ Jack Skellington and Sally.
“I can’t believe we’re engaged! I truly couldn’t be happier than I am right now. ” Christina added on her own twitter.
Things haven’t always been smooth sailing for the couple. In April of last year, Lawson was involved in a serious car accident which left her in a coma for two days. She was five months pregnant at the time, and ultimately lost the baby. The two have been understandably pretty private about this loss, saying very little publicly as Christina’s health was still on the mend and clearly the main focus for the two.
Thankfully, over a year has gone by and it looks like Chris and Jack are in a better place than they have been in a long time. Both of their bands, Midnight and All Time Low have recently switched labels (Midnight to Fueled By Ramen, while ATL returned to Hopeless) and if the band’s newly released singles have any say, their careers look like they’ll only get better.
Fans have quickly flocked in to say congratulations to the young couple. “I’m so happy for Jack and Chris!!! They’re seriously the most adorable couple evr.” One twitter user, @cindyatthedisco wrote. “Relationship goals <3”
Another user @riassadeeluv said, “Jack and his ‘Sally’ are simply meant to be. End of story.” She later added, “PS if they don’t post like a million pictures of their wedding idk I might die.”
Many are surprised that out of all the boys from All Time Low, Jack was the one to take the first step towards life long commitment, though they’re hoping that this’ll get the other two long time couples, Alex and high school sweetheart Lisa as well as Rian and Hey Monday’s Cassadee Pope to think about moving in a similar direction.
“So now that @jackalltimelow is engaged, who wants to bet Rian and Cass will be the next ones?...” @fallattheromance wrote.
@piercethemaddie added, “Just think, if he proposes now they could totally have a double ATL wedding!”
Some of their famous friends were also in on the congratulations. Pete Wentz formally of Fall Out Boy wrote, “Got to see two of my friends @jackalltimelow and @christinalawson get engaged today. So f-ing thankful to be apart of this joyous moment!”
Paramore’s Hayley Williams also commented. “WOW! Congratulations @jackalltimelow @christinalawson !!! So much love <3 <3 <3”
The couple have yet to announce a date for their wedding, though Chris did emphasize they’re in no rush to tie the knot. “Ideally I’d love a spring wedding, but I think we’ll soak in being engaged for a bit. We’re both going to be touring in the fall, so it’ll probably take a while for us to pick a date that works in everyone’s schedule.”
