"I'm Alex, Lily."
Alex's POV
Waking up in a hospital with a stranger is the last thing you'd want, it's happening to the girl that's staring back at me. I'd been curled up in a chair and noticed she'd woken up. You'd probably want to know why I'm here at all. Hospitals here have different rules, whoever travelled in the ambulance can go in with a patient. Sounds pretty dangerous. It would be if we weren't closely monitored by staff. Any funny business, then you're out. The nurse had gone somewhere so took this opportunity to get the girl to talk. Her stunning big blue eyes were still stuck in my direction.
"That's a harsh stare you've got."
Her eyes moved from side to side; maybe processing her thoughts?
"Umm...who are you?"
I quickly caught sight of a clipboard hanging over the end of the bed. I noticed the name Lily. I'd just rescued the girl from a creepy dude. There was no time for intro's. Time to find out if that was her name.
"I'm Alex, Lily."
She shook her head with wide eyes. "You know my name?" Her voice wobbled, like she was going to cry. That was the last thing I wanted.
I grabbed the clipboard, showed her the paper and pointed to her name. "Kind of obvious when it's written in big bold letters. Isn't it?" I smirked as I sat on the bed. Something in me expected her to move, which she didn't. Her glance landed on her lap.
"Oh..."
The way she seemed defeated made me smile a little. Honestly, I wasn't being mean. It was kind of cute in a way. Pretty certain she just wanted to know what was going on. I don't blame her.
Lily's gaze was once again on me. She seemed to be searching for an answer to this situation. "And for the fact, I rescued you." I smirked with the knowledge that girls tend to like the knight in shining armour type...don't they?
"What happened to me?" The blankness in her voice and facial expression wasn't exactly what I was after. I opened my mouth to tell her, just when a nurse barged in. I quickly sprung up. I'd get thrown out if she saw me on the bed with Lily.
"You need to leave," her harsh glare took me aback, maybe she did catch me. I got my jacket off the chair. "She needs some privacy."
"Yes Ma'am." I wasn't messing with her. I bolted towards the door and made a joke salute. Thankfully the nurse didn't see but I noticed Lily smirked a little as I'd left. I smiled to myself knowing I'd cheered her up for even a second.

I hope you like the first bit. I feel that the first paragraph is a bit info dumpy though. I don't actually know how often I'll be updating with more chapters because the story is still a bit rough and in random segments so need to work on it more. Let me know if you would like more. :)

I'm glad that you enjoyed this. I might think about another story as this one has been fun to write. Yes, poor Alex, it wasn't meant to end like that but with all the changes and other characters being added it just went in that direction. I know I've said this a lot already but thank you for your comments, I really appreciated getting them. :)
