Lost In Neverland
Chapter Four
I sighed as I kicked myself from the top bunk and landed carefully on the floor. I grabbed my phone from the charger and walked to the front lounge. I opened the fridge and saw there wasn’t much food which made some sense; we hadn’t stopped to buy any recently. I grabbed the box of cereal from the counter and sat on the couch with it. I know that later today Mom was going to buy food for us while dad did sound check and all the other things that musicians do. Everyone thought it was so cool that my parents were both musicians but really it wasn’t. I’d been going on tour with them for as long as I can remember. I did online school and saw the same show every night. Yeah, it was a cool experience but we weren’t at home much, I didn’t have many friends for that reason, a few acquaintances but that was really it. I’d also never had a girlfriend which was lame in itself, I was sixteen and I’ve been perpetually single, guess that’s just the way it goes.
“Mornin,” my dad said, walking into the front lounge.
“Morning. When are we getting there,” I asked.
“Within the hour, you can walk around the venue if you want, Stella might be there. I’m not really sure when they’re going to be there, I know they’re running on Jack’s clock so there’s no telling.”
I was already tired of hearing about this Stella person. She was going to be some snobby girl like every other musicians daughter. She’s the type who thinks they are hot shit when they’re actually the complete opposite. Daddy just buys her what she wants and she’s probably never heard “no” before in her life. That’s how they always were. I can say that very confidently through experience, I’ve met plenty of band member’s kids and they’re always spoiled brats. I mean, I’m not one to talk, anything I ask for I typically get but I don’t want to be on the road all the time. I want to go to school like a normal kid, live a normal life. That’s a weird thing to complain about but I just want to see what it’s like.
I sighed and stood up, returning the box of cereal to the counter. I walked to the bunk area and went through my bag, trying to find clothes for today. I heard the faint snores coming from my mom’s bunk , I was still amazed that she could sleep this well on the bus because I still can’t, I always feel like I’m going to fall out of my bunk and it doesn’t even seem to matter what level I was on. I grabbed the black skinny jeans and plain white shirt from my bed and went into the bathroom to change. I quickly brushed my teeth before leaving. I threw everything back where it belong and combed through my hair quickly before returning to the front of the bus.
“We’re here,” my dad said without looking up from his laptop.
“Thank God,” I replied.
I grabbed the cigarettes and my lighter from the drawer and pulled my combat boots on before leaving. I lit one up as I was walking around the outside of the venue. It looked really nice, I had seen it several times but it was one of the nicer venues. I wasn’t a big fan of amphitheaters because there wasn’t much to explore in them. I stomped the small amount of the cigarette that remained before going inside, where the temperature quickly changed. I thought nothing had started to be unloaded but there were boxes. I guess the crew was really on top of their shit today.
I found the areas where the green rooms were and was walking around back there. There were voices coming from All Time Low’s, guess that must’ve been their stuff because I thought we just got here. I found my parents and I went in and saw that there was some food on the table. I grabbed one of the sandwiches and quickly scarfed it down. I grabbed a bottle of water to wash it down. I continued to walk around and explore, or more like make sure that I remembered where everything was. I looked over and saw a blonde girl conversing with an older girl. My guess is that this was Stella. I guess I should go ahead and get this over with.
I began walking over to her, she was drinking water and my guess is it was her dad’s seeing as she was near a bunch of guitars and I’m pretty sure she wasn’t in the band. I ran a hand through my hair before approaching her because I had a thing about my appearance and it always had to be perfect when I met knew people.
“Hey there,” I said and she jumped slightly turning around. “You’re cute.”
I always seemed to flirt with every girl I met, just part of my charm was my guess. It also helped that I was hot, I mean, I knew I was so there’s nothing wrong with admitting it. Sure, I probably sounded super conceited but at least I didn’t hate myself which seems way too common now.
“I’m Danny, Andy and Juliet’s son,” I said, explaining who I was.
She looked at me as if she was thinking of something, it was a name how fucking hard was it? I mean she was cute but I knew her type so I had no interest in her at all. Hell, most girls were that way and there was no way around it. At least I wasn’t stupid like all those other guys who just tail all day every day.
“Stella, Alex and Wendy’s daughter,” she said after a few seconds of silence.
“Pleasure,” I replied before walking away.
I was already ready to go home, how many weeks was this tour again?
Notes
So Danny is kind of a dick and he's angsty as fuck and honestly, he gives me life. I hope you like this introduction to Danny, he's not going to be a dick all the time it's just so much fun to write this way. I really hope y'all like it, originally I was going to update later tonight or tomorrow but I had an hour slot with nothing to do and I was able to get this out.
