Lost In Neverland
Chapter One
I packed all the bags on the tour bus and rushed my husband to hurry up. Today was our daughter’s sixteenth birthday, she has never been on tour with us before because Alex and I felt she wasn’t ready for it, we still don’t. But, doing the tour with such a close friend, and Andy bringing his wife and son as well, we agreed now would be the time. But, Stella didn’t know that yet.
Speaking of Stella, she had just got home from her last day of school, and was putting into the driveway. She got the car just this morning, not from Alex and I, no, from her aunt and uncle who spoil the crap out of her. “Hey Mom, you guys getting ready to leave so soon?” I could tell by the sound of her voice she wasn’t happy about us having to leave on her birthday.
When she finished speaking, Alex walked passed us carrying her stuff, which caught her eye. “Dad? Why do you have my stuff?”
“Ask your Mother.” He spoke without even turning around to look at her.
“Mom? What’s going on?”
“Go upset and grab your last couple of bags. You're coming on tour with us.”
“What?!” I could see the shock and excitement in her eyes.
“Go before I change my mind!” I laughed as she took off running into the house. I can’t believe my baby girl was already sixteen. It feels like just yesterday I was holding her in my arms and rocking her to sleep
“She looks excited.” I heard the voice of my husband speak.
“Oh she is. Do you think Danny and her will get along fine? I know he just turned sixteen a few months ago, but, I don’t know, I’m just worried about my baby.”
“Wen, they will be fine, I promise.” He leaned forward and kissed my cheek. “Kara, Jack, and everyone else is on the bus ready to go. Just waiting on us.” I nodded my head and turned around so I was halfway into the house.
“Stella! Get down here now before we leave without you!” I shouted. Then I turned around and faced Alex again, “I still can’t believe I let you name our child after your song.”
“Hey! Stella is a great song.” He said in defence.
“Yeah, about a beer.” I rolled my eyes. Just as we finished our little conversation, a blonde girl sped passed us, suitcase in hand, and ran to the bus parked. “At least she parked her car in the garage.” I joked.
“Yeah, haha. Let’s go babe.” Alex laced his fingers with mine and pulled me with him as he locked up the house door. The same house I’ve lived in since I moved to Baltimore when I was eighteen. Sometime’s Alex and I sneak out at night and still go to the park down the road, reliving old memories. My favorite was always when we first met. He was perfect from the start, and he’s still perfect now.
