Jack lay in his bunk, staring at his phone. Maybe if he stared at it long enough and he concentrated hard, it would buzz and he'd receive a text message. It was 2:30 and half the band and crew were still out in the city, exploring and partying. Jack was driving himself a little crazy, thinking of reasons why Meg hadn't answer the text he sent two hours ago, and he thought all the scenarios he was thinking up were quite rational. Including his theory that on her train ride home, a zookeeper was traveling with a bear and that it escaped, eating Meg. He thought that Meg getting eaten by a bear on the LIRR was completely possible.

Jack tried distracting himself from thinking about the absent text by looking online for things to do the next day. There was so much to do in the city, but Jack had no clue what Meg liked and what she didn't like. And he wanted to make sure he was on the opposite side of the city from the rest of the guys. Planning out the day ahead, made Jack even more anxious about the text he still hasn't received. Every three seconds, Jack checked his phone to see if there was a text awaiting him, which made date planning very unproductive.

He debated whether or not he should send another text, but decided against it. He didn't want to seem desperate, lonely, and too eager. Now Jack knew how girls felt waiting by the phone waiting for a guy to call them, and at that moment he realized he'd never forget to call a girl to make plans for a date. Jack felt like shit thinking that he'd never hear from Meg again.

Jack's gone through so many emotions in the past couple hours, that he felt like a teenage girl PMSing like fucking crazy. First he was nervous, then happy, then nervous again, then mad at Alex for being a dick, then happy, then self-conscious, then excited when he made date plans, then anxious and worried when he worried what Meg thought about him, then sad and depressed when he never got the message back from Meg. Now he had a really big craving for chocolate. Thank fucking God he didn't go through that every month until the age of 50, and Jack was never so happy to have a dick before in his life.

BUZZ

The loud vibration of his phone against the bed and wall almost made Jack jump up and hit his head. The bus was almost silent other than some snoring here or there, when Jack checked his phone.

When Jack saw that notification on his lock screen, he squealed like a little girl, in an octave a grown man should not be able to hit, and threw his fist in the air, jamming in on the short ceiling of his bunk. Still forgetting about his sleeping crew and band members, Jack screamed, "YES!!!' Dragging out the one-syllable word and hissing out the 's'.

Next thing Jack faintly heard was a groan, followed by several curse words. Oh Matt Flyzik, being woken from his much needed sleep, was not too friendly. Jack heard mumbling and then screaming coming from the bunk across from him. "I SWEAR TO GOD, IF YOU DON'T SHUT THE FUCK UP RIGHT NOW, YOU'RE SPENDING ALL DAY TOMORROW CLEANING THIS GOD DAMN BUS!!"

The lovely James Matthew Flyzik everyone. As soon as Matt said, or rather screamed, that Jack would be stuck on the bus all day if he wasn't quiet, Jack shut his mouth and made sure he didn't make another sound. A few more curses were muttered under the tour manager's breath before the bus was once again silent.

Once Jack calmed himself from his teenage girl state, he quietly picked up his phone and unlocked it. He tapped on the 'Messages' widget, which had the red circle with a one in it, signaling that he had an unread message. He opened the text from Meg he recently received and read it, with a smile that hasn't left his face since his phone buzzed.

Sorry, fell asleep on the ride home :) ill take a train at like 2ish. Ill call when im close to the station :) excited for our date ;)

Jack had to reread the last sentence, and then pinched himself, just to make sure he wasn't sleeping. 'Ow' he thought after he pinch himself quite hard. Ok so he definitely wasn't dreaming, and now his smile was twice as wide as it was all night. 'She actually thinks it's a date! This can't be real!' Jack was overly excited, it was actually sad. He tried to make as little noise as possible, knowing that his cranky tour manager would definitely keep his word on making Jack clean the whole bus, but it was hard to contain his excitement.

After calming down for the second time, Jack realized that he still had one, not so tiny, problem. He had planned absolutely nothing for the day ahead of him that was approaching very quickly. In the hour and a half or so of sitting in his bunk, Jack had been so focused on bitching and worrying about whether or not Meg would text back, other than doing what he was supposed to. Planning his date with Meg.

Having a mini-heart attack, Jack frantically typed on his laptop, for really obscure, fun things to do. Because that was who Jack was, do the most obscure thing never heard of, and make it the most fucking amazing day ever. After searching through one or two sites, Jack finally saw something that caught his eye and clicked on the link. While reading the information on the website, Jack's grin turned to a full-on smile that kept growing bigger and bigger. Maybe not because of what he was reading, but because he began making up scenarios in his head on how his date with Meg would be like. Date. Jack liked that word, especially when he's currently the only one of the bus who didn't have a girlfriend/boyfriend. Alex had Tay. Rian had Cass. Flyzik had Jess. Vinny had Grieco. Danny had Evan. Colussy had Kate. Zack had Sandy. Jeff had Kim. And then there was Jack. Now it was finally Jack's turn at a relationship since Holly, and he was ready to give this whole "love" thing another shot.
