Don't You Go (A Riassadee Fic)

Just One More Night With You

Just One More Night With You
“I want a one night stand just one more time with you
so give me one more night with you.” “Oh, hell.”

It wasn’t the first time that Cassadee had drank herself into a fit of giggles and blurred memories. And it certainly wasn’t the first time she felt that her head might rebel against her for the rest of her life, curtesy of this horrible headache. But this morning – of which she assumed it was still in the early hours, due to the small ray of sun coming through the window – was the first morning she felt a little warmer that she did the day before.

She didn’t understand it. It wasn’t the temperature of the room, because she soon noticed that she had to pull the massive hotel cover closer towards herself. And it wasn’t because today was a special day. There was nothing unusual about this day. It was another eventful day on tour in another strictly scheduled city. Nothing unusual.

Due to the ruthless chill that claimed her body, it seemed like the previous stated “massive” cover that she had wasn’t quite big enough. But when she tried to tug the blanket closer, it was resistant.

She groaned slightly, tugging harder, but was only left with not just a cold shiver, but less cover than what she began with. With a slight groan, she turned away from the wall and faced the other side of the bed, intending to glare at whatever was keeping her from warmth, whether it be inanimate or not.

Damn.

Damn, indeed. She did glare, but only briefly before her breath hitched in her throat. No, it wasn’t an object that claimed her cover…but a person? She suddenly felt uneasiness in her stomach as whoever was on the opposite side of the bed from her started to slowly stretch out their arms.

And then, her eyes widened slightly as large, strong arms breached from the covers for a moment. She couldn’t see a face, but a short cut of brown hair. It was a man, for sure, and knowing that made a feeling of confusing regret flash in her brain. But no, that didn’t make sense. Just because a man was sleeping next to her didn’t mean that she had to feel regret. Of course, she had been drinking the night before. And yes, she knew that she didn’t remember a lot from the drinking. But just because of that, it didn’t mean that-

Oh.

She suddenly knew where the warmth had come from as a familiar, yet embarrassing heat slowly crept into her core. And of course she was shocked. She didn’t normally do this. Sure, she might share a room with another band mate, maybe. But she would never sleep with someone in her band, and-

No!

Who even was this? Was this someone from Hey Monday? Wait, what if it wasn’t? Was it someone from All Time Low? Gosh, she had hoped not. Alex had a girlfriend! Could this be him? What is this was some complete stranger that she didn’t know at all?

Now, the heat faded from her core and she was now filled with crippling fear, causing her head to spin a little. It was just a man, right? He wouldn’t bite her, right?

But there it was again, returning as quick as it had left, that damn heat that swept her core up and made her tingle. But, he did bite her. She could feel the faint marks just around her neck and collar bone as she once again tried to reclaim the seemingly forgotten cover.

But with a small forced bit of unknown courage, she really felt the need to find out who this man was. With her eyes transfixed on the back of his head, she clamped her hands down on the cover and yanked it towards herself. He barely moved. Great. She sighed, clamping down again and jerking the cover towards herself. But then, yes! It happened! He was turning, and she just barely got to see the edge of his face.

Her eyes widened more than before, if possible.

Shit.

There it was, the slowly awakened face of Rian Dawson as he stretched out once more. His brown eyes began to flutter and were unfocused until they transfixed on Cassadee’s horrified expression. He almost chuckled, but decided to just gaze. His smile was beginning to fill across his face, noting that her gaze was locked on his face, searching for some sort of answer.

She remained motionless, afraid to move. Her thoughts fought against her. She didn’t want to think that her naked – my damn, she was naked and wanted to forget that – body was next to him, let alone wonder if he was naked under the blanket.

Wait, was he naked? Did he know that they…but wait, was he drunk? Had he been drunk? Who’s hotel room was this, anyway? Was this some joke?

But no this was not a joke. Because the bite marks were real, and she was somewhat sore as she wiggled more. And as much as she didn’t want to admit it, that unforgettable heat would return to her body every few moments. But why? So what, she slept with someone. You would think that she would have more control over her body, right?

Cassadee seemed lost in her thoughts until Rian’s groggy “hi” gained her attention.
She just looked forward, unable to say anything. He spoke again and dared to pull his hand from under the cover and reach toward her face. “Hey,” he smiled after successfully touching her cheek. “Are you alive over there?”

With a slight jump, Cassadee softly slapped his hand away and nearly fell from the bed trying to cover herself. “Rian…” How do you talk about this? Better yet, how do you start?

She had managed to jerk the hotel cover along with her and wrap it around herself as she stood to her feet. He was left with the under sheet. Luckily, it was already covering him and was too thick to see through.

“Yes?”

“Um.”

There is was again. That very toothy smile that made her feel some sort of way. She wasn’t sure what it was, but it was a cross between wanting to run away and just wanting to analyze every feature of his face.

She however covered her face with her palm and muttered “are you wearing clothes?” as if she were on the verge of a nervous fit. Even if she didn’t see it, his warm smiled turned into a slight smirk as he quirked an eyebrow.

“I am not.”

The tone in his voice made her blush. He sounded somewhat accomplished, yet very patient at the same time. She also could feel his eyes. When she removed her hand, he looked at her with a lot of emotion – or that’s what she made of his unfaltering gaze and held smirk – and it made her blush even more. She straightened her posture.

“Rian, I need you to tell me what happened.”

“Well,” he paused. After a moment, he began to stand from the bed and Cassadee quickly covered her eyes.

“Rian, please!”

He gave a hearty laugh and froze. Slowly, he sat back down. “I won’t ever get tired of hearing that.”

Oh!

And instantly, Cassadee was caught between fainting of embarrassment and gasping loudly. “Okay, no. We are not starting this. Get your clothes and get out of my room.”

“Woah! Woah. Calm down, will you?” Rian raised his hands in defense. “I’m sorry,” his smirk dropped. To try and relieve the tension, he chuckled. “I didn’t mean to…”

“Wait.” That got out of hand really quickly and she knew it. But he shouldn’t blame her. “I’m sorry.”

“Look, sit down. We can talk about this.”

Cassadee was a little afraid to move. “Okay, close your eyes. I would like to get dressed first.” She shifted uncomfortably as she watched him smile again, warmly, yet intimidating.
“Why are you so nervous?”

Really?

“You’re acting like this isn’t awkward at all. We crossed a line last night,” she shifted stiffly again before sighing. “Would you please just cover your eyes?” Once Rian closed his eyes and turned away from her, she frantically began to look around for anything. Just seeing her bra at this point would be glorious. Wait…

“Hey, where are my bags?” She glanced around the corner of the bed to see nothing but a large set of matching blue bags and a pair of shoes. Not her shoes, but tennis shoes.

“This isn’t your room, Cass,” he said calmly, still facing the wall. “It’s mine. Your bags are down the hall.”

“Well…where are my clothes?”

“I’m not sure. Check the bathroom.” After all, it may have been better if she had not checked the bathroom. She found her dress and her bra, but they were soaked with something that smelled of an odd concoction of alcohol. Her shoes were there and seemed fine. But her clothes. Gross.

“You know,” he began, his back still facing the wall, “you can wear my shirt if you can’t find your clothes.” She didn’t have to see him to hear the hidden smile in his voice. Once she was dressed, she still didn’t have her underwear, so her lower half was covered with the massive cover.

But you couldn’t cover up the “All Time Low Sucks!” shirt or the very noticeable Rian smell in the shirt.

“Okay,” she coughed awkwardly. “You can turn around now.” By the time he turned around, she was sitting on the bed, but on the very edge of it. He didn’t hide the smile as he looked her over.

“Nice shirt.”

“Rian.”

“Sorry.”

“Do you remember anything from last night?”

He stroked his chin before shrugging. “Kinda. We were drinking. A lot. And you were singing to me. I tried to take you to your room, but you weren’t having it,” he paused and laughed. “Oh, you can’t sing when you’re drunk.”

“Rude. Go on.”

“Well, you said you wanted to hang out with me more. So I brought you here. And we drank more. You spilled some of the drink on you. I remember you going in to the bathroom to change, but after that, I don’t remember much.” And suddenly, the tension grew thicker as his face contorted into a smirk once he scooted more towards Cassadee. “But I do remember it was nice.”

As he whispered that, he placed his hand on the small of her back, just where the cover began. “Rian…”

“And you looked very beautiful in that dress last night.” And there it was again. That damn heat. It was there, pooling in her core. She hadn’t noticed that he was scooting closer and closer until he had swung his feet on the floor next to hers and had his arm wrapped around her waist.

“I think you should let me have some of that cover.” Her body felt on fire at only the words. “Because I’m very cold. All you left me with was this flimsy sheet.” He then kissed her neck, making it almost impossible for her to move away.

But she did move. She enjoyed it for maybe a second before jumping, suddenly frantic. His arm fell limp as he watched her hold her cover like it was a lifeline. “You are very naked,” she said flatly, trying now to look anywhere but him. “And you should find some clothes if you’re cold.”

“I bet that you could warm me up better than clothes could.” It was smooth and tempting, but Cassadee backed up instead, nearly tripping over the cover.

“Rian, this isn’t a good idea. You know that.”

“Tell me,” he stood from the bed and started to stalk towards her. His stance wasn’t predator-like, but was strong and he had a stern look on his face. His arms crossed as he tilted his head. She backed up, keeping his gaze. “Why is it that it took last night for you to give me a chance?”

Ah, there it was.

“Rian…”

“Really,” he pushed it. “Hear me out. I want to know. You asked me to come drinking with you and the guys. You sat next to me for most of the night. And you asked me to help you back to your room.”

He looked at the floor and smiled, now rubbing his neck nervously. “I know we’ve tried this before…but it can be different now. There is something there…this doesn’t just have to be physical.”

She almost laughed. “This isn’t anything! We were drinking. This was one night. It’s over now.”
But was it? He hoped not.

As he stood there, turning his gaze to her, and watching her look at him – even if it was a look of disbelief – he thought that maybe this could continue.

So, he took a risk.

She watched as he stepped forwards, allowing his sheet to hang a little lower around his waist. He reached forward and cupped her cheek.

“I don’t want this to just be one night. We can take it slower than this.”

“You know that I don’t date musicians. And I – “

“Give me a chance.”

“Rian…” she paused, and sighed. “I’m sure last night was great...” Or it was great, judging by the way her body felt right now. He was smirking again. “But you know this isn’t a good idea. We are on tour together…and if something goes bad…we can’t do this.”

His smirk remained.

“Then why are you still here? With me?” His thumb brushed over her cheek and he leaned in slowly, capturing her lips in the sweetest kiss.
