We've Got Unfinished Business

Seven months later

After William was born Aubrey and Alex began to feel like I was giving him more attention than them. Even though I explained that he was a new born who needed more attention than them because he literally couldn't do anything for himself. So I allowed them to get a dog even though I wasn't a big fan of them. We had our Papillion, Sebastian or Baz for short, for three months now and I was still getting used to him. He was a younger dog and didn't understand my rules yet. Like not getting on the furniture or not barking at two am. I threatened to give him away every day since we bought him home but I don't think I could; He was kind of cute.

I just finished letting Will feed himself, which became very messy. I left him in his high chair while I went to go start his bath water in my bathroom. I had to get him all cleaned up because tonight we were going to the APMAS with Alex. It was here in San Diego this year and Rian and Zack we're hosting it.

When I walked back into the kitchen I saw Baz on top of the kitchen table licking all over Will's face.
"Hey! Hey! What are you doing up there!" I yelled at him to get down. He quickly jumped off of the table and ran to Alex's side when he walked in.

"Why are you yelling at my dog?" Alex asked.

"Your dog was licking all over my baby's face." I complained as I pick Will up from his high chair.

"That's because your baby made the biggest mess while eating. Baz was just trying to help clean him up, weren't you Baz?" Alex petted the dog's head.

"We don't need that demon dog's help." I pouted.

"He didn't mean that Baz. He's just jealous that I might start to love you more than him." He joked.

"We'll see if you can fit in Baz's bed with him tonight." I said and he chuckled.

"Whatever, you know you can't sleep without my arms wrapped around you or my hands doing other things for you." He whispered in my ear. He was telling the truth, it took longer for me to fall asleep when he wasn't in bed with me. I wasn't going to let him know that though.

"I have hands too." I said stubbornly and took Will to out of his high-chair. Alex slapped my ass as I walked off to our bathroom and I flipped him off.

Aubrey ran in as I turned Will's bath water off. `

"Do you want to help me give your brother a bath?" I asked.

"Yeah! Will's messy!" She exclaimed.

I placed Will in the bathtub and he looked at me as if I was hurting him.

"Hey don't give me that look, you're the one that covered yourself in mushed carrots." I chuckled and he began to whimper.

"Don't cry Will, its okay." Aubrey told him, but his cries became louder. "Wait!" Aubrey yelled and ran off. She came back a minute later with some of her bath toys.

"Aw you're going to share with him?" I asked.

"Mhm." She nodded.

"Okay well he can only use the rubber duckys because the other toys might hurt him." I told her.

She placed the ducks in his water and he stopped whining because he was curious. He usually had other bath toys that were a little bigger. He picked one up and just like I predicted it went straight to his mouth.

"He's eated it!" Aubrey yelled.

"Yeah that's how he plays with toys." I joked. I pulled the toy from his mouth and he whined and brought it back. "He's just like you were." I told her.

"Nu-unh." She giggled.

"Un-huh."

Alex walked in the bathroom with Baz trailing right behind him.

"Daddy did I eated my toys?" Aubrey asked him. I could tell he was confused by the question.

"She's asking did she use to put toys in her mouth when she was younger like Will is doing." I clarified for him.

"Oh, yeah you ate all of them." He told her.

"No I didn't!" She laughed.

"Mhm you even ate my cell phone." He chuckled and picked her up. He kissed her on the cheek before sitting her back down. "Didn't you just eat? Why are you trying to eat those poor ducks?" He happily asked Will. Will looked up at him and smiled still holding the duck to his mouth. "Yeah I'm talking to you! Stop eating plastic!" He chuckled and Will squealed.

"He can't help himself, those colorful ducks just look so delicious." I said.

I finished giving Will his bath and took him to our room to dry him off. He was his normal size and weight now at seven months. The doctor told me he would grow a little faster after the first month and he was right. I dressed him in his dark grey future hearts onesie Alex had custom made for him. Then I sat him in his swing so Alex could keep an eye on him as he got ready.

I went to get Aubrey dressed next. She had a pretty beige dress that I bought her two weeks ago. I helped her into it then I brushed her hair into a bun at the top of her head. I had to give her my IPad to get her to sit still. It was either that or try to take the four year old away from her other toys.

“There you go, Princess, all done.” I told her.

“Can we take pictures?” She asked and I chuckled.

“Yeah we’re going to take pictures after Daddy and I finish getting dressed.”

“Okay!”

She followed me back to my room so Alex and I could get ready. I walked into the bathroom with Alex, Will, and Baz. I went to the closet to put my clothes on and Baz followed me.

"Alex your pervert dog is trying to watch me get dressed." I complained.

"Can you blame him?" He chuckled.

"I swear I'm going to give you both away." I mumbled and he rolled his eyes knowing it was an empty threat.

We arrived to the award show in a limo an hour before the show started. Alex had to walk the red carpet with Rian and Zack so I took the kids to our seats. We were sitting right next to Pierce the Veil so Kellin was going to be next to me too. He was already in his seat when we made it.

"Hey!" He said and hugged me. He hugged Aubrey and kissed Will on the cheek.

"Hey, when did you get here?" I asked.

"We had to get here two hours early since Pierce is opening up for the show."

"Oh yeah. I bet they're going to do a good job."

"They better since all he's been doing is practicing with them for the past week." He pouted.

"Oh hush he'll go back to giving you all his attention once this night is over." I chuckled.

"I know, plus we'll be able to talk about adopting."

"Wait I thought you said you both wanted to wait until your late twenties to adopt."

"We do, but we can still talk about it now and maybe do it a little sooner. Like just a few years after our wedding." He mumbled and I playfully rolled my eyes at him. Vic had finally proposed to two months ago while they were on a trip in the Bahamas. Their wedding was going to be next year in May.

"I knew you weren't going to wait that long."

"Can you blame me? I want a little girl! I already have the perfect name picked out for her."

"You're going to drive Vic crazy." I chuckled.

"He'll live."

We both took our seats with Aubrey right between us and Will sitting in my lap. Thirty minutes later Alex came to take his seat. The show was going to begin in fifteen minutes.

"Do you know what you're going to say if you win any awards tonight?" I asked Alex.

"Nah I don't plan on winning anything. There are too many other people who are better than me." He said and I rolled my eyes at him.

"If you get up there and freeze I'm going to boo you off of the stage." I joked.

"You better not. I'll just try to speak from my heart or something."

The show began on time with Pierce starting us off with some songs from their new album; they sounded great of course. Rian and Zack came out to do the opening monologue. Then people started coming up to present the different awards. Alex was nominated for best vocalist and All Time Low was nominated for album of the year, best live band, and video of the year. I'm sure they were going to win at least one of those.

The third award being given away was best vocalist. Brendon Urie was the one announcing the winner. A clip played naming all the nominees and playing clips of them singing. I squeezed Alex's thigh when his clip showed up on the screen. He playfully rolled his eyes at me and turned to listen for the winner.

"Ladies and gentlemen the winner of the best vocalist award goes to . . . Alex Gaskarth!!" Brendon announced.

Alex was shocked to hear his name, I had to hit his leg to get his attention. He stood up and I stood with him, then he kissed me. He leaned down to kiss Aubrey on the cheek and kissed Will as I held him in my arms. He ran up on stage to collect his trophy and say a speech.

"Woow!! I can't believe you guys actually voted for me! I was just honored to be nominated, but to actually win makes me feel on top of the world! I of course have to thank you all for voting for me. I want to thank Zack and Rian for being the best band mates and best friends I could ever ask for. I also want to thank my husband for supporting everything I wanted to do with our band. Without you all and him pushing me to do my best I don't think I would be half as good as I am now. So thank you for everything." He said the last line while smiling at me.

I wiped my eyes and waved to him. He waved at me and to the crowd and then went backstage. A few minutes later he walked back out and took his seat next to me. He kissed me on the cheek and took Will and sat him in his lap.

"That was such a nice speech, Lex." I told him.

"Thanks, I told you I would just speak from my heart."

"Well you have a beautiful heart." I chuckled and he kissed me.

"Yep, and belongs all to you."

Five Years Later

"Okay make sure you hold your signs high so Daddy will see them as soon as he gets off the bus." I told Aubrey and Will. They made signs for Alex, who was coming back from a two month tour today with Rian and Zack. They were going to get the next two months off because Rian and Cass's wedding and honeymoon was next month.

"Will, honey your sign is upside down." I told him and Aubrey laughed. She helped her five year old brother turn his sign the right way before making sure hers looked perfect. At only nine years old she was already a better artist than me. She most likely got that talent from Alex.

"Daddy's going to be so happy when he gets here!" Aubrey chuckled.

"Where is he?" Will whined. He's been completely heartbroken with Alex being gone for so long. FaceTime and phone calls weren't enough for him.

"He'll be here in a minute baby." I assured him.

Two minutes later we saw the tour bus turning onto our street. The kids jumped up and down in excitement and Baz barked. The bus made its last stop in front of our house and Alex stepped out with a few of his bags. He was immediately ambushed by Will and Aubrey. I shook my head and walked over to join their family hug. Baz jumped at our legs to get to Alex.

"I missed you Daddy! Did you miss me??" Will asked.

"Yeah of course! I missed all of you." He chuckled.

"Daddy look we made you signs!" Aubrey exclaimed. They moved back away from him and held their signs up. Alex kissed me before reading their signs out loud.

"Daddy now that you're home our family is complete again." He read Aubrey's first then he looked at the picture she drew of us. He turned his head to the side when he noticed that in the picture it was Aubrey, Will, him, and me holding a baby in my arms.

"Mine Daddy! Read mine!" Will exclaimed, distracting Alex.

"Um okay, let me see." He turned to read his sign next. "Daddy we four missed you!" He read. “Both of your signs look great!” He complimented them and turned towards me.

“What?” I asked, trying to hide the smile on my face.

"Aubrey has a baby in her picture and Will's says four instead of three. What's going on?" He asked.

"We're going to need a bigger house." I said and he laughed.

He pulled me over to hug and kiss me again. "When did you find out? And how far along are you?"

"I'm three months and we found out last month. I wanted to call and tell you but Aubrey begged me to let them surprise you with it when you got back. I figured you wouldn't mind."

"Of course I don't mind! I love this!" He said happily.

"Did we surprise you, Daddy?" Aubrey asked.

"Yeah! This totally caught me off guard!"

"Yaay!" She and Will cheered.

"Now Copeland will have someone closer to her age to play with." I told him. Copeland was Kellin and Vic's one year old daughter they adopted last year. Kellin was excited to hear about my pregnancy because we were going to be able to have play dates as soon as our new baby got a little older.

"Yeah they'll probably end up being best friends like you and Kellin. I'll just have to keep an eye out on him or her to make sure history doesn’t repeat itself.” He teased.

"Shut up." I chuckled and looked down at my feet. I would probably never get over the lie I first told him about my age. "We should probably wait a while before telling any of them the story of when we met." I suggested.

"Yeah that's probably a good idea. It would make a pretty interesting story though." He said and I playfully rolled my eyes at him.

"We should get inside, it looks like it's about to rain." I said and Alex agreed.

Before I could take a step towards the door Alex picked me up and threw me over his shoulder. "We can use this time to look for a realtor instead of doing the other things I planned for us to do...well actually you're not that pregnant, maybe we can still do it anyways." He said and I giggled.

"You're a child."

"You're one to talk."

I definitely did not cry while writing this *sniffle* I can't thank you all enough for giving this and the prequel a chance. I feel sad ending the story but I didn't want to drag it on. If it makes you feel any better I can tell you that their new baby was a little girl! I wanted this to be the last story I started so I could finish my other story (The Good Life) and be done writing but I got a new idea for a story and I'm kinda dying to write it. Maybe I can make it short, just be on the lookout for it because I don't have a name for it yet lol I'm going to be on here reading other stories for the rest of my life so feel free to message me or add me as a friend if you want. I would love to keep in touch with all of you! But I couldn't be happier with the way this story turned out and I hope you all feel the same. Thanks again <33
