This Ride Is A Wild One

Ah Valentine’s Day. Amy had told Jack that she didn’t want any fuss made over her. He reminds her every day how much he loves her, so there was no need for him to dedicate a whole day to it. Alex had also decided to take up Jack’s offer of spending the day with the two.

The three of them were currently sitting around the table eating breakfast which Alex had offered to make “Guys I have something to tell you” Alex looked up after taking a sip of his coffee “I’m also moving to LA” he grinned “OH MY GOD” Amy lunged at him squeezing the life out of him “I’m so so happy!” she beamed “Jack, isn’t this the best? Could life get any better” she sunk back down into her chair. That had just made her day. At least they now knew that they had a friend with them instead of moving there not knowing anybody “I also have an announcement” Amy dramatically cleared her throat as she stood looking at the two boys “So I got a new job… You are now looking at the new Social Media Manager for Hopeless Records” she grinned waiting for their reaction. Jack stood, wrapping his arms around her, pulling her into a kiss as Alex sat awkwardly, trying to avoid the display of affection in front of him “I’m so proud of you” Jack smiled sweetly at her. It was now Alex’s turn to embrace her, congratulating her “How did you manage to get that job?” he asked “Well back in the day, I had a blog where I used to review concerts I’d been to and give my honest opinion on the setlist, on stage presence, lighting and anything else you can think of. So I sent them a link to my blog, asking if there were any positions available and that’s what they asked me to do” she grinned “they also said that they may ask me now and again to review bands playing in LA. They don’t know that I know you guys either, which I’m glad about because I feel like that would’ve had an influence on their decision” she shrugged, Jack pulled her in for another hug “This calls for celebrations! Shall we go see a movie, then come back here and get wasted?” Jack grinned at his idea. It was met with agreements from both Alex and Amy.

“Well that was the worst movie ever” Amy groaned, the three of them exiting the cinema “I can’t believe you dragged me to see that Fifty Shades of Shit movie. Remind me why I decided to hang out with you guys today?” Alex laughed, trying to get the images of the film out of his head “It was pretty crap wasn’t it?” Jack chuckled. The film choice was his, and now he was regretting it “I’m sorry guys, I was just curious. Just wanted to get some ideas for later tonight” he nudged Amy’s arm. She simply smacked him and his stupidity as Alex rolled his eyes laughing at the pair.

“Well ain’t this the life” Amy mumbled to herself, slouched on the couch as Jack and Alex lay on the floor, half asleep. Xbox controllers, empty beer bottles and half eaten pizza littered the floor. Amy stood and leant down, tapping both Jack and Alex’s arms “C’mon guys, time for bed” she grabbed their arms in an attempt to drag them up from the floor. Jack stood, scratching his head confused “Bed” Amy pushed him towards the stairs with no complaint from him “Alex, you can take the couch, I’ll clean up here and get you some blankets” Alex patiently sat on the couch as Amy cleared away as much as she could, then returned from upstairs, blankets and a pillow in hand “Here” she smiled at him and took a seat next to him on the couch “It’s not much, but it should keep you warm during the night” she stood, placing them down next to him as he sat staring at her “Goodnight Alex” “Amy” she turned to look at him “You’re pretty” she laughed at his drunken state “Thank you Alex, now you need sleep or you’re gonna hate yourself in the morning” “No Amy, i really mean it” he slurred. He stood and walked towards her as she eyed him curiously “I love you, Amy” “Alex, you’re clearly drunk, now go lie down” she ushered him back towards the couch, however he refused to move. He cupped her face, looking her in the eyes “I love you” he whispered. Amy didn’t know what to believe. Surely he was just drunk. There was no way he could love her. She panicked as Alex started to lean in to kiss her. She placed her hands on his chest stopping him “Alex…” “Amy I’m so sorry” he whispered again, before turning to finally lay down on the couch. Amy stood at the bottom of the stairs, switching the light off before turning to check on him one last time. What just happened?
