Reconnected

After that little confrontation in the hall that occurred mere seconds ago Alex and Eve walked out to Alex’s car that they had taken to school that morning and started arguing over who was driving.

“You drove here. It’s only fair that I drive at lunch. I always let you drive at lunch when it’s my turn to pick you up,” Eve said annoyed.

“But it’s my car. I’m obligated to drive it,” Alex threw back.

“Please, Alex. Let me drive?” Eve gave Alex her best puppy dog eyes, which she knew he could never say no to.

“You, my friend, are a manipulative asshole.”

“Shut up, you love me.” Just not in the way I wish you did, Eve thought to herself.

Alex gave Eve his keys and got in the passenger seat waiting for Eve to get in. On the drive there he began to think about what happened in the hall, more specifically when he called Eve his best friend. He wanted to call her his girlfriend more than anything. If he was being completely honest one of the reasons why he stopped talking to her was because he was scared of how much he liked her at such a young age. He’s always wanted to make her his and now that he actually had an opportunity he couldn’t find the courage to make a move.

Eve drove them to the diner they typically ate at when they weren’t with the rest of the group. They had dubbed it their place and made it clear to their friends that it was theirs and only theirs. The biggest reason they were so stubborn about this was because of the fact that it was theirs before the guys, Dakota, and Cass were even in the picture. They would go to this diner all the time when their respective families got together for dinner or lunch. They celebrated birthdays here and it had become a second home to them.

They walked into the diner and sat down in the booth they always sat in and ordered the same thing they always got. Conversation between Eve and Alex was easy and never forced. They talked about everything and nothing and would listen to the other go on and on about their obsessions. Everything was going smoothly until someone neither Alex nor Eve thought they would see or hear from again walked in.

“Lisa? What are you doing here?” Alex and Eve said in unison.

“Wouldn’t you like to know.”

Hey guys. Sorry for the short chapter but at least I'm not dead! I'm going to try to update more. Key word is TRY. I'm so busy with work and school but school is almost over so at least there's that.
