Reconnected

“Eve?”
“MR GASKARTH! You’ve been in here for no longer than 5 minutes and you’re already disrupting the students. Please refrain from talking whilst I am teaching. Thank you” snickers could be heard around the room. He glanced back at Eve, only to see her eyes focused on the front of the class, not paying any attention to him.
The bell sounded signalling the end of class. Alex was packing away his books when he noticed Eve was already done and was rushing out of the room.
“EVE WAIT UP” he chased her down the corridor, hoping she would slow down. He finally reached her, grabbing onto her hand. She turned to look into those brown orbs that once seemed so familiar.
“We have so much to catch up on” he chuckled, throwing her that signature smile of his.
“Not now Alex, I have a class to get to” and with that, she pulled her hand away from his grip and turned to leave. Alex stood in place, stunned. Why was she not happy to see him? He sighed, looking at his schedule to see what class he had next.

“You can’t be serious?” Dakota asked Eve as they sat beneath a tree to eat their lunch. Eve just shrugged.
“You can’t keep avoiding him” Cass sat besides Eve.
“I can if I try hard enough” Eve said before taking a bite out of her apple.
“But why? Why won’t you speak to him? You’ve missed him! You need to catch up” Dakota spoke.
“I don’t need to do anything. People grow up and forget about their friends, just like he did with me. Why should I sit and listen about how better his life must have been without me?” Eve sighed, as she noticed Alex walk outside.
“I’m going to make it my mission to reconnect the two of you” Cass grinned.
“Good luck” Eve huffed as she stood, brushing down her jeans.
“I’ll see you guys after school” and with that, she was gone.

Gaahh, it has taken me so long to actually get some motivation to write, it's been killing me! Writers block is real :( anyway, after 8 years, finally here is my first chapter to the story. Hope you guys like it :) - Amy
