“Okay, so basically Kara will be there all night so if you have any questions, Manda, just go over there and ask her. If there’s anything she can’t help with for whatever reason, text me and I will be right there,” Matt said as he has us three girls in a huddle while the boys are getting ready to go on stage for the first time. “As for you, Stella, I will be relatively close to you all night. So if you need anything, just scream at me or come backstage and we’ll figure everything out.” I nodded my head at the man and looked around at the crazy amount of people that had already arrived in the crowd. I licked my black stained lips and nervously glanced at my best friend.
“You’re okay, Stells. Just breathe. No one’s gonna do anything to you. Just stay focused on the boys all night and you’re good to go,” Amanda instructed me. I nodded my head and wrapped my oversized cardigan tightly around my tiny body, shivering a bit from the AC that was blasting above us.
“Alrighty,” Matt suddenly said loudly, clapping his hands together. “It’s show time.”
I followed Matt, holding the camera Zack was letting me borrow tightly in my hands, and we were soon backstage with the guys. I watched as they all focused on getting hyped for the show and took this as a perfect opportunity to start snapping some photos. I focused the lenses on Zack as he was very deep in thought, tuning his bass and jumping around a bit. I snapped a picture as he was a few inches off the ground, his bushy hair flying a few separate directions. Perfect.
“Hey, you.” A pair of arms slithered around my waist from behind me and the scent of Alex filled my nostrils. I smiled and turned my head to look at his face. “You look amazing,” he murmured into my ear, kissing the spot on my neck that he knew drove me absolutely insane. Goosebumps broke out rapidly on my skin and butterflies flew throughout my body while my breath hitched in my throat. “I’m diggin’ the black lipstick. It’s very… Mysterious. Sexy.” He gave me a wink and I stared at him with a sly smirk, knowing that was one of his weaknesses.
“I gotta get back to work, sir,” I finally said once I found my voice and was brave enough to pull away from him. He gave me a sad pout.
“Can I atleast get a kiss for good luck?” He whimpered. I smiled up at his lanky figure and stepped up on my tiptoes to plant a brief kiss on his lips. “Mm.. Thank you, ma’am.”
“You’re gonna be amazing,” I tell him, snapping a picture of Rian getting pumped for the show.
“As long as I know that you’re out there cheering me on, I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that, that’s a true statement.” Alex placed a sweet kiss on my temple and left to grab his guitar. I was left standing there on my own, thinking about Alex had all of these romantic things to say to me and yet he still would never officially ask me to be his girlfriend.
Yeah, there were the rumors about Alex and how he would never commit to one girl all so he could screw around behind her back and have the excuse of “Well we were never officially together in the first place,” to fall back on… But those were just rumors. The student body of Dulaney High didn’t know Alex like I had come to know him. They haven’t seen him the way I have. He wouldn’t keep me in his back pocket just to keep me there and go and fuck around with someone else… Would he?
I shook my head, mentally scolding my brain for allowing myself to think such morbid, haphazard thoughts. Making things official with Alex shouldn’t have been my main priority anyways. My main priority should have been the fact that I got to spend all of my time with such an incredible guy that thought that I was good enough for him. I finally found someone who saw past the concept of Stella Underwood and took the time to actually get to know the person I truly was and not just who everyone thought I was supposed to be.
I chewed on my bottom lip, deep in thought, as All Time Low ran on stage, the crowd roaring to life as they began playing. I stayed put in my spot in the wings, trying to investigate the feeling that was constructing in the pit of my stomach.
Oh no.’ I thought to myself. This couldn’t be happening. Not now, at least. There was absolutely no possible way I was falling in love with Alexander Gaskarth…

“Stella, come here for a minute,” Matt called me later that night when the entire concert had ended. I removed myself from the couch I had been sitting on; well Zack was sitting on the couch and I was sitting in his lap, showing him the pictures I had captured that evening while he critiqued the shots and gave me pointers for the next show. Walking over to the corner of the room where Matt had set up his laptop and other things he needed to work with, I was very aware of all the eyes that had fallen upon me, causing me to grow nervous as if I had done something wrong. The anxiety swelled in my stomach and up my throat, a feeling I was very used to after living with my father for the entire seventeen years of my life like I have.
So I try to even out my voice and stop myself from shaking as I asked, “What’s up?”
Matt looked up at me, his hazel eyes glimmering with appreciation and approval, immediately releasing any and all anxiety that had formed in my system. “I was talking to the other guys that were working out there with you,” he started. I nodded at him, not sure where he was going with this. “Apparently you did really well for someone who’s never done this before.”
“You mean for someone who’s a seventeen year old girl,” I stated jokingly.
“Yeah, I forgot to mention that being a photographer, you also get to double as a bodyguard half the time. But apparently you take absolutely no shit from anyone.” Matt smiled at me and I just grinned back at him. “I was told that you have a massive attitude when you’re being fucked with.”
I let out a loud laugh and shook my head. “What am I supposed to do when some weirdo is trying to basically grope me just to look good in front of his friends? He totally deserved that elbow to the face. I refuse to apologize.” Matt was laughing with me at this point, nodding his head in approval.
“Yeah, some of those guys can be dicks,” Matt agreed with me. “Anyways, I just wanted to tell you that you got a really awesome report. I’m thinking about making you All Time Low’s permanent social media dealer.”
“You make my job sound so… Illegal. ‘Dealer?’” I let out another loud laugh, throwing my head back as the noise withdrew my vocal chords. “I think ‘Social Media Manager’ sounds a bit more professional, Matt.”
“Well whatever you want to be called, the job is yours.”
I smiled widely at him and nodded my head vigorously. “Oh my, God. Yes. That would be amazing. Thank you so, so much, Matty!” I excitedly threw my arms around Matt’s neck, capturing him in a spine-crushing hug. He awkwardly patted my back and chuckled nervously at the contact, not quite sure what to do with the abruptness of my actions.
“I have a job!” I excitedly screamed as I came up to Amanda and Jack, who had been sitting in a corner of the room.
“Dude, no fucking way!” Amanda screamed with me, jumping to her feet and hugging me tightly.
“Yeah, dude! You are looking at All Time Low’s official social media manager.” I grinned proudly. Jack pulled me into a loose, one armed hug and nuzzled his face into the top of my head.
“That’s fucking sick, man. Congrats.” Jack gave me a highfive after releasing me from the hug. I was way too excited about this news and the energy and adrenaline from interacting with the bands and the crowd as personally as I had been were still fresh in my brain, so I felt the need to run around the entire room and tell all of my friends the exciting news.
“Babe!” I squealed, jumping on to Alex’s back without any warning causing him to stumble forward a bit from the impact. Alex chuckled and grabbed my arms, making sure I didn’t fall on the ground.
“Babe!” He yelled back, mimicking my enthusiastic manor.
“I’m your new media manager!” I continued to tell him.
“Look at you! Being all official and what not.” Alex threw me backwards onto the couch next to where Zack had been sitting, making sure that I landed safely. “I’m so proud of you.”
I tilted my head to the side a little; he wasn’t nearly as excited as I thought he would be. In fact, I don’t think he’s looked up from his phone the entire time he’s gotten off stage… I looked at Zack with a confused expression and he just shrugged.
“I think he’s texting his mom or some shit,” Zack finally offered, just as confused as I was. Alex was usually up everyone’s ass when it came to being on your phone when we were all together. It wasn’t like him to be the one glued to his cellular device like this.
“Oh, okay then…” I trailed off, fixing my beanie properly over my blonde locks. I tried not to let Alex’s reaction, or lack of, bother me as Zack and I went into a full conversation about cameras and what type I should get once I saved up to get my own. He gave me some really helpful pointers and he went on about how awesome this was and how excited he was to finally have someone to nerd out with about photography, but all I could do was focus on the brown-eyed boy who was standing in the furthest corner of the room, being uncharacteristically quiet and unsocial. I’m sure I’d figure out what was wrong sooner or later…

Notes

Yes, hi. I'm still alive. I promise. I've just been super caught up in work and other shenanigans and I've barely had any time to post. But fret not, my dear ones. I give to thee the next chapter. I have Wednesday off from work, so hopefully I'll have the time to buckle down and crank out a chapter or two. Fingers crossed.

As always, thank you for reading and feel free to drop some comments and such.
Much love.
Kate.

This was one of my absolute favorite stories. I am very curious to know if you are going to continue with this? Because I have to know what happens next.

I don't remember anything. I need to restart this. Damn, all I remember is loving this. Only more reason to read it all again.

Haha, keepin' it real. :) No worries, the only one that was kind of concerning was the Blink-180 because I think that's the first time I've ever seen that. XD But I figured it was a typo.
