Alex was still asleep when I woke up.
I watched him sleep until he woke up.
"Do you always watch people you just fucked sleep?" He grumbled as he streched.
"Only the ones I like." I muttered.
Alex looked at me.
"Never mind, can I use your shower?" I asked.
"Yeah, but just ignore the mess. I haven't gotten round to cleaning it yet." He said and got out of bed and put some pants one.
He threw a pair at me.
I just smiled a thanks and got out of bed and had a shower.
When I got back the girl Alex was talking to last night was sat in the gap of his legs messing with his hoodie.
Alex looked up and smiled when he saw me.
The girl looked and hid her face in his chest.
Alex chuckled.
"Don't be going all shy now Mrs." He said and tickled her sides which made the girl laugh.
I smiled.
"Jack this is Erica my sister. Erica is this my friend Jack." Alex said.
"Hey." I said.
Erica just waved a little.
I chuckled.
"She's just a little shy." Alex chuckled.
I moved and sat in the bed.
"Eric, why don't you go and get dressed and me and Jack will take you out somewhere." Alex said.
She smiled and was out the room before I could blink.
"She's cute." I said quietly and pulled a top on.
"You can wear my clothes if yours smells like alchol ansd that." Alex said and pulled thw hoodie on.
"You sure?" I asked.
"More than sure." He said quietly.
I pulled a hoodie on and sat next to him.
"Last night..." I started and looked at him.
"Was fun." He said quietly and looked at me.
Something wasn't right.
"What's the matter?" I asked.
"It doesn't matter Jack." He whispered and Erica came running in.
"Lex help me." She said and handed Alex a top.
"Come here you." Alex smiled and put her top on and picked her up and hugged her.
I just watched them for a second.
"Lex can we go to the park?" She asked and Alex nodded.
"Put your shoes on and me and Jack will be down in a second." He said and she went running out the room.
"You two are close." I said.
"If i didnt have her i would be dead." He said quietly and got up and walked out the room.
I sighed and got up and followed Alex.
We was at the park and Erica was happily playing with some other children.
I was sat next to Alex under a tree and he was like looking around studying everyone.
"Asshole." Alex said.
I smiled.
"What's ticking in your head?" I asked.
"Ducks." Alex said and looked at me.
"I'm not thinking about that." He said quietly and looked away from me.
"Then what are thinking about?" I asked.
"How much I enjoyed last night, well what I remember of it, and how I can't feel how I feel because it'll fuck up about the only friendship I have." He said.
"Meaning?" I asked.
Alex looked at me.
"I like you Jack." He said.
"I like you as well." I said confused.
"Not as a friend. More than a friend like." He said and looked away.
I looked down.
I knew somewhere deep down I liked him as well but right now I just see him as a friend.
"I understand if you don't feel the same way. I'll just leave you alone from now on." He said.
"At the moment I don't feel the same way. But I know I do deep down I do like you." I said truthfully.
Alex looked at me.
"You don't have to stay away from me." I said.
"You sure?" He asked and looked and Erica was running over.
"I'm sure." I smiled.
Alex smiled back and looked at Erica.
"What's up Eric?" Alex asked.
"Someone pushed me over and I hurt my knee." She sobbed.
"Come here and let's see if these magic kisses work shell we?" He said and Erica nodded and walked over and Alex looked at her knee and kissed it.
"Does that feel better?" He asked and Erica nodded and she sat on Alex's lap and rested her head on his chest.
"Do you want something to eat?" Alex asked and looked at me.
"I'm starving." I said and Erica giggled a little.
I looked at her and smiled.
"Want a McDonald's?" Alex asked.
"Yeah!" Erica said loudly and jumped up.
Alex chuckled and got up.
"You joining or do you have to go home?" Alex asked.
"Can I join?" I asked.
"I dunno, what do you think Eric. Can Jack join us?" He asked and looked at Erica.
"Yeah." She said quietly with a smile.
I smiled back at her and got up.
Erica got hold of Alex hand and we walked to McDonald's.
We got back and Alex's mum was up walking round the house.
"Your latest shag Alex?" She spat.
"Why would you care." Alex spat back.
"Because I need to know who your shagging just in case I need to get the place fumigated." She spat back again.
"Can say exactly the same to you about the men you fucking shag." Alex said.
"What did you say!?" She shouted.
I felt someone hide behind me.
I looked down and saw a pair of arms wrapped round my leg.
"You fucking heard!" Alex shouted back.
"Well you'll be please to know I'm back with your father again." She said lighting a cigarette up.
I could see Alex move back a little.
"Oh yay, bring on more abuse!" He said sarcastically.
I bent down and picked Erica up a d took her upstairs I could feel Alex watching me.
I got to his room and shut the door behind me and went over and sat on his bed.
Erica moved and sat on my legs.
"Does that happen alot?" I asked.
She nodded.
"I don't like it when daddy is back. No one does." She said quietly.
"Why's that?" I asked.
"He always hurts us. He always says mean things and do mean things." She said and messed with Alex's covers.
"Like what?" I asked.
"Lex and daddy always argue and he always hurt Lex." She said quietly and stopped messing with Alex's covers.
"Lex hurts himself as well. I don't want Lex to hurt himself anymore." She sniffed.
"Does your dad hurt you?" I asked.
She nodded.
"He hits me alot and tells me to fuck off and get out of his sight." She said quietly.
I heard the door open and shut.
Erica got down from the bed and ran over to Alex who picked her up and held her close to him.
Alex looked at me and smiled a little.
He walked over to the bed and sat down.
He hand a hand print on the side of his face.
"Don't tell anyone." He said quietly.
"It's safe with me." I said quietly back.
"Do you want me to stay round tonight?" I asked.
Alex nodded a little.
"Eric why don't you go and get a DVD and we'll watch it in here." Alex sniffed.
She nodded and got down and gingerly went out the door.
"You okay?" I asked.
Alex shook his head.
"But I'll be fine. Have been up to now." He whispered.
I pulled him to my side and gave him a awkward side hug.
"You don't have to stay here." I whispered.
"Yeah we do because I don't have the money to look after me and her together and I am fucked if she's going to a children's home." He said and moved away from me.
"I wasn't even suggesting putting her in a kids home." I said.
Alex sighed and looked down.
I moved and kissed his cheek where the hand print was.
Alex looked at me and smiled.
Erica came back and Alex put the DVD on and we all got under the covers and watched the DVD.
