Knots in the Ties
A New War Begins
“Hey baby,” Alex said as he made his way over to the couch to sit next to me. “How was that meeting? You know that I would have went but-”
“I know,” I laughed. “You had to write up that test for your students. Sometimes I wonder if you care more about making them smarter than where we live.”
“I care about both, but I do know the one thing that I care about most.”
“Your dogs?”
“Well, they are a part of it. I’m talking about this family.”
“So it’s not just the dogs?”
“Of course not! You’re in that word as well.” Alex gave me a peck on the lips. “Anyway, how was the meeting.”
“Actually, they really wanted you to come, but I figured that I could just take in all in and tell you later. It actually was really important.”
“Why didn’t you call me then?”
“Well by the time that I knew how important it was, we had already sealed up the room. You know, the one that takes away all kinds of magick and is kind of annoying when it comes to opening and closing it. I was going to go out anyway, but they said that as long as you got the message and came to the next one that we will be having soon, it should be fine. We don’t believe that what’s going to happen is going to happen all that soon. We figured that we’d have a year. Although I thought that it would be really soon, but they didn’t listen to me.”
“What is it that was that important, Jacky?”
“We have reason to believe that we’ll be attacked.”
Alex laughed. “I doubt that it’s something that we couldn’t take down along with the council, Luna, and Cymbeline.”
“Actually, it is, and according the prophecy, we aren’t going to be the ones that take down the enemy.”
“Then who will?”
“The Elemental Guardians.”
“But that means...”
I nodded with a sigh. “Enid is going to be fighting. We don’t even know who the other guardians are, so the only one that we know that will be out there fighting the leaders of this new war is her.”
“But she’s only 17! She doesn’t turn 18 for another month.”
“I know, and that’s why they thought that the war wasn’t going to happen yet. According to them, it won’t start until one of them turns 18. They think that Enid must be the oldest because she’s the strongest. I told them that that was stupid thinking and we should start preparing right now, but they wouldn’t listen to me. They told me that I wasn’t the smart one out of us.”
“Those bastards. What you’re saying isn’t even stupid. We can’t just go on our daughters age.”
Then out of know where, we heard some kind of explosion that shook the whole house. Alex and I looked at each other before heading over the window. There in the distance, we say the school on fire along with some other buildings as well.
“Oh my god, Enid,” I said with a trembling lip.
Alex wrapped his arms around me. “Don’t worry, Jacky. I’m sure that she’s alright. She is our daughter, and she’s one hell of a fighter. Not to mention that she has Aeolus with her. I know that he will do whatever it takes to make sure that she’s safe.”
“How could you be so sure about that? It’s so obvious that the war has started. I told them! If all of the enemies attack at once, they won’t have a chance! We have to get to them!”
“I know, but we have to get to the council. They’ll know how to go about this. Enid will be fine. I know that Aeolus will protect her because... I saw how he looks at her, and it’s the same way that I look at you.”

Notes
http://www.alltimelowfanfiction.com/Story/23077/Fall-for-Winter-on-Our-Own/This is the sequel to this story.
Knots in the Ties is finally over. It's been a really long journey, but the story is not over. Check out the sequel. It's not much of a Jalex, but I'll try to throw some in. It's mostly about their daughter, and the new challenges that she has to face.
@JagkBaraSlut
I might. I'm busy right now with school which is why all of my stories are really late. I don't like the fact that I didn't finish the sequel, but I want to rewrite this. I'll put this with the other stories that I want to write for the summer.
