Knots in the Ties
The Chest
“Jack!” I exclaimed when I saw him waiting for me in the main part of the temple. I ran over to him and gave him a hug even though I was covered in cuts. After I pulled away, I looked down and saw that Jack had no wounds whatsoever. “Were your challenges easier than mine or something? I’m beat up, and you look the same as when you entered if not better.”
“One of the spells I learned was how to heal myself. Let me.” He started to put his hands on all the places that I had injuries and healed them with glowing white light. “All better.”
“Awesome. Did you get the key yet?”
“No, I can’t without you. I can’t even get my true weapon and armor because they’re all put in the same chest.”
“True weapon and armor?”
“My past self told me about them. They’re here along with the key to the book.”
“Oh. Um, where’s the chest?”
“It’s up these couple of stairs in the middle of the room.”
I nodded and followed Jack up the stairs to find a large black and white chest in the center of the room. We went over to it and looked at it. It showed two hand prints with either black or white emanating from them. We glanced at each other before placing our hands in the spots, my was my left hand, and Jack’s was his right hand. I channeled my energy into my palm, and so did Jack. The two of us heard a clicking sound, and then the chest opened.
Inside was black armor and a black sword for me and white armor with a white staff for Jack along with a black and white key. I took off the armor that Luna gave us along with Jack and put on our new armor. Jack picked up his staff and the key as I put the sword holder around my waist just like all of those heroes did it in all of those movies that we’ve watched.
As soon as I was done, we heard a sound at the bottom of the stairs. We ran down to find another door between the ones that we came through. I was about to step through it and make my journey to the outside world, but Jack’s hand on my shoulder held me back. I turned around to face him.
“Did Alexander tell you about a choice that we’ll have to make at the end of all of this?”
“No, why? What’s the choice?”
“I don’t know what it is, but Luna and Cymbeline are going to ask us a question at the end of all of this, and if we get it right, we will be rewarded.”
“I’d hope there would be something at the end of all of this,” I chuckled. I stopped when I saw the sad look in Jack’s eyes.
“What if the question is if we still want to be together?”
I smiled and pulled him into a hug. “You worry too much. I’m not going to leave you. I don’t even care if the reward is us forgetting all that happened and making our lives normal again because I never want to forget the feelings that I feel for you. I love you, Jack.”
“I love you too, Alex.”
“Now, why don’t we go back outside to Luna and Cymbeline.”
“Ok.”
I took his hand and led him through the door and outside. We found the sisters and the dragons waiting for us. Jack showed them the key which caused them to let out whatever air they were holding in when we first walked out and for them to smile. They pulled the book out of a bag and used the key to open it. We didn’t even have to turn a page because the book did that for us.
Inside was a picture of Jack and I holding our weapons, so they were making an “x”. Above the picture was writing in an ancient language. I knew what it said. It said, “Light is half, and Darkness is half. When the beating organs of both of them come together as one and use this true power, only then will you be able to defeat the darkness.” Next to the writing was a drawing of two hearts. “The answer is the symbol that you get when these two organs are put together. When put next to each other, they give you your answer in the form of a universal symbol.”
“What does that mean?” Jack questioned. “I mean, they’re hearts, so putting them together would be our relationship, but I don’t know what the universal symbol that you get when you put two human hearts together is. I mean, how do they look when you put them next to each other?”
“We don’t have time to figure this out now,” Luna told us.
“Why’s that?” I asked.
“Because the darkness is complete and it’s army is attacking the capital of our world.”
The four of us got on our dragons as fast as we could and started on our journey back...

Notes
I'm so sorry this was so late, and that all of my other stories are so late. I don't know why, but for the past month, I haven't been in the mood to write anything at all. I doubt that I could have even forced anything. Still, I'm sorry this is so late, but I have news that I might write a sequel to this. I don't know ever detail about it yet. I do know the new characters and how it starts, but I don't know the enemy yet. I can't give any details of what I have so far just because I don't want to spoil the end of this one. Let's just say the choice they make and the reward will be a big part of the sequel.Anyway, I'm sorry about being late all the time, and I hope you've liked this story so far. I don't know if I'll end the story next chapter or the chapter after that. There will be an epilogue though, so that means either two or three more chapters to go. If it's two, the next chapter will just be longer than normal.
@JagkBaraSlut
I might. I'm busy right now with school which is why all of my stories are really late. I don't like the fact that I didn't finish the sequel, but I want to rewrite this. I'll put this with the other stories that I want to write for the summer.
