What's My Age Again?

"Alright tell me what happened." Kellin sighed as we sat in my room. We had just woken up a few minutes ago and he was ready to hear what happened between me and Alex.

"We had sex." I shrugged so it wouldn't seem like I took it as a big deal.

"Well yeah, but how was it? How do you feel?" He asked.

"It hurt...a lot and I feel really sore." I said honestly.

"Was it worth it?"

"I could have waited a little bit longer, but it's not like I regret doing it." I said and he nodded. "Why were you so worried about me doing that?"

"Of course I'm going to worry when my best friend talks about losing his virginity. I just didn't want you to regret it and feel bad about yourself or other things. You're sure you two used protection right??"

"Yeah I'm positive." I nodded. "But thanks for being concerned."

"You're welcome. So tell me, what was it like sleeping with him?" He asked and I giggled.

"It was more than I imagined. He was pretty big I think that's why it hurt so much." I told him.

"Did it at least feel good?"

"Yes he hit this spot that almost made me cry." I said and he laughed.

"That's good. I'm glad you enjoyed it." He said.

"Me too."

"And now I should hear no more judgement from you about me sleeping with Vic." He rolled his eyes at me.

"Yeah yeah yeah no more judgement." I agreed.

"Well I have to go. My mom and I are supposed to go phone shopping today."

"Is she switching from Android to Apple?" I asked.

"Yep!" He exclaimed.

"Finally." I joked.

"I know. I'll see you on Monday."

"Okay bye." I said and he left.

I got up off of my bed to take a shower. I took a quick shower and got dressed in more pajamas so I could go downstairs and beg my mother to make me food. When I went down I saw May in the kitchen making breakfast sandwiches.

"Can you make me one too please?" I asked politely and she sighed.

"Sure, since I have to make mom one too." She chuckled.

"Thanks! So I never asked how your movie date went." I said, making small talk. I went to the fridge and poured myself a glass of orange juice as she talked.

"It was great! The movie was awesome and Matt and I had a lot of fun together." She happily.

"That's cool. Did you meet him on campus or something?" I asked and sat at the dinner table.

"No I met him at Rockwell, that club downtown. It's funny he manages that All Time Low band I saw at that Rocktober concert thing." She chuckled and I spit my orange juice out all over the table. "Uh are you okay?" She asked as I continued to choke.

"Mhmm." I hummed and gave her a thumbs up. On the inside I was dying. I should have put two and two together. Matt said the girl he met went to the University of Baltimore. Well I guess that wasn't enough information for me to think it was May, but I still should have known.

"What's going on?" My mom asked as she walked into the kitchen.

"Your son is dying." May told her.

"I'm fine." I breathed and finally stopped coughing.

"You got orange juice all over the table!" My mom scolded me as she grabbed a napkin to clean up my mess.

"Sorry!" I apologized. "It went down the wrong way. But May have you met any of the band yet?" I asked.

"Yeah I met Rian and his girlfriend Cassadee. I didn't get a chance to meet the bass player or lead singer yet." She said and I nodded.

Maybe I was worrying about nothing. So what if she met Alex? As long as I wasn't there with him there was no way for her to find out about us.

"Are you talking about Matt?" Mom asked.

"Yeah Jack wanted to know how our date went, but the food is done so we can eat." She told us. My mom and I thanked her as we grabbed our sandwiches and sat down. I was sitting across from May and next to my mom, who I'm sure was texting Avery. I felt May's eyes on me the second I she sat down but I didn't know why. I was about to ask her why she was staring at me but she cut me off.

"Is that a hickey on your neck?" She asked and her eyes widen as she realize asked that out loud. I don't think she meant to ask it out loud where our mom could hear her.

"What? Where? No!" I quickly lied. My mom put her phone down and tried to look at my neck. "Would you stop it! There's nothing on my neck." I said and rubbed my hands over the spots.

"Yes there is! It looks like there is more than one, Jacky." My mom said.

"How would I even get hickeys? Maybe its mosquito bites?" I said and May rolled her eyes at me.

"Or maybe it was a vampire." She joked and I glared at her.

"Have you been around fooling around with some boy?" My mom asked me and May laughed. I probably would have been laughing too if I weren't being interrogated.

"No mom. When would I have even been around another guy?" I asked not thinking. There was a lot of answers to that question.

"When I'm not home and you're home alone." My mom suggested and I sighed.

"The only person that comes in the house when you're not home is Kellin." I said and her eyes widen.

"Are you and Kellin-"

"-I'm not even going to entertain that thought." I cut her off.

"It's very important that you tell me if you're dating someone. Especially if you're having sex." She said, sounding really concerned.

"I'm not, Mom."

"Well I don't know whether I believe you or not but if I catch anyone here other than Kellin, when I'm not home, you're going to be grounded for life." She warned.

"Okay." I said and we dropped the subject. I was relieved we didn't have to talk about it anymore. Plus now I knew that I had to be extra careful around my mom and May.

"How are things with Avery, Mom?" May asked and our mom smiled forgetting about what just happened.

"Things are good. We actually are going on our second date today in a few hours. He's taking me to a play and then to dinner." She said happily.

"But today's Sunday." I complained. She rarely worked on Sunday's so we always spent them together.

"Yeah but Avery and I don't have to work tomorrow so it's still a weekend for us." She chuckled. So much for spending the day with her.

"I guess May and I will stay home together." I said.

"Actually I have to go in an hour. I need to finish my chemistry homework." May said.

"I guess I'll stay at home alone." I pouted.

"Aw Honey, I don't have to leave for two more hours. We can spend time together until then." My mom told me.

"No it's okay. I'm just going to sleep the rest of the day away." I was being a little dramatic on purpose. I got up and walked to my room.

I turned my TV on and laid back in bed. Times like these made me wish I could stay with Alex. He wouldn't leave me by myself. Well until he had to leave for tour in a few months. I sighed and watched TV until I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

My mom came in my room a few hours later about to leave with Avery.

"Jack." She shook me awake.

"Hmm?"

"I'm leaving now. I'll be back later on tonight okay?"

"Yeah okay Mom." I said in a sleepy voice, but I guess it came off annoyed.

"I'm sorry, Baby. I promise we'll spend as much time as you want to this week." She kissed me on the forehead and walked out.

I picked up my phone and saw that Alex had texted me almost two hours ago. That was the longest I went without answering him back. I hope he didn't think I was ignoring him.

From Alex:
Hey

From Jack:
Hey sorry I fell asleep lol

He texted me back almost immediately.

From Alex:
It's alright. What are you doing?

From Jack:
I'm at home lying in bed bored, alone, and kind of hungry.

From Alex:
I can fix all three of those problems!

From Jack:
How??

From Alex:
Hold on

I sat my phone down and waited for him to text me back. It was thirty minutes later when I heard the doorbell ring. I went downstairs and opened the door. Alex was here holding two pizza boxes. I guess I should have known he was coming over.

"Hi Beautiful." He kissed me on the cheek.

"Hi." I moved over to let him in. This was okay for now since my mom had left.

"Sorry for coming over unannounced. I just wanted to see you." He said and I smiled.

"I don't mind. My mom isn't home so we have the whole place to ourselves." I told him.

"Jeez I always miss her. I'm starting to think you just don't want me to meet her." He joked and I laughed as if it weren't true.

"Maybe you'll catch her next time." I said. "Let's go to my room." I grabbed his hand and lead him to my bedroom.

"Your room looks like mine did in high school." He chuckled and sat the pizza boxes on my floor. I had two Panic at the Disco posters, a Fall Out Boy poster and a Beyoncé poster on my wall.

"Yeah I haven't changed my room in a while." I laughed nervously.

"Why isn't there an All Time Low poster on the wall?" He placed his hands on his hips in false anger.

"Because I don't have one."

"I'll give you one next time you come over." He said.

"And I'll put it up as soon as I get it." I promised.

We sat down on the floor with our backs against my bed. I turned on my Xbox so we could browse through Netflix.

"So um I have to admit part of the reason I wanted to see you was to make sure everything was still okay between us." Alex told me.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"I felt like you left in a hurry this morning because you felt weird about what we had just done." He explained.

"Oh Alex no I really had to leave! If I could have stayed longer I would have. I really enjoyed my time with you last night." I assured him. I hated that I made him feel that way.

"Are you sure?" He asked.

"Yes I'm positive." I kissed him.

"Okay." He exhaled in relief.

"I can't believe you actually thought I wanted to get away from you." I chuckled.

"It's just I had our whole morning planned. I was going to run us a bath, then make us breakfast, and then we were going to spend the rest of the day cuddling." He sighed and I felt even worse.

"That all sounds sweet. I'm sorry I ruined the plans."

"There's always next time." He said hopefully and I laid my head on his shoulder.

"If I weren't so sore I would make it up to you." I mumbled and he laughed.

"Don’t worry about it, you can make it up to me some other time!"
