"We're all part of the same, sick little games."

Jack’s POV
Here I was under the tent that was protecting us from the hot sun. My hand scribbled my signature on paper, shirts, tickets, and even girls’ chests. I actually wasn’t enjoying that part of it. Guilt would wash over me with just the stroke of my hand. I kept a smile on my face though. I wasn’t going to make my fans feel bad.
“Where’s Dawn?” a girl asked. She couldn’t have been over 17, and she had curly red hair and freckles. “It’s just that I heard that the past couple of days she’s been with you at the signing. I’m not trying to sound weird. It’s just that L and L is also one of my favorite bands, and I wanted to see you two together because you two are like the cutest couple.”
I smiled. Not all my fans liked her. “Don’t worry. I see what you’re saying, and thank you. She’s taking a nap in the bus before her signing.”
“Jack kept her up all night if you know what I mean,” Alex chuckled. I punched his arm. “Ow. Well it’s true.” The girl giggled before moving on to get Zack and Rian’s autograph.
“Is that the only reason that you’re with her?” the next girl in line asked. She looked about 20 and had short blonde and pink hair.
“Excuse me?” Was I hearing this right?
“I asked if you’re only with her because she’s easy. There is no way that that pathetic girl would turn you down. Her guilt is probably the only thing that is making her still want to be with you. She’s no good for you. Especially after everything that she did to you.”
“And how would you know that she is no good for me?” I didn’t care that she was a fan. Actually, she wasn’t a true fan because a true fan wouldn’t even be questioning my personal life. This was really pissing me off. “You don’t know her, so don’t judge her.”
“I may not know her personally, but I do know what she did to you. I know that when you broke up with her she blew it off as nothing and that when you tried to make it right she blew up in your face.”
“How did you know that?” Seriously, who told her? I know that her band would never tell. Zack would never tell either. Alex and Rian still may be upset with her, and Alex still hated her, but they would never tell anyone about our personal lives without our permission.
“I follow Brittany Little online. She posted it not to long ago.”
“Is that true?” the young red-head asked. I didn’t realize that she was listening. “That doesn’t sound like Dawn.”
I couldn’t lie. Brittany already put it out. I told myself that if I was asked about it by a true fan I will tell them the truth. “Yeah. We dated when we were in high school.”
“I knew that Brittany was right,” the blonde sneered. The younger girl looked heart broken.
“However,” I continued, “we were a time-bomb waiting to happen. It was after we graduated. We just got signed and started touring.”
“Dawn didn’t start her band ‘til she was in college,” the red-head pointed out. “Does that mean that she was mad because she was jealous?”
“No. Dawn actually told me what happened when we made up. I understand completely. She has a fear of being wrong. Sometimes, she thinks that she has atychiphobia. Anyway, when I was on tour, she didn’t text or call because she thought that I would be doing something and not want to talk to her. She tried to pick times, but when she was about to, she thought that her assumption might be wrong. We lost touch, and then I texted that I was breaking up with her. She told me that she was mad because she thought it was her fault even though it was both our faults because I didn’t try hard enough either.”
“So she was trying to hide the fact that she was wrong and mad at herself?”
“Yeah. Then I wanted to make things right after a month that we weren’t together. She said that she was trying really hard to forget, and I just brought it up again. She never did forget. That’s why she hated me until the tour started.”
“I knew that Dawn wouldn’t do that for no reason. That also explains why she hasn’t had a boyfriend, and why all her songs seem to talk about that kind of situation.” She paused. “You said that Brittany Little put it up, right?” The older girl nodded. “Brittany was the old guitarist of L and L. She hates them for some reason. It would make sense that she would use this to her advantage.” The blonde huffed before getting out of line completely.
“Why don’t you come by for Dawn’s signing?”
The young girl sighed. “My friend wants to see a band play, and they start not long after her signing starts.”
“I’m going to be there for her signing. For being such a good fan to both of us, I want you to come to the side of the tent and get their autographs. You can cut everyone. I’ll even let you come to our meet and greet because we are having a joined one for both of us.”
“Oh my God! Really?!”
“Yeah. I know that they’ll be fine with it. I’ll let everyone know that we are having a special fan at our meet and greet.” I sent a text to everyone telling them. “I send them a text. I’ll try to get over to the entrance just in case.”
“Thank you so much! This is one of the best days ever!”
“What’s the best?”
“The day that I met my boyfriend.”
“Is he here?”
“Yeah. He’s waiting for me.”
“Well, your boyfriend and your friend can come too.”
“Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”
“What’s your name?”
“Mandy Bishop.”
“I will remember that.” With that she was off.
“You are way to nice,” Alex smiled.
“I try.”
After we were done, I headed over to Dawn’s tent. I could already see the line forming. I snuck from behind her and blew in her ear. I started to laugh my ass off when she fell out of her chair. It was so funny! I looked over to the side of the tent and saw the girl from earlier. I waved for her to come on in. She did. Dawn looked at us funny.
“This is Mandy Bishop. She’s a fan of ours and is going to have to see a band with her friend. She stuck up for us back at my tent, so I thought that she deserved to get your autograph and then come to our meet and greet.”
Dawn still looked confused. “Why did she have to stick up for us?”
“Brittany put up online about our past.”
Mandy cut in. “There was this bitchy blonde chick that was saying stuff. I knew that you couldn’t be like that. Jack explained it, and I brought up the point that Brittany was in your band and that you guys hate each other.”
Dawn smiled warmly at her. “Well, thank you. It’s always a pleasure to get to meet our fans that truly care about us and understand and don’t judge our decisions.”
“The pleasure is all mine. I’ve looked up at you. I also sing and play bass. One day I want to play for a living. Music is my therapy. I was made fun of at my old school, and if it wasn’t for my boyfriend teaching me and showing me your guy’s music. I don’t think I’d be here.”
The look on Dawn’s face changed. I knew why. She went through the same thing with us. “I think we should be friends.”
“You’re not joking, are you?”
She shook her head. “I know what you’ve been through, and I still suffer because of it, but, as you can see, things will get better. People that can understand music and use it as therapy are like a family to me. The other members of my band understand. They use music for the same reason. I would love to have another friend that shared our passion.” Dawn really was the most amazing person I’ve ever met.

Oh thanks! It's been forever since I've gotten comments or anything.
And I'm happy you like this one. It's not favorite, but it's forever there for me since it was my first ATL fic.
Oh and Idon't know if you've started the prequel but I got really stuck on it, but I have thought of just putting up all the info that wasn't explained. Ex. Why they hate Brittany so much

Anyway, thanks! :)
