Time-Bomb

"I know I sound crazy."

Jack's POV
As soon as Dawn was released from the hospital, we were back on tour. Most people, like the doctors, didn’t think it was a good idea that we were doing this. Dawn and I, however, would rather be doing what we love than going home and doing nothing. Who wouldn’t? Today was the first day that we were officially back. I couldn’t wait for the show tonight. It was going to be absolutely amazing. I just knew that Dawn was going to put everything she had into her singing.
“Are you ready for the show tonight?” Alex asked me as we waited for our signing to begin.
“Fuck yeah! I can’t wait for Dawn and me to perform our song. It’s going to be awesome. We’re going to put everything into it.” I smiled from just the thought of her.
“I still can’t believe that you’re going to be a dad. I thought that you would be the last of us to have a kid.”
“I did too, but this is happening. I really can’t wait to find out the gender. I really want a little girl. If we do, I hope she looks like her Dawn. I would feel really bad for her if she had my big nose.”
“I would to. You’re nose is fuckin’ huge.”
“Jee thanks. Dawn likes my nose though.”
“That’s just because she’s weird like that. Her looks are the only thing that makes you guys cute together. You’re ugly.”
I made an overdramatic sad face. “But Dawn says I’m the cutest thing ever.”
He laughed. “I’m only playing with you. You guys are really cute together though.”
“I’m surprised that this is coming from you. A month ago, you still hated her.”
“I’ve forgiven her. I was just mad because she was hurting you by hurting herself. If it wasn’t for the fact that she’s even happier than before and she says that she will never cut again because she doesn’t want to hurt the baby, I would be pissed at her. I don’t want you to get hurt, and what she did hurt you really bad. I actually was pissed until she told us the news and I saw that twinkle in her eye. I know that she’s never going to cut again. She cares about you too much.” He glanced at the time on his phone. “It’s time to start the signing.”
The first set of giggling girls walked up to me and gave me what they wanted signed. I signed my name on all three and handed them back to them. They didn’t move though. They just continued to giggle.
“Is it really true?” one of them asked.
“You know, about the whole you having a baby thing,” another one added.
“I did tweet about it,” I answered, “so yes, it’s true.” They giggled even more.
“Do you know what you want to name it?” the third one asked.
“If it’s a boy, Dawn wants to name him Jaden Bassam, and if it’s a girl, I want to name her Destiny Day.”
“What do you what?”
“I want a girl. Dawn wants a boy.”
“I want them to have a girl,” Alex cut in. “I don’t think we need another naked Jack running around.”
They laughed. “I don’t think it matters because they are going to have the cutest baby whether it is a boy or a girl.”
“How do you know that it’s not going to get Jack’s huge nose?” Alex smirked.
“I thought we were done with that,” I frowned.
“I will never get tired of talking about you’re huge ass nose.” I pretended to be mad at him.
“When are you two getting married?” the first girl asked.
“Huh?” Did I hear that right?
“I asked ‘when are you two getting married’.”
“I, uh, I haven’t asked.”
“Why not? You two love each other and are having a kid.”
“Yeah, but...” I didn’t really know a reason why I wouldn’t want to marry her now.
“I think that Jack thinks it’s not a good time,” Alex answered for me. “They’ve only been back together for over a little over a month. Besides, it really isn’t a good time. Just think how everything will be before and after Dawn has the baby.”
“I guess you’re right,” the third girl said. “You could still ask her though. You don’t have to get married right away. I actually think that it would be good because of what happened. It would give her another thing to look forward to.”
“I guess you’re right there. Of course, you are talking about Jack after all. Hell, we never thought that he would be the first of us to have a kid.”
“It’s surprising to a point,” the second said. “I think that it’s surprising that it’s with his girlfriend. We all know what his reputation was like before they got back together.”
“Yeah, I guess you’re right.”
I started to ignore everything that was being said. My mind was somewhere else for the entire signing. Of course I paid enough attention that I could sign my name and say things like “thanks” and “hi”. Instead of being there, I was somewhere else, thinking about what that group of girls said.
Should I ask Dawn to marry me? Was it too soon? Was it the wrong time? Would she even want to marry me?
I needed to shake any thoughts like that away. Why wouldn’t she want to marry me? We loved each other, and we were even having a kid together. I was just being a pessimist. She would say yes. I knew it.
After our signing, we made our way over to Dawn’s tent. They had just started their signing. It’s funny how our signings were one after another even before we made up. It’s kind of like fate. I walked over to my beautiful and gave her a hug from behind. It wasn’t easy because she was sitting, but I had done it enough times that it was becoming a second nature for me.
“Hey, Baby,” she said. She didn’t need too look at me to know that these were my arms that were wrapped around her and not some strangers. “How was your signing?”
I started to think about those girls again. “F-fine. It was fine.”
“Are you sure? You don’t sound like yourself.”
“Positive.”
Shit. I really had no idea how I was going to ask her. I know that she wouldn’t want a ring unless I got one. She thought that was sexist. She also didn’t like the idea of the guy asking the girl. She thought that it should be something that the couple should agree on and not have to ask the other.
The problem was that I actually wanted to do something romantic. It would be at least nice to make have someone make dinner for us. I would even like it if we went to a nearby park, and I asked her as we lay under a tree and watched the stars. Hell, I would at least want to give her flowers. She may be a romantic, but she just happened to not be one when it came to this. Of course.
Dawn ended up staying at the tent longer to talk to the fans. She was such a sweet person, whether it was to the fans or the taste of her. What? She’s my girlfriend. I can think dirty thoughts about her. With Dawn doing that, I had time to go over and ask Care. Care knew Dawn just a little bit more than I did. I mean, she is her sister after all.
“Care. I have a question for you,” I said as I walked over to her.
“Ok,” she nodded. “Go ahead and ask.”
“Well, today there were these girls and...”
“I thought you had a question for me, not a story.”
“I’m getting to it. Anyway, they were asking when we were going to get married, and I said that I didn’t ask. They asked me why, and I didn’t have an answer. Do you think that Dawn would want to marry me, and if you do, how should I bring it up? I know that she thinks that it’s sexist when the guy asks the girl.”
“Why don’t you just go up to her and say ‘let’s get married’?”
“I guess that will work. I’ll get right on it.”
I walked over to Dawn , who was laughing at something that one of her fans said. This was now or never. Well, not never. I would probably eventually bring it up after the baby is born. Anyway, I walk up to her. She turns her head and smiles at me.
“Hey Sweetie.”
“Let’s get married!”

Oh thanks! It's been forever since I've gotten comments or anything.
And I'm happy you like this one. It's not favorite, but it's forever there for me since it was my first ATL fic.
Oh and Idon't know if you've started the prequel but I got really stuck on it, but I have thought of just putting up all the info that wasn't explained. Ex. Why they hate Brittany so much

Anyway, thanks! :)
