Standing in front of his wardrobe Alex wanted to scream, it was already just after seven and his hair was still dripping from the shower he wondered if Jack was having this much trouble as well."Fucking hell" He sighed going to fix his hair first, thoughts of Jack swimming in his mind he wasn't sure why he blurted out asking him on a date. He knew he found Jack attractive and loved spending time with him but Alex was scared, it was the first time he fully had feelings for a guy and admitted it to himself. Nearing eight Alex opted for a pair of black skinnys and a blue checked shirt, grabbing his keys and money he made his way out to the car and drove to pick Jack up. Arriving outside Jack's house ten minutes later and only five minutes late Alex smiled, the house looked small and cosy but he knew what had happened in there"No stop" Alex told himself pushing all negative thoughts to the back of his mind, getting out the car Alex went up to the door and knocked, two minutes later he heard running then Jack flung the door open and Alex felt his mouth drop. Jack was standing there in tight black jeans, a black and white checked shirt, he had styled his hair so it wasn't lying flat on his head it was all messy and well perfect. Jack blushed and hit Alex on the arm"C'mon" Jack laughed pulling Alex towards the car, Alex snapped out his trance and drove towards town. They parked the car and walked into a big Italian restaurant and a waitress came over straight away"Alex! Is that you? You haven't been here for years, it's so good to see you! Table for two?" She smiled and Alex just nodded as she lead them to a small table near the back."I'll be back soon to get your orders" She smiled again and walked away to welcome the other customers ."Why here?" Jack asked looking around the fancy restaurant and felt very underdressed."Eh it was mine and my brothers favourite place to eat, whenever our parents weren't home or Kathy couldn't make it over, we jumped on the bus and came here" Alex said smiling at the memories he had in here."Well I like it" Jack said quietly and then the waitress came over to get their order even though they hadn't looked at the menu yet. Alex got carbonara but not the spaghetti one he never ate spaghetti on a date, Jack got a small pizza since he claimed not to be that hungry."Did you eat before I picked you up?" Alex asked taking a drink of his coke and Jack blushed."No! Well eh yeah maybe, sorry" Jack said looking at his hands"Hey don't apologise I find it cute" Alex said placing his hand on top of Jack's and the two stayed like that for a couple of minutes until the waitress came over with the food."You want to try some?" He asked Jack since he saw him eye up his plate when it landed on the table, Jack nodded enthusiastically as Alex titled his plate and scrapped some into Jack's plate next to the pizza."We really need to start this presentation because-" Alex started but Jack waved a bit of pizza in front of his face to stop him."No school talk we're on a date, I don't care about school right now" Jack said as Alex laughed at him waving the pizza in the air, there was something about Jack he made him feel happy and that everything would be fine."Earth to Alex" Snapped him back to the table and found Jack chuckling at him"Sorry I zoned out, what where we talking about" Alex said eating some more of his meal, after they had both finished Alex paid for it all even with Jack protesting the whole time. The two boys walked to Alex's car and Jack was still annoyed that Alex hadn't let him put something towards the meal."Come on it wasn't even that much!" Alex said as they got in the car and Jack scoffed at his words."Yeah cause $45 isn't a lot" He said staring out the window and Alex laughed."Are we having a fight?" Jack smiled at that"Just drive" He said as Alex started the car, about twenty minutes later they stopped outside a small track that led down to the only beach in town, it was still light out even though it was half nine but Alex wasn't ready for the night to end just yet. Walking down to the beach they saw that there was a few people here as well, most with small children or dogs. They walked to a more quiet spot and sat down on the white sand,"Dinner and then a walk on the beach? Someone's romantic" Jack mused playing with the soft sand, Alex shoved him and watched the black haired boy fall into the sand. Standing over him Alex laughed and before he knew it he was lying on the sand, Jack had knocked his feet out from under him."Don't mess with me" Jack leaned over Alex and whispered in his ear, Alex shivered at Jack's breath on his skin turning his head so he was looking right at Jack, Alex lifted himself onto his elbows and saw Jack close the small distance. Alex closed his eyes butterflies starting and felt Jack press his lips onto his own and Alex kissed him back, a minute later Alex pulled away and smiled at Jack. They lay on the beach for a while just talking or enjoying the silence,"It's late we should leave" Alex said standing while holding out a hand for Jack to take then Alex laughed."What?" Jack asked looking around worried and Alex just shook his head."You've got sand in your hair" He said brushing it out Jack's dark hair.Alex pulled up outside Jack's house shutting off the car and walked Jack to his door."I had a great time thanks" Jack said playing with his hands and Alex smiled taking both of Jack's hands he intertwined their fingers and leaned in to give Jack a small kiss."Night Jack" Alex whispered when he pulled away and he let go of Jack's hands so he could go inside, Jack waved from the door as Alex drove happier than he had been in months. Ignoring his tablets when he got home since he felt like he didn't need them Alex fell asleep happy with no tears spilt and it was all because of Jack, he suddenly really liked history class.
