RIAN'S POV. "It is so beautiful here" Rian breathed as they got out Zack's car and started the five minute walk towards the large lake."I use to love coming here when I was Dawn's age, now not so much" Zack said squeezing Rian's hand as they passed a family walking a small dog."Why don't you like it here? It looks so nice" Rian asked wondering why Zack didn't come here any more as they walked down towards the lake."Because I use to-" Zack started but stopped halfway through his sentence and Rian noticed he was staring at a guy who had an equally shocked expression"Zack!" The boy gasped running over then stopped when he noticed Rian holding his hand."Hi Martin, eh this is Rian" Zack said turning a bright shade of red and Rian sent him a forced smile."Hey man, so Zack I can't believe you're here I thought I wouldn't see you again" The boy called Martin said blushing and Zack smiled kindly which caused a wave of jealously to wash over Rian."Just here for the week with Ri" Zack said feeling more awkward as the conversation went on, his boyfriend and ex standing facing each other."Oh well if you ever want to catch up just phone and Zack I'm sorry for what happened between us" Martin said smiling and walked away quickly and Rian was sure he could see the smug grin on his face."What the fuck Zack!" Rian shouted after Martin was gone and as Zack walked away from him, leaving Rian standing alone at the edge of the lake surrounding Zack's summer house."Rian just drop it!" Zack said turning round anger and guilt clear on his face as Rian stormed up to his boyfriend."I can't just drop it Zack! You went out with the guy before me and its pretty clear you still feel something for him!" Rian said loudly not caring who could hear him right now, all he wanted was for Zack to tell him the truth about everything that had happened here."I DON'T FEEL ANYTHING FOR HIM! FUCK SAKE! Not any more, you know why? Because he cheated on me Ri, yes I freaked when I saw him because the last time I seen him he was all over some other guy at a fucking house party! So don't give me the jealous boyfriend act because nothing will ever happen with me and Martin again" Zack said tears rolling down his face and Rian couldn't say or do anything other than pull Zack into a hug."Zee I am so sorry, I didn't know that and if you had just told me before we arrived I would have handled it better" Rian said softly running a hand through Zack's hair and he felt the boy sniffle and look at him with tears stained cheeks."It's okay babe I would have done the same if it was you" He said and Rian leaned in and kissed Zack lightly before pulling away and smiling at him."If he gives you any trouble while we're here I'll kick his ass" Rian said being deadly serious while Zack laughed lightly and hugged him tighter."I love you Ri, I really do" Zack whispered and if possible Rian tightened his arms around him wondering when Zack became such a different person, it felt like a lifetime they stood there just hugging and whispering to each other."Zack! Dinner!" They both heard Zack's mom shout from the back door and the two of them walked up the small hill hand in hand as they reached the house, grabbing whatever food they wanted then sat a little further away from Zack's mom, dad and younger sister Dawn and ate in silence."Ah!" Rian said suddenly dropping his burger and Zack looked over in concern"Burnt my tongue" He said simply and Zack laughed kissing his cheek before he went back to eating his own burger."How about we go a boat trip tomorrow boys? I can see if Martin will lend me the keys for the day" Zack's dad called over and Zack tensed but smiled and nodded while Rian glared out at the water in front of them, Zack's parents clearly didn't know about Zack and Martin but if he was going to appear every day on this holiday Rian was going to kill him."Hey he won't ruin this" Zack said intertwining their fingers while Rian looked at him. ALEX'S POV. Alex had been driving around town for the past thirty minutes, he knew Jack would be sound asleep in their room no doubt unaware of what Alex was planning to do. He drove through his old street and parked his car at the end of the drive way to his parents house, walking up the drive he noticed that his dads car was gone which meant that either both his parents were gone or his mom was still here. Trying the door he found it unlocked which meant someone was in, he opened the front door and stepped into the hall."Hello" Alex called out and listened as it was silent for a few minutes then footsteps coming down the stairs signalled someone was in, he suddenly thought it could be his dad as his mom could have taken the car. Alex slowly started to back away until he saw his mom staring at him in relief and guilt"Alex!" She said and wrapped him up in a hug and Alex returned it ever so slightly he wasn't staying for long all he wanted was to grab his brothers guitar and a few pictures then he really was leaving."I didn't expect anyone to be in" Alex said as his mom released him and a hurt expression crossed her face but she just nodded in understanding."Well your dad left for work this morning and I leave in a few days" His mom said simply she wasn't a woman of many words and usually just got straight to the point."Ok I'm just going to get a few last things then I'm leaving again" Alex said climbing the familiar stairs that led to the bedrooms, he passed his old room and it was completely bare, someone had taken down his posters and it was already been used as a storage room. Sadness washed over Alex as he now realised just how important he must have been to his parents if they already were erasing his memory from the house, walking into his brothers room he grabbed the dusty old guitar, rummaged through the wardrobe for the case , put the guitar in the case and flung it over his shoulder. Alex picked up the small photo frame sitting on his brothers desk and slide the photo out, it was a picture of Alex when he was about four on his brothers shoulders and they were laughing at the camera. He knew his brother kept the photo albums in his room so it took Alex a few minutes to find them but when he eventually did it took everything in Alex not to cry, knowing just how broken his family really was even before he left."Alex before you go, here" Alex's mom handing him a small envelope that had his name and address on it, he smiled at his mom and gave her a one armed hug."See you around" Alex said walking out his house for the very last time, taking a deep breath to calm himself Alex put everything in the back of his car apart from the envelope. He ripped it open expecting it to be some piece of junk mail instead he was shocked to find it was a trust fund under his name, he looked it over and realised his mom and brother had been putting money away for him since before he was born. There was enough here for Alex to start a new life far away from Baltimore and maybe Jack would come with him? No he knew Jack would come with him."Thank you" Alex whispered to his brother hoping he could hear him where ever he was now, just then Alex's phone starting ringing."Hello" He said still in shock over the money he now had."Lex?" Jack's voice sounded down the end of the phone and it made Alex smile even more."Yeah babe" He said sticking the phone on loud speaker as he started to drive back to Kathy's."Can you bring me a taco bell?" Jack asked and Alex laughed at him, he should have known since Jack was always hungry."Okay Jack" Alex said turning back around in the direction he needed to go to pick up some food for himself and Jack."Thanks Lex! love you" He heard Jack call happily down the phone"Love you too, see you when I get back" Alex said hanging up and grinned wondering how he was going to break the news to Jack about maybe starting a new life away from all their problems.
