"You done what!" Alex shouted staring at Rian in disbelief."I kissed Zack and I've completly messed everything up" Rian said and Alex could see he was shaking quite badly."Rian calm down its okay" He said slowly but Rian shook his head looking at Alex."How is any of this okay Alex? How is kissing your straight best friend okay? He can't even look at me and everytime I think of it I feel sick" Rian said never taking his eyes off Alex who still couldn't believe what Rian had told him."Have you tried talking to Zack about it?" Alex asked sitting next to his friend who was nodding."That was the first thing I done, I phoned him and he told me never to speak to him again but I kept begging him to listen to me instead he just hung up on me" Rian said his eyes filling with water and Alex pulled his friend into a hug which set Rian off."What actually happened, you have to tell me or I won't be able to help you" Alex said as Rian tried to calm himself down so he could talk."All I remember was standing in the kitchen alone and Zack walked in asked if I was okay then I kissed him. He kissed me back for a fraction of a second then shoved me into wall screaming at me and then he ran out the house" He said taking a shaky breath and Alex noticed he was still crying."Alex is Rian staying for dinner!" Kathy shouted up from the hall and Alex just looked at Rian who shook his head."No!" Alex called back to her and sighed he really was confused on what to say to Rian, Alex was never good at fixing other peoples problems since he couldn't even help himself."I think you're going to have to talk to him Ri because he looked just as freaked out today as well and I'm pretty sure the guys knew something was up. If you want I can talk to him for you and just see if he'll hear you out?" Alex suggested but Rian shook his head."I should talk to him because I don't want him knowing I told you but thanks Alex" Rian said smiling slightly but it wasn't his usual blinding smile."It's fine Ri what are friends for, but I have to ask are you gay or?" Alex trailed off really wanting to know because if Rian was gay who else on his team was as well."I think so yeah, I mean I've been attracted to guys for over a year now but that was the first time I acted on anything I felt towards a guy and I guess I just freaked out" Rian said shrugging and Alex felt he jaw drop, Rian had been gay for a whole year and he hadn't seen it."So you really like Zack huh" He said after a few minutes of silence."Yeah" He sighed as he pulled out his phone and Alex frowned."What are you doing?" He asked and Rian just put a finger to his lips telling Alex to be quiet."Hey Mrs Merrick is Zack in? Could you maybe put him on, thank you" Rian took a deep breath and Alex just listened in as he heard Zack battle with his mum about not wanting to talk to Rian."Put it on speaker!" Alex whispered and Rian rolled his eyes but did put Zack onto speaker."What?" Came Zack's voice from the phone, Rian looked at Alex who nodded."Can I come over I need-" Rian started but Zack cut him off"No just stop Rian" Zack said sounding exhausted."Please Zack! I need to explain everything, can we just go a walk so I can apologise" Rian said starting to cry which Alex was pretty sure Zack could hear."Okay text me when you're leaving" Zack said and hung up, Rian stood and looked at Alex."Thanks Alex I don't think I could have done that if it wasn't for you" He said and gave Alex a hug, he hugged his best friend back and walked down to the door with him."I want to know what happens and just call me if you need to talk" Alex said as Rian nodded smiling and then jogged to Zack's, shutting the door Alex sighed. Picking up his phone he thought of Jack for the first time that day since chemistry, dialing his number Alex waited for Jack to pick up."Hey!" He heard Jack shout cheerfully down the phone and Alex smiled at his boyfriends voice."Someone's happy" Alex mused as he sat at the table in the kitchen while Kathy cooked."Yeah cause I get to talk to you now" Jack said and guilt washes through Alex as he heard Jack's words."Oh are you okay I never got to ask you" He heard Jack ask and he smiled."Lots better now don't worry 'bout me" He said as he caught Kathy smiling as she opened a cupboard for something."Good and is it still okay if I can stay tomorrow? Cause I don't wanna be in my house" Jack said and Alex was sure there was a hint of fear in his voice."Of course it is you idiot" and he heardJack laugh which made him smile."Yay! Can we order pizza and watch movies and cuddle" Jack rushed out getting excited which Alex didn't understand since he had stayed over before."Anything you want and bring whatever you need to school cause I'll just drive us straight home" Alex said thinking of Rian and Zack but was drawn back to Jack's excited squeal. Alex said on the phone to Jack for a good 10 minutes until he had to get his dinner and medicine."I need to go but I'll see you tomorrow okay" Alex said as Jack pretended to cry."Okay bye Lex!""Bye Jacky" And they hung up."Jacky?" Came Kathy's voice and Alex turned a bright shade of red, he called him Jacky because he thought Kathy wasn't in the kitchen."Um" Was a Alex could manage and Kathy laughed."I'll just pretend I never heard" She said handing Alex two of his tablets and a plate of food, he relaxed slightly at Kathy's words but surely she knew something was going on. For the rest of the night Alex sat in the living room with Kathy which surprised her but she never said anything. All Alex could do was worry; worry about Rian and what Zack would do, worry about Jack and why he sounded scared and the worst when his parents would return home. RIAN'S POV. Rian ran down the street feeling his feet pounding against the sidewalk as he made his way to Zack's. As he neared both his and Zack's street Rian slowed down and pulled out his phone texting Zack that he would be there in a minute, Rian saw that he was already standing outside his house waiting on him. He waited at the start of the driveway and Zack waved a hand for Rian to follow him, Zack took them round to his back garden and they sat in the far corner so no one could hear what they were talking about. The two friends sat in the most uncomfortable silence they had ever experienced until Zack spoke."So are we going to talk?" Zack asked running a hand through his curly hair still not looking at Rian, Rian sighed thinking about what Alex had told him."I'm sorry" Rian whispered his eyes trying to find anything to focus on anything aart from Zack, he didn't want to look at his face."I never meant to do that Zack, fuck I know I've messed everything up between us. I know that I've ruined our friendship and I understand that you don't want to talk to me. I swear if I could take back what I done I would. Everytime I think about it I see you and the disgust on your face, I remember all the words you screamed at me when you slammed me against the wall. Zack I'm so sorry, I just, I can't handle you hating me" Rian said cursing himself for crying, he stood up and went to walk away but Zack grabbed his arm."If you're going to shout at me please just let me leave because I just can't" He said looking at Zack who had a pained expression on his face still he never said anything."Can I ask you something" Rian said and Zack just nodded still not looking at him which made Rian even more upset."Why did you kiss me back? Even if it was just for a second" He asked and he saw Zack stiffen at the question."I was drunk Rian then I realised who it was and I fucking freaked, I know that shoving you into the wall and shouting at you wasn't the best way to go about it. I was in shock that my best friend had kissed me okay, you would probably have done the same if you where in my shoes" Zack said as Rian just nodded not wanting to stay any longer, he just wanted to go home and attempt to forget his all feelings towards Zack."Okay well I think we've both said what we wanted to and I'm gonna leave before I say or do something I'll regret even more" Rian said ignoring Zack's protests as he walked quickly back to the front of Zack's house, he was half walking half jogging to his own house when he heard shouting."RIAN!" He heard but ingnored it."RIAN FUCKING WAIT YOU DICK!" Zack screamed running down after him, Rian stopped and spung around watching Zack get closer. Zack stopped inches infront of him slightly breathless. Rian didn't have time to realise what was happening before Zack grabbed him by the neck of his t-shirt and crashed their lips together. Rian responded after a few seconds and moved his lips in time with Zack's before he felt him pull away."I said I was shocked not that I didn't like it" Zack said letting his breathing return to normal, Rian stared at his best friend in shock not knowing what was happening."You going to say anything because now I feel kinda stupid" Zack said blushing slightly and Rian just grinned his perfect smile and leaned in to kiss Zack."Definetly better sober" Zack mumbled into the kiss and Rian smiled, silently thanking Alex.
