Just Add Happiness

*ALEX*

"Pleaaaasssseeee, can we skip the coffee for one day?" I complained as Rian pulled me into the small cafe on our way home from school. We go everyday, the kid even comes me here on the weekends. He gets a family/friend discount now and all the workers know his name.

"NO Alex, I need my daily coffee. Besides this is the only time you talk to others outside of school." Rian walked up to order what ever it is he gets everyday.

"I TALK TO OTHER PEOPLE!!!" who does Rian think he is. Why do we need to come here EVERYDAY?!? Can't the kid invest in a coffee maker or something.

"Sure you do Alex, now are you going to get something or not? The guy up there is staring at you." What? no he's not? When I looked over it turns out the guy really was staring at me. Now that i'm looking I don't think I want to look away. He's beautiful, where did this man come from and can I have him to go? wait what? I did not just think that. Who am I kidding, yes I did. Why was he never here befo-- "YO EARTH TO ALEX!! Order something or move so others can." Rian yelled in my ear.

"Whaa? Oh Right" I walked up to the attractive man. "Hi can I just get a hot chocolate" and your number, I thought to myself.

"Anything else?" the cute worker asked. "Yeah, just add happiness" I smiled.

I now it is an odd thing to say to someone but it's something I really want. You see Rian wasn't kidding when he said I didn't talk to anyone. Hell i'm surprised I talk to Rian that much. I'm not really a person who goes looking for conversation. Everyone thinks i'm strange and to top everything off i'm the smartest kid in school so i'm not really part of the popular group at school. I get made fun of a lot so I like to go home and hide. My happiness left me long ago and I would give anything to feel it again.

"Hmmm I'll see what I can do." The worker smiled and walked away. My goodness that smile and his voice, ughh. I want nothing more then to hear him talk all the time. I got caught up in my daydreams because next thing i knew a cup was being pushed in my face. "Here you go, umm can I ask you your name?"

"Thank you" I shyly took my cup and went to walk away. "and my name is Alex." I quickly walked over to Rian so the guy couldn't see me blushing and pulled him out of the cafe.

"You okay there Alex? You've never pulled me out that fast before." he looked at me worried

"Did you see that man?!? Rian he was the greatest looking thing I have ever seen in my life." Rian Looked at me and chuckled, all worry leaving his body.

"That man has a name Alex, but I doubt you asked for it. Why is it that every time you think someone is cute you forget to be a person?" Oh my god!! I forgot to get his name! He must think i'm so odd. How could I forget such a simple thing? Idiot! Hopefully he's there again tomorrow. I went to take a drink of my hot chocolate but Rian stopped me. "Hey what's written on your cup?" I looked down and looked where Rian was pointing.

What is happiness without someone to share it with? lucky for you im willing to share mine with you. All you have to do is go on a date with me. Text me okay? -Jack

below was his number. Oh my goodness this is not happening. Nothing like this happens to people like me.

"His name is Jack" I said to Rian,blushing.

"What does the rest say?"

"He gave me his number and asked me out" I looked down smiling. "Should I text him or pretend I didn't see his note? I'm not good at these types of things."

"Don't even think of not texting him!!! This is your chance to finally get a relationship and you are taking it! You're always going on about how you want happiness and someone to love now is your time! Come to think of it, we are not walking another step until you text him." Rian sat on the ground and crossed his arms, looking up at me.

"Fine, i'll text him." I pulled out my phone and added his number.

To Jack: Hey it's Alex, I think I'll take you up on your offer.
