Chapter 7
I walked into school towards my locker to spot a very pissed off Alex.
"Hey, what's up?" I asked.
"What happened with Zack yesterday? He came to my house upset." Alex replied sternly. How did he know that Zack was with me?
"How do you know that Zack was with me yesterday?" I retorted.
"Just anwer my question, Foreman!"
"Fine, We-"
"Sam! I was looking all over for you! You left your phone at my house last night. I was wondering why you werent answering my calls." Allison said as she handed me my grey razor.Then she looked over to her right staring into alex's eyes breifly. He was staring right back at her.
"So,what are we talking about?" Alli asked, breaking the awkward silence. She was always good at that.
"Uh, Sam was explaing to me what happened with Zack yesterday."
"You saw Zack yesterday? Oh yeah Leikin was telling me some shit about how you blew her off before I zoned out on her."
"You're such a great listener, Alli" I replied sarcasticly
"So continue with the story." Alex said
"Oh yeah. So after school ended yesterday, Zack came to my locker and asked if I wanted to hang out, I said yes and we hung out in my backyard on the swing." I stopped to breathe , then continued. "Then Leikin came over and reminded me that I was supposed to go with her and I apoligized and she was like 'If nothing's going on with you two , kiss him and then tell me there's no emotion' so I kissed him and there was this spark that I couldn't explain, but I told Leikin that I felt nothing and then Zack left." I concluded.
"What's wrong with you?" Alex and Alli replied in unison.
" I honestly don't know." I said softly.
"Ok. I'm going to tell you sonething that I wasn't supposed to tell anyone, not even Jack." Alex said simply.
"What?" I replied
"Zack was going to ask you out yesterday. He went on and on about how he couldnt stop thinking of you, That he wanted you to be his."
"Aww.." Alli cooed
"I know right, it's so sweet."Alex replied.
"Ok, this is not funny. " I chimed in.
"Who said I was kidding? I'm so serious right now!"
"Ok, so what do I do, now he kinda hates me."
"He doesn't HATE you he thinks that you don't like him the same way he likes you."Alli said softly.
"In other words, you're fucked." Alex replied.
" Yeah, pretty much" Alli said as the warning bell rang.
"Uhh. We should get going." Alex said softly.
"Yeah." I replied as I grabbed my bag.
"I didn't get your name."Alex said.
"Oh, I'm Allison, I but you can call me Alli."
"Well, Allison. I'm Alexander, but you can call me Alex." He replied shooting her a wink and turned around to walk me to homeroom.
"Why do you think that Zack doesn't like you as much as everyone tells you?" Alex asked
"Well, I've been hurt and lied to so many times that it's just hard to distinquish the difference between the truth and lies." I replied
"Sam, not to sound like an ass,but you're in your freshman year of high school. What could've possibly happened to you?" Alex asked as he held the door for me.
"Ok. I'll tell you, but you've got to promise me that you wont tell
anyone."I said as I sat next to him.
"Promise. Cross my heart." he said making a small 'x' on his chest.
"Ok. last year, I went to Colorado for the summer. My mom left me with my brother, Sean, which meant. that I could pretty much do anything I wanted. I met this guy and he seemed really nice. We were really close. He got his friends to tell me how much he loved me and how amazing I was just to see if I. would put out for him, which I didn't. so now this seems like a repeat of what happened and I dont like repeats."
"Well, I'll tell you this, Zack isn't like that, he's really caring and I wouldn't lie for something so stupid. We won't try to hurt you, Sammi." He said as I looked into his eyes they were soft , caring, and a deep chocolate brown color, eyes that isured trust. I guess I could try to trust this boy.
"Ok, I hope so."
"Trust me." He said as he grabbed my hand and squeezed it softly.
"I trust you, but don't let me regret it." I said softly. I really dont want t regret it.
