Chapter 14
Sam-
-Friday-
When I got home from the store, I ran to the bathroom with my bag of products to dye my hair back. It was three hours until the dance, I could make this happen.
I took my hair out of the ponytail that it was in taking one last glance at myself and all the bad memories. It was done, it wasn't going to come back. I wouldn't let it. I sighed and took the box of hair dye up. I followed the directions on the box and in thirty minutes, my hair was back to the way it was before. I felt a sense of change-a good change this time and it made me feel a lot better than I have been feeling lately. I felt back to me, like out of hiding. Is this what Nick was talking about? The sense that I might've just been hiding myself behind my hair. Wow did it feel good to be back.
I went into the shower and washed off quickly. When I was don, I went to my room where I laid my outfit on my bed. I was going to wear this fitted strapless blue dress that was a little over my knee. Under that, I was going to wear thin white tights, and black heels. I went over to my dresser and put on bangles on my left hand, a black star necklace,and diamond earrings. When I was done, I stepped back and looked at myself. I think I looked pretty good. I grabbed my bag and walked downstairs. Nick would be here any minute now. I was about to put my phone in my bag when Sean saw me.
"Samantha Stephanie, where are you going in that?"
School dance."
"In that?" He asked gesturing to the dress.
"I have tights on," I whined.
"It'd be nice if you wore something more...conservative,"
"Sean," I whined as the doorbell rang, it was Nick.
"Fine, go."
"Thanks, Love ya!" I stated hugging him and walked over to open the door. I walked out and closed the door behind me.
"Come back with your virginity!" Sean yelled from the window.
"Sure, thing," I replied giving him a thumbs up.
"Hey, you look great," Nick stated.
"Thanks, you don't look so bad, yourself," I smiled back.
"Thanks, I try. So, you ready for the night of nights?" He asked.
"I hope so," I smiled.
"Good enough," He replied.
"So, what's the plan?" I asked.
"Sit across from where Zack is or at least in eyeshot and try to get noticed by him. If you two make eye contact and he goes back to whatever, he don't want you. If he comes over to talk to you, You're welcome," He smiled devilishly.
"O-OK." I mumbled as we walked into the gym where the dance was being held.
I took as seat right across from where Zack was sitting. Zack just happened to be making out with Melody. I sighed softly. I needed to retaliate. I looked at Nick.
"No," He said firmly catching on to what I was thinking.
"Please?" I whined
"Absolutely no-" I crashed my lips to his. I felt him sigh in defeat and start to kiss back as our lips moved in sync together.
-Zack Pov-
I pulled back from Melody. Something just didn't feel right. I still had feelings for Sam. She moved away two years ago and I think of her every day like she never left. I wondered how everything would be if I did come to say goodbye. I tried to cover up those feeling by messing with Melody. One time when we were messing around, I called her Sam and it stirred up a lot of trouble. I just wish that Sam was here right now. I looked up to see Sam talking to Nick. I was probably just delusional. I went back to kissing Melody because, even if she was there, there was no chance of me redeeming myself.
-Sam Pov-
I pulled back from Nick he looked at me while he bit his lip awkwardly which made me laugh slightly. I looked over to where Zack was and he was still kissing Melody.
"You have to make it more obvious. He didn't see us," Nick said laughing with me. He kissed me again softly and started to bang on the table with his open hand. I smiled into the kiss trying not to laugh as we gained stares from the whole room. He pulled back slowly.
"That should do it!" He said as we laughed.
-Zack Pov-
"Oh look, Sam dyed her hair back, it looks so nice," Alex said to Jack. I pulled away from Melody immediately.
"What?" I asked, quickly.
"Who's Sam?" Melody asked.
"I'm so sorry. I hope that you can find someone else better for you, but I just can't," I said quickly getting up.
"Where are you going? Are you breaking up with me?" Melody asked.
"We were never together," I replied walking over to Sam.
-Sam Pov-
Nick and I continued to talk until Nick stopped in the middle of his sentence and started to smile. I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around to see Zack.
"Hey," I said softly.
"Hey, you're back," He said lightly.
"I know, I'm here," I laughed.
"I missed you, how long have you been back?"
"About a week," I shrugged.
"I'm sorry I wasn't there when you left, I regret it every d-" I kissed him softly and he kissed me back.
We pulled back and just looked into each other's eyes. I felt like everything was complete now.

"I'm so sorry. I hope that you can find someone else better for you, but I just can't," I said quickly getting up.
"Where are you going? Are you breaking up with me?" Melody asked.
"We were never together," I replied walking over to Sam.

We pulled back and just looked into each other's eyes. I felt like everything was complete now.
